Yup, I got it from an EITC Warlord. I have to level my cutlass up 4 more levels to use it. I'm so happy I finally got it!

The Pirate Lord 05-30-2010 07:35 PM

Thanks! I'm in Tormenta right now working on leveling sword.

Isaiah Ropeswine 05-30-2010 08:00 PM

Grats! I got mine with my other pirate at lvl 31, I think these swords usually come to the lower level pirates.

Ropeburn 05-30-2010 08:16 PM

CONGRATS MATE! u got it!!

Crestshot 05-30-2010 09:05 PM

Nice job mate! Good luck leveling that sword up 4 more times!

CarribeanThunder 05-30-2010 10:26 PM

I have a feeling Disney's making this weapon be found more commonly to the mid-level players, as I've not gotten anything useful in two months ( Well, I DID get an Engraved Sabre yesterday ).

I already have a Lv24ish Pirate with a Lv20 Cutlass, so it'd be nice to get that sword on that pirate. In fact, I may try it out.

( Wish me luck that I don't have :D )

Congratulations on the find!

Well I though I'd just use this thread instead of making a new one.

I was on Tormenta in the treasure room hoping to find some new voodoo dolls and low and behold look what I find in a loot skull chest dropped by a Molusk.

Never thought I would see one of my pirates like this!

I am glad I was at a level to use it! It would drive me mad leveling and waiting to use it!

Jolly better look out! He will be my only target of the mighty weapon!!

Congrats mate! I've never seen the Icon of the sword in a "Plundered Loot" stats. 3 Star plunder? Nice to hear that you got it.

I don't think the lower level advantage theory is accurate. I've gotten several items the past few days - including my very first sea charm of any kind. I've got two of El Patron's swords (causing me to wonder how many he had, and how scatterbrained he must have been to lose so many). I just got a Famed blunderbuss two nights ago that I am growing very fond of.

The upper level dolls have been slow, and I haven't seen any staff's worth keeping.

So, my perception is that the randomness remains.

WTG Rannulf!! I was just wondering the other day if it was still being dropped.. * sigh * at least there is still hope for poor, unlucky, almost relic-less, unable-to-earn-rep, Cougar. :)

In the last three days I have found the following items: The lost sword, Famed Bejeweled Cutlass, Famed Spirit Binder Doll, Famed Corsairs Cutlass, and the musketeer sabre (rare). None of these items came from a boss. Moluks and undead gypsies have had the goods.

Prior I found only the Lucky Charm back in April.

Darkheart needs to sail back to Ravens Cove to stock up. I have not got a thing from him good in a long while. I went from pistol level 27-30 and did not keep a single item he dropped. The gold was good thats it.

Wow. If El Patron's sword only constitutes a 3 skull loot drop, I wonder what you'd get in a 5 skull drop?

I also have this sword and it has been quite a disappointment. It seems the Drain Voodoo attribute is not functional. I emailed Disney and they said I should ask other pirates about it. Seriously, this was there response:

Thank you for contacting us.

The Lost Sword of El Patron is a very strong and rare weapon of great power. Congratulations on acquiring it! Its properties and abilities are known to only the few who have found it in loot. With that said, we recommend speaking to your friends and allies' who wield it to see if this issue it particular to you or if it is common.

We hope this helps!

So, like a good little pirate I did what I was told. I haven't found any El Patron bearing pirates so far that have experienced or can demonstrate the Drain Voodoo attribute. (Do not confuse Drain Voodoo with the more common Damage Voodoo found on other weapons)

I emailed Disney back with my findings and.....no response back from them. Shocking.

I posted this question on another part of this forum, but I post it here again. Does anyone have proof that the Drain Voodoo attribute of El Patron works?

Robert Lockcutter 07-20-2010 04:45 AM

Mystery Solved

Here is the response I got from Disney regarding the Drain Voodoo function:

Thank you for contacting Pirates of the Caribbean Online.

The "drain voodoo" skill is intended to drain the power of any voodoo enemy whom you attune and use the skill against. The "drain voodoo" damage will also display in blue above the enemy you are currently defeating. However, due to a known technical issue within the game, this skill is not working as designed.

The Pirates Online Crew is hard at work resolving this error. As soon as the issue is resolved, we will post a notice on the Pirates of the Caribbean website in our Release Notes. You view all the current and past Release Notes at:

http://piratesonline.go.com/v3/#/news/releasenotes.html

We thank you for your patience while we look into this issue and, we hope to see you in the Caribbean again soon!

Fair winds,

Amanda
