POTCO Day at Disney

I know ToonTown has a day at Disney. I don't know if Disney has had or is planning a POTCO day, but if they did, would you go?

toanuju22 05-20-2010 02:12 PM

Perhaps, it would depend on Location.

lol no ty ....message too short??? "lol no ty" is all I have to say at the moment...soooo yeah o_0

Buck Seahawk 05-20-2010 05:26 PM

It depends if I can afford to get there and where it is and when.

Cannonfury 05-20-2010 05:53 PM

is the idea like...a meet and greet other potco players??

seafox 05-20-2010 06:20 PM

...if the actors would be there in full regalia...and I dunno....on one of the sets...and lots of freebies...and you of course, Kat...well, it would rock...(and I'd have to win the lottery or get a paid internship in addition to me two jobs...lol)..sounds like fun...:)

Jamesvsthekraken 05-20-2010 06:21 PM

If its meet the Pirates Online Crew then I will go. :)

Tuefenhandel 05-20-2010 06:51 PM

I'm also a 'definite maybe'. I would be interested, but it would all depend on what day, extras, special guests / events, etc.

Crestshot 05-20-2010 07:25 PM

Haha, metinks you should have added another option Kat: I'll go if I can afford it. For me, I would definitely be that one. If they were revealing new updates and stuff and had all sorts of NPCs and othe people (such as you), it would definitely be a possibility.

Espresso 05-20-2010 07:56 PM

At Disney meaning one of the resorts? Cause if they had one at Disneyland it would be the perfect excuse for me to go (haven't gone in months).

JM Ohara 05-20-2010 08:46 PM

Does all the money I've paid into the game count toward the trip? ;) Um, no. Still to expensive (and pointless) for this single person to haul myself clear across the country just for a POTCO day.

James Bladefury 05-20-2010 09:21 PM

Depends on location, time, date, and how long... and who will be there.

Yes, that is what they do at the Toontown day.. Basically, you get to meet the other players. I doubt that any of the cast of the movies would be onhand but that sure would be awesome if they could pull it off. I assume they would prefer for it to be at the California resort ( Disney Land, rather than the Orlando Disney World) since POTCO is based in CA. I would think that some of the POTCO staff would attend as well.

I hope they are reading this because I would start EBay'ing every thing I have to afford to go. I would definitely be there.

Nate Swordwalker 05-20-2010 11:10 PM

Well... let's see... POTCO's biggest fan + a whole day dedicated to POTCO + DISNEYLAND = AWESOMENESS!!!!! Of course I would be there! What kind of question is that Kat... LOL

Ropeburn 05-21-2010 01:31 AM

LOL IM SO LUCKY O BE AT CALIFORNIA ARNT I?? lol anyways im so going!! (only if its near a holiday and if it has a meaning to it lol)

The Skirata Clan 05-21-2010 02:05 AM

I highly doubt that they would do it. Keep in mind that Disneyland has an area called Toon Town. While Pirates is just a ride at New Orleans Square. It would be good if they did, but they are not going to do so. It's like having a Mr. Toad's Wild Ride day. Maybe at Orlando over at Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort. The pool there is a pirate fort and they have water shooting cannons.

seafox 05-21-2010 02:37 AM

...pffft....'just a ride' have you ever seen the two day long lines at 'just a ride'...lol....and comparing it to the toadie ride is...well...even for you...thats lowwwwww...

Juliana Maria 05-21-2010 03:35 AM

If I could manage it, I would definitely love to attend something like that. Course I'd dress up as a pirate, and talk like a pirate too... I'd borrow Mr. Cotton's parrot and sneak some rum in. Hmmm.. something tells me I'd be kicked out for trying to start a fake sword fight huh? LOL But seriously, it definitely sounds like it would be fun!

Crestshot 05-21-2010 03:53 AM

Fake sword fight? Yah. They can't KO you like in game, so....But I would so be right there with you! Ah, the fun....

OOOHH, I gots it! Instead of having the characters like Jack and Will and whatnot, have the Marceline guild come on out! Sandra Tew, Capt Walter (If he's not dead, but if he is, have him come out in blue makeup and raggedy torn clothes.), ect.

True, and Toontown (the game) had been around a lot longer than Pirates.. but I will tell you that when I was a tooner, the Toontown day at Disney sold out very quickly. I imagine that if they had a POTCO day, it would be more than us gamers who would be interested in attending. It would have very little to do with the ride itself, but more to do with the fans of the movie and the players of the game getting together to have a great time and meet one another. I think it would sell out quickly. It would not matter to me if it was held in CA or FL ( Florida is certainly much closer to me) but I figured since POTCO is based in CA, it would be easier to plan and manage from DisneyLand.

I think Pirates of the Caribbean fans might slightly outnumber the Mr. Toad fans.

I was making a distinction in space. Toon Town is an Area just like Adventure Land or Tomorrow Land. Pirates is just another ride at Disney. Granted one with a successful film, but it's still just a ride. And Mr. Toad's Wild Ride has more line than Pirates. I have proof. Pirates you can ride at night while Fantasmic is on with no lines. While Mr. Toad always is packed. So as far as devoting a day a park is realistically far fetched. However a resort is more suited for that. Specially a Caribbean themed one.

And there is no such thing as a two day lines. I have worked for Disney. And the cool people always prefer Mr. Toad's Wild Ride.

Games and movies aside. No. Mr. Toad destroys Pirates. I love Disneyland's ride but there is no other ride like Mr. Toad. Before the films Pirates was just an awesome ride. The fan base grew thanks to the movie. Hence making it a pain to go ride.

I often wish that the movie hadn't been such a success. Like Mansion was. And Mansion the ride a much better story behind it. Now the lines are just ridiculous.

Also the pirates rides are very different form Land to World. The one at World is not that good.

angel 4ever 05-21-2010 10:12 AM

I'm not disagreeing with you about how fun the rides are, TSC. POTCO day would have practically nothing to do with the rides hon. It's about the fans of the Pirates of the Caribbean Online GAME (and thus the movies which are based on the ride) getting together in one place, whether it is Disney Land, Disney World, McDonalds, or my house... although I think more people would come if it is at one of the resorts rather than my house.

That was exactly my point. If this is going to happen the parks would be the least favorable places to have it. That is why I said that something like Caribbean Beach at Orlando might work better.

Bubba Bunny x 05-21-2010 08:37 PM

A POTCO day? Heck ya I would go! But its all on location... Since their main base is in CA, it looks obvious that they would throw it there. If they have the day in Orlando, then I am 100% sure to go!

Nic 08-03-2010 10:01 PM

Course ill Go If its in Florida

Chimera Doll 08-03-2010 10:10 PM

This is a really good idea, Kat! I would love to go if I could afford the trip. Too bad I'm on the east coast. :[
