Test Server Problems???
 

Can't get on test. Big update and now? Can't get past the loading screen.

Anyone else have problems?

Mine says it's updating....still has over 5 minutes left@ 30%. I dunno.

I'm in after my update. I don't know what's up with you though.

Nope, it's a no go. Ten minute update and then booted right to the report a bug screen.

Probably that and maybe Raven Cove. But again we dont know yet lol. But, i do really hope that they fix this soon. :'( :( :/

I'm not entirely sure on Raven's Cove. I'm thinking it will just be the mini-games because that's what they've been advertising. Does this include the cannon places, like in Fort Charles and the like?

Just got on thru the browser entry. Nothing new here that I have found. Just very, very few people...

I hope you understand that an update might be a patch ;) it doesnt mean something new comes with every update.

Yah. But still, now that they've announced the mini-games, we're expecting them. Maybe they're prepping for the arrival or something, idk...

A patch is where they fix up problems in the game.

Personally, I hope it's mini-games, and NOT Raven's Cove.

I want to be distracted for a good two to three months before some even better comes out.

Nothing is new on the browser version of Pirates Online Test, but a 20 minute update to The Test Game would be a patch? I don't know. I guess i will have to check back in the morning. :'( : ( :/

I kind of think they released the mini-games too early though. I mean, we just got the weapons. While some people may not like the new changes, it was something to keep us distracted for a while. Maybe they should have waited another month to announce this, after we had gotten past the newness that is these weapons.

Ok, if its a patch, then they need a patch to fix the patch... cant get on other than through browser. I personally dont like playing through browser.

It would make sense that if it isnt the patch then its the minigames. It was Thrusday the 22nd that they announced them to the world on Disney Channel in that Get Connected interview. And by them doing that, makes a lot of non testers anxious for them to be added.

I'm gonna try again tomorrow afternoon. Hopefully no more being sent to the bug report or losing internet connection...

Sometimes Devs will invoke the update but not turn on the various new content/systems yet. They want to see how it affects the users' computer systems first. Later when their data shows that the client-server handshakes are stable, they will start "allowing" users access to various new updated areas.

About 30% of the games I've tested do it this way. The other 70% just open up the content and get tons of bugs all at once.

When it dumped me to the Report a Bug webpage, I perused the Game Log information. I found that it choked on:

On my account/computer: Live is version 1.0.24.8 per Live Login screen. Test client is listed as 1.0.23.8. Test version is listed as...well, I won't type that here. I don't know who can peruse this forum section.

I wonder if these are also choking your entry from the desktop login?

Probably either bug fixes im guessing.
I do hope that I am wrong i only want the test server log in glitch/bug/issue. I do really hope though that its an update, either Raven's Cove Island, The New Cannon Defenses, or... Mini-Games. :) :/

Test isn't in maintenance anymore, there is however, a very long update. Probably another patch.

No idea what else it did, but the update fixed the launcher issue. Logged on with no problem. Options were reset to defaults but pirates are as they should be.

Ugh this is a huge disappointment. I hoped it would be just that bug fix and an update to the game like: Raven's Cove Island, The New Cannon Defenses, or The Mini-Games.

lol James, whatever they release you will soon be anxious for the next new update, which isn't necessarily a bad thing

When they're ready to release the updates they will.. who are we to say if the mini-games, or Raven's Cove are ready? I mean.. they advertised SvS for a while before it happened, new islands before it happened, an inventory before it happened.. they even mentioned the Kraken before, and that's not even here.

If the update is good (in the sense that bugs are limited), then the more time the better.

I just saw on TV a commercial on the Disney channel plugging POTCO. In the commercial they say theres now potions that allow you to run faster and upgrade your weapons. REALLY??? I havent seen those yet! Maybe this is that... I laughed when I saw the commercial.

The versions match now so that latest patch fixed the mismatch/not allowed to log in issue.

Thanks for everyone on the Invasion of Padre island. My first and I had no problems finding a Crew. Got stunned by a few of those Keggers but other than that...dem pirates were getting mowed down by pistol/blunderbust fire as soon as they stepped foot on the beach! -)
