Lost relics drought
 

Does anyone have more than 3 lost relics in their inventory? I have a suspicion you can only carry up to 3, since there are 3 relic types, and that is the reason for the drought. Many of us have gone too long with empty skull chests!

I have 12.

I have a couple of guildmembers with more than 12. Sadly, I have NONE. And not for the lack of trying, mind you.

That ends the theory…*received any new ones in the past couple of days? And where? Thanks Celt.

me too i only have 2 the bejewled broadsword and a random sabre that i dont know the name of

Another thread says that they are being found again the last few days. I myself have only 3 spread over 3 different pirates. A guildmate has found 4 El Patron Swords on the same pirate and has more than 12 relics total. Another guildie and I were taking out Darkhart last night. He got an El Patron, his second, and I got a rusty cutlass and some gold, from the same chest. So much for drops being fair.

I got a Hex Breaker Musket from Darkhart within the past week. The relics are starting to drop again, but not at the same rate as when they first came out.

There is no drought at all. It's just you have no clue in the world where to hunt the lost relics, Now known as Famed Items. Yesterday I got 2 Relics from the same chest, they was the Bloodfire broadsword and Masterwork Broadsword. There is no drought at all on them, and for more information, you can get a lost relic if you already have one, becuase before I got the masterwork broadsword i had one in my inventory, and better yet it was the weapon I used. There is no drought at all, its just your more than likely at darkhart, the worst relic dropper

Tad, thanks for the info. I have parked at Darkheart forever and seem to never get lucky. Guess I will just stay there for awhile. Why is it that some pirates have all the luck?! Any other areas good for you? I have been thinking of hitting up more than the bosses on Padres. Kingshead wasn't lucky for me either.

Have a few guildmates with El Patron's sword. Some have relics and my one pirate has two relics. Careful what you wish for you might get it. I got a now famed sabre, Bloodfire Sabre and a famed gun, Corsair's Bayonet. Pretty much hate both. My Rare Royal Broadsword is better than the sabre. I do not like the bayonets. Too bad there is no trading.:cat-ani:

Is there any particular boss that drops them more often or is it really just a luck of the draw from any enemy? I only got a Golden Sea Charm from Darkhart once and that was after many different attempts.

Where is everyone finding their famed weapons? Tad must know. If not darkheart then where?

I got 4 relics, not trying anymore need to level up weapons.

I have 3 Lost Relics.. err, Famed Weapons, but I haven't gotten any since, about 2 weeks ago, maybe?

I personally, got all three from Darkheart, on Abassa. I'm gussing its just due to the fact he gets killed alot faster there.

P.S. The drought hasn't taken complete effect. I know for a fact that a guildie of ours (Maria Fireheart, wtg!) got herself a relic Sunday night, on a quiet server. So at least its not impossible!

...if anyone has 12 lost relics on one pirate i'd like to see that screenie/have to be 12 screenies prob with the pirate and the weapon open...lol...ya...i am very pessimistic...;)

I've gotten a lost relic on Neban the Silent actually. It's the only one across 5 different pirates (granted, I don't play number 5 a whole lot.) If you're camped out at Darkhart all the time, don't be. Spread out to the other bosses as well

How do you get on Abassa, whenever I log it always says full, do you play in the middle of the night or something?

Ok....this works for getting into any full server.....the easiest way is to log in to another....then use the drop down, its under the map and switch servers faster using that...when abassa goes green....click on it on that drop down...and you go faster...otherwise using the other way...it might send you to fragilles, say, even when you choose abassa....lol...sounds crazy...you have to watch for it to turn green when its full tho...



As for the relics....I found em this week with a 'younger' pirate of mine....dont find them with my upper level ones who each have them already....and I go everywhre and kill everything! lol...still getting rares on critters...etc....only relics tho were blue sea charts...

Um, it ain't just the big bosses you know. My little level 22 GM pirate just got a Golden Sea Charm off of Samuel. Just some food for thought for those of us too small for the big boys.

ya when i got my first relic it wasnt even a boss it was a undead some thing sry dont really remember what it was but it wasnt a boss i was like awesome!!! and did a dance haha haha :D

:cat-ani:Do you think if an enemy is red, yellow, green or grey level matters?

I have been trying to stick to red or yellow. Occasionally, a green or grey drops a loot skull chest or loot pouch but not as often and have not got anything great.

If your level is high there are few enemies left outside of big bosses there is only tormenta.:cat5:

....all kings was grey for me ....but lately, if I use a low level weapon(you can buy basic weapons if ye traded up)...I get yellow and reds...from dragoons to mercs to assasins....they might be grey once you get there, kill a few with low weapon and boom you start seeing kodachrome again..lol, especially in the courtyard at top of lane and then on tippy top.....I get skull chests and rares up top still....mebbe areas that aren't plundered much is a good bet...:)

Will give it a try, thanks fox. Still wondering why there is better luck for lower level pirates… would think it would be the opposite. Anyway, back to it.

Well I have them in my gallery, but the images are pending approval, and its been that way for a week. Did I forget to do something or is that normally how long it takes to get them approved?

Everything I have gotten has come from Darkhart.

No offense to the folks here on the forums. but with the giant slump of good weapons and such, I have lost the taste to have in my mouth in order to play this game. I'd much rather be playing a PS3 or 360 after this update was meant to be god, but things were rather limited. Not sure if Big D only put a certain amount of weapons in game for a set amount of people, but it is ridiculous. If they want to fix anything, we best tell them we would like one of two things. A code for a lost relic on our birthdays, or for them to fix drops back to how they are supposed to be.

But... Hmmm... Just imagine..... Suppose Trading were to come, then it would be easy (but high priced) to obtain Lost Relics. They would virtually be flowing through the market. Maybe the drought is for a purpose... maybe when Trading comes we'll be having new Lost Relics released into the game (staves, dolls, etc.)...

Really it just could be why they did it.

I think Disney made it easier to get Famed Weapons and the El Patron Sword initially in order to get them out there. The drops are totally random and they probably expected them to be spread out more. They did not take into account the trully obsessed gamers that camped out at the keyboard. On this forum I read a post that said a person spent 12 hours one day at Darkhart. The chance of getting a cool weapon will keep me looting, but I will mix it up with helping guildmates, potion making, acting silly and chatting.:cat-ani: I look forward to fishing :sport042:and customizing my ship. If a drop happens, it happens.... though I am envious of some people's clothing drops.

Remington on Kingshead has given me some good loot, but all in all the best stuff has come from the Thrall that is over the ridge to the left when facing the pond in Tormenta Caverns.

I'm not going to be telling where i get lost relics. I have gotten 4 more in the past 5 days but sold them all since I didn't need. If you want to find me in game, just message me, look for me, or ask for me. If I think you need to know my spots I will tell you... Or not... But I will tell you one thing that dropped a skull chest that gave me 3 rares and 1 relic... From a Navy Colosus, non flag. Plus i use guns and swords that hit the highest

Honestly, I LIKE the fact Lost Relics are just a little harder to find now.

The addition of the Inventory System brought interest back to the game for A LOT of people. Some, because of the adventure and thrill of getting a new weapon. Others, because they wanted the best weapons out there. The Inventory System took tedious hours of leveling and killing enemies for quests, in to something relatively worth-while.

Why should getting Lost Relics be made easier? Its part of one of those very few challenges in this game at a high level to actually obtain a Lost Relic, and THAT is what keeps people interested - a challenge. If getting a Lost Relic becomes easier, then sooner or later, it will be the same case as with the weapons quest - EVERYBODY has the same weapons, and EVERYBODY becomes bored again.

Now, trading for Lost Relics would be a much better alternative. Say, for example:

Joe the Pirate wants to get himself a Masterwork Sabre. Joe already has a Lost Relic and a few very good Rare Weapons, but he has a preference for Sabres, and thus, wants a very good one. At the same time, James the Buccaneer is looking to get rid of his Masterwork Sabre, as he prefers guns over swords. So, James goes ahead and opens up an auction, with a starting price of 10,000 gold, and a buyout price of either 50,000 gold, or a Buccaneer's Blunderbuss, which just so happens to be Joe's Lost Relic. So, Joe gives James his Blunderbuss, and in exchange, gets his Masterwork Sabre.

...I believe its coming...but they gotta make it different from another game we all know...technicalities...legal stuff....seems like it'd be a piece of cake for the 'make your dreams come true' company don't it?

Jag Wire Jones got El Patron's last night from Dark Hart ( well it could have been today in the wee hours.. I don't remember), but evidently the lost sword is still dropping. I was kinda shocked and was not expecting it.

Yeah.. you got it RIGHT as i got Fury with me 47. ( I hate cannons ) So how come YOU have all the luck??? Hmm???

i got the lost sword of el patron today so that totals up for : 1 relic and 1 el parton :)

Lots of games have it, gonna mention Runes of Magic coz I started playing that again lately, RoM has a weapon/clothes/potions looting thing from dead enemies, trading to anyone on the server online or u can hit the mailbox and send it to anyone on ur server if they're offline so they can check it when they're online. Big difference is there's no such things as generic names on RoM, everyone has dif names, where as on Pirates, a lot of ppl have the same name & u might send it to the wrong person so that won't work well with Pirates. RoM has an auction house on each server too where u can sell ur stuff to the highest bidder.

Cabal Online has a trading server that works really well I think and u have like this acct safety deposit box (separate from character inventory box) where u can stash bunches of stuff in it and it can be accessed by ALL characters on the same account as the one ur on. I really want something similar to this coz I wanna ditch all my low lvl relics to my lower lvl pirates.

There was a time, when buying a war frigate meant using nearly all your gold. Back in the day, on these very forums, it was fairly common to see someone complain that their child had sold their war frigate (or even all of their ships.)

Either the new programmers have never read "Catcher in the Rye" or they think perhaps they really are helping "protect the children" by not allowing trading. For learning valuable life-lessons about trades and verification, scams and trickery, I personally would like my kids to learn it somewhere like this - an online game where it really doesn't matter. "You let someone trick you into selling your lost sword of El Patron for 10 gold doubloons? No POTCO for you, for 3 days."

...at the very least they could go ahead and initiate trading between our pirate characters..especially in unlimited memberships.....if my 'youngest' pirate finds a great sword and can't use it for ten levels...why can't we trade it up to one of our 'older' pirates..and vice versa...it makes no sense...they are all being played by same member after all...

I agree that a trading system would be awesome fun. I can't read Disney's mind or their playbook but I'm thinking one reason they do not is because of the online scamming that occurs with games that have it. People pay REAL money to obtain virtual items from in-game avatars. They may be attempting to avoid this situation.

To combat RL trading, Runescape started imposing several restrictions. Players could only trade a certain amount of gold, 5000 is the start. A Barter service or immediate selling and buying service called the Grand Exchange was introduced. Either way I would want Trading for POTCO. I prefer it without much restrictions, so I can trade with my classmates.
And Edward, I think you're wrong by saying that POTCO will not put Trading or will not because of child-safety. Recently if you recall, they did mention Trading and More items (along with blacksmithing, crafting, jobs, etc.) to be coming in the game, in that opinion poll where many people had complaints about not being able to complete it fully.

i have 20 relics, soyou can get more then 3 relics.
it's very hard to get, it was easier when it was first released.
i got relic from the level 50's in tormenta and darkhart.

I have gone months with zero, now this. Funny thing is most of it was found in the treasure room on Tormenta.

Now all I want is to find some rare and famed daggers, and staffs.

I don't think there are any famed or rare daggers, at least i've never seen any and i think the same goes for staffs.

Well I got two in one week from darkhart once.

I ended up getting two from Darkhart yesterday.. my first two.

I have two Relics - Lucky Charm (got it twice) and today I got a Seven Seas Cutlass!

Just out of curiosity, am I the only pirate who has seen a 'light sabre' in a loot pouch and thought it would be a glowing stick that went 'whumph whumph" every time it was swung around?

lol when i saw the light sabre my first thought was "it's crude!! I can use it! yay!"

My friend thought that it was going to be a Light Saber from Star Wars.

Well maybe it's just a coincidence that you got those Famed weapons, and that I got one. This drought is needed if in case Trading were to come any time soon. Blacksmithing should also have something about making weapons, but cursing and enchanting them with the Voodoo material creating skill (both promised with the Opinion Polls)

It wasn't really a coincidence (at least for me), I just never spent any time trying to get weapons prior to this week.

I have one, from a Navy Soldier on Kingshead, a Gatling Repeater Pistol, the weaksest of Famed repeater pistols, but I still like it :)

Just got two relics in Cannon Defense. A Steel Cannon Ram and a Wool Cannon Ram. They are both pretty much useless, but they are relics. Brings me up to 17 now.
