Captain Walter Has Gone Missing...

A few weeks back Captain Walter vanished. Since then the Marceline Guild has been searching tirelessly for their beloved leader. Recently, Sandra Tew started having visions about the good captain. Her visions have led the Marceline Pirates to believe that Captain Ezekiel Rott is behind Captain Walter's disappearance. Rumor has it that Captain Rott bears a long time grudge against Captain Walter and vowed to settle the score one day. Trusting Sandra's visions, the Marceline Guild plans to interrogate Captain Ezekiel Rott. Help the Marceline Guild find the vile Captain Rott to learn the truth about where Captain Walter may be!

What: Help the Marceline Guild find Captain Rott to learn the truth about Captain Walter's whereabouts.

When: Saturday, May 15 from 2 p.m. - 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. - 6 p.m.
Sunday, May 16 from 2 p.m. - 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. - 6 p.m.

Is it just me, or are they really increasing the number of GM events for whatever reason? New quest background?

Or nothing really new to offer. It can go either way.

I have showed up to 4 of these things! When will they stop???

i dont know but this seems fun! ill go! ( but im afraid of the low lvls throwing things everywhere.) im pretty sure that this would end up making everyone hat rott.. agian.. come on hes a NCP!? :p

This might be a continuation to a Raven Cove story, especially with Walter's whereabouts being "disappeared with The Magic after fighting the Fleets, to the Cove".
Rott might be an NPC on Padres but for this its a GM. Imagine them surrounding an NPC and asking it questions, LOL!

Oh for the love of Pete, TSC.......Anyway, I'd like to think that this is all leading somewhere important, but it's pretty obvious that we're not going to accost Rott as an NPC. They're probably going to remove him soon, or at least for that day.

How's this? Are they trying to lead us to Raven's Cove? Think about it...they're on the search for Walter, who was on his way to Raven's Cove or something, right? So, what they'll do is release Raven's Cove to test and let us see that there's no bugs on the island, then, as another GM event, they'll reveal the island on live, shrouded in fog or something in the waters, then the next week they actually open it to us so we can "Find Walter". Could that be a possibility?

Somehow me thinks, that ole Captain Walter is being kept in Raven´s Cove by Rott, that scurvy dog.

Or maybe we'd be having a new villain introduced in this. Say, Captain Rott was hypnotized by Davy Jones or the Shadow Lord to do his bidding, to capture Captain Walter who knows the location of the mysterious Headstone in Padres.... Seriously, they should implement other Pirates of the Caribbean villains. There are loads of them other than JR, Beckett and Jones. Madame Minuit can be resurrected on New Orleans. Left Foot Louis and Silverback can be resurrected on Isla Fortuna. Captain Torrents can be resurrected as to serving Davy Jones again. Isla Sirena can be added with Morveren, Aquala and Aquila (and Syrena, once POTC 4 comes). Hernando Cortes can be guarding the Sword of Cortes, which has once again been stolen by another villain (say Shadow Lord) from Tia Dalma. And the Shadow Lord can resurrect the army of shadows as another evil force in the Caribbean. Isla Estequila can once again have Stone Eyed Sam as a ghost guarding it, as part of the story chapter

Speedway discoverd something interesting when talking to an NPC. They are talking of new islands coming up out of the sea and El Patron's weapons. If I remember correctly, lol, people have been complaining for years now about lack of new weapons and islands. Seems we are finally getting them. This is a role playing game. I say go with the flow of the story that Disney gives and be happy we have new stuff.

Captian Walter is obviously on the run from cyborg maghines from the future.

He saw the new Iron Man 2 and is scared of robots now... :laughks2: Seriously though I think more islands will be part of the next update on test.. that or more invasions on other islands that The Non-Playable Character's have been talking about too. They also talked about that Jolly Roger will not stop until he is defeated.. permanently.. Could this mean he will finally be defeated for good.. in the near future? I dont see Jolly ever being completely defeated in POTCO. This was created with him as the ultimate enemy of Jack Sparrow and he has a score to settle. Now I could see an end to the fued between them in another story chapter, but as far as an end to Jolly Roger, that will never happen.

He's probably looking for a job in the NBA, since he now knows that he can play basketball better than lebron james xD

Where have The Others taken Walter! (yes it's another LOST reference). Seriously though, in my most humble opinion it seems that POTCO is giving Walter an importance over Jack Sparrow. They are just including this new character and it serves no real purpose. Lets assume that this is part of the new chapter. How are the new players, those that sign up after all of this hype, going to carry from chapter one to chapter two if the event is unlikely to repeat itself?
They either make him like Rott and give him a quest or take this whole story apart.

this may just mean that either rott or jolly (or both..) took away his strength to make him stay on the island... ( i think captain walter will just show up in the hosting.. since its at cuba and everyones gonna be all like "OMG!! itS hiM!!!!!") If im right my pirate budz owe meh 2 bucks :p

Ok.. I heard we will all find out his fate on Monday, and that he is NOT dead. Ever heard of a "false trail" before? In my opinion Captain Walter got stranded on one of those new islands that The Non-Playable Characters (NPC's) are talking about by none other than Captain Ezekiel Rott. Rott took his soul to Jolly Roger, and he escaped (credit for this part goes to one of my friends who I talked to last night but anyway) His ghost form or whoever he is now, is trapped on one of the new islands. He sent a ghost form to communicate aka "I'm so..weak". Maybe It took up alot of his "power/magic" to send a ghost form/message to all of us? One of my friends before the GM Event saw on that server on Cuba, Captain Ezekiel Rott and a "blue orb" (which could be known other than our good captain..Captain Walter) enter The Tavern on Cuba. When the door closed "the blue orb" was gone. Ok, so what do we know now from this? Any Ideas? Please add in your opinion after mine. Soooo, he's dead BUT not dead? Does that mean he's a zombie?!? I don't think a zombie would make a good GM...

Does anyone have any screenies? or even a full story of what we learned from this GM event? I wasn't able to make it and would really appreciate someone filling me in.. :)

With the dropped NPC hints of new islands and Walter was referring to pirates learning the truth - they are likely connected to the new islands coming soon.

And just a little comment.

Why is everything in the game now being done through the Marceline or the Muertos? Jack, Will, Elizabeth, Tia and the others have little or not say at all in what's happening. Does that bother anyone else?

I mean - Sandra is now doing all the voodoo stuff and spirit stories, forget about Tia. Walter was doing a lot of the leading etc. The movie characters are being left out of everything. Not that the Marcelines aren't interesting but they're not why we came to the Caribbe.

A lot of this may also mean that we may not be seeing a Chapter 2 anytime soon. Because if it doesn't ALL tie into the next chapter - we're being distracted.

:cat-ani: The reason why it is being done is probably economics. A few interns with a script are cheap compared with getting Johnny Depp, Orlando Bloom and Kiera Knightly to do the voices for the cut scenes.

Agreed. I think it would have been much cooler if they just made Jack, Elizabeth, Will, and Tia characters instead of Walter and Sandra and such. They could have had them appear and do these "GM" events instead. I would appreciate that MUCH more than I do these sightings. Not to say I don't like the way they are doing it, it's just I would prefer to see actual game characters interacting with us pirates instead. Just my opinion....

Disney wouldn't have to pay Depp, Bloom or Knightley anything in order to use the characters in the GM events. There are no voices, and it is Disney who owns the characters, not the actors. It doesn't matter WHO is doing the typing of the script during an event.

The entire GM event thing used to be previews of things to come, hints of how to play the game, discussions about new releases, and sometimes crewing up to go sail.
Now, the GM events are almost an entire different game than the original POTCO. They have grown into their own lore, story lines, and characters. They have absolutely no relationship to 'being' a pirate.

It's almost as if there are 2 different groups of developers at Disney, and each of them has totally different ideas of where the future of the game is going. One group wants it to be an MMORPG, "BE a pirate, sink the enemy ships, plunder the Caribbean."
The other group wants it to be a dinner mystery theater. (Here's the clues, solve the mystery. Tongiht's episode, "Who killed Captain Walter?" Next week, "Which of the shrouded islands does the Muertos Guild use as a hideout?")

I'm more of a pirate. Others are more into the mystery part. But you CAN be one without being involved in the other.

The next story chapther might be about Elizabeth. Think her FATHER has NOT been found yet. Maybe you have to go find her father. Just a thought and captain walter is a ghost so far because of a duel with Rott.

Maybe that is so, Dog! It sounds right, at least.

They never even USED Depp or any of the original cast - except Mr. Gibbs and HIS stuff never has been used!!

I'm not talking about using cinematics, just STORY elements. I'm not daft about budgets folks.

I don't understand... last summer Walt took down ALL THE EITC, MAKES THEM RETREAT, and just 'dies' from a mere sword fight with a dead guy, really? The most important marceline guild member dies in a duel, imo he was set up! Rott vs Walt, Walt could have easily taken him down alone if not in his sleep, but now we'll see if something occurred that stopped Walt from escaping.
