This will be a great time for us to ask what Ravens Cove looks like......

The Skirata Clan 04-21-2010 08:11 PM

So... Is this a storytelling corner type thing?

The Evil Will Mcbain 04-21-2010 08:22 PM

Cool, listening to a story will be a nice break from looting. The person who is most excited about this is doubtless General Darkheart ;)
Wait, April 18 is already past!

Yes, darkheart has been taking a whooping the last week or so by people looking for weapons... I saw him curl up on the ground and cry for his mama

Raikel 04-21-2010 08:26 PM

How do you release news of an event that has already happened but hasn't?

The Evil Will Mcbain 04-21-2010 08:28 PM

I'm pretty sure they mean this weekend, but that's strange. (unless we have to wait till next year)

The Skirata Clan 04-21-2010 08:35 PM

Maybe this is for the new time traveling ship that's coming out. Or we are supposed to go down a cave and turn a wheel that will make us time travel like LOST and the only way to fix it is by throwing a grenade down that cave. Or maybe we shall gather parts and invent a flux capacitor and make it work with the lighting ammo. Or maybe it's just a typo.

Sarah 04-21-2010 08:39 PM

I've scratched my head, rubbed my eyes and checked POTCO's site three times....yeah, either we are time traveling this weekend, or they need to hire a new news typist.

LOL

Eliza Creststeel 04-21-2010 09:41 PM

Noooo, not time traveling.

The article said they would discuss WITNESSING the battle between Jolly and EITC, back when it supposedly happened.

It did NOT say we would going anywhere.

Sven Osymthe 04-21-2010 09:55 PM

Yes, but the dates for the event are days that have passed :D

katbluedog 04-21-2010 11:28 PM

Dates are wrong...

I noticed that too because the dates are for early this week. It should say Saturday, April 24 and Sunday, April 25 . So far, we can not time travel to the dates they have listed. :piratewheelgo2:

Kat Five Knives 04-22-2010 05:10 AM

LOL surely it's a type-0 or just someone looking at the calendar on the wrong week.. Can't believe they haven't noticed it by now...

Proves they are only human too.

The Skirata Clan 04-22-2010 05:11 AM

Or lazy robots.

Midhav 04-22-2010 07:07 AM

Yes must be lazy robots. And all of the above.

Edward Edgemenace 04-22-2010 02:58 PM

The "Current News" is a Disney-internal blog. The public-facing side of the blog is cached so that they have a buffer before stuff is released to the general public. The RSS-feed from the blog is what feeds the "current news" that appears on the left side of launcher1.exe, but that has an additional level of caching (always a step further behind for an additional buffer.) Apparently, the brand new staff at Disney isn't down with the system...the Apache "squid" servers show them the full listing on their intra-net (where they get to seed comments for blog entries, if they so choose) but they obviously don't think to check and see how it looks from the Internet.

Hint for Disney: when you post the "next" news item, the previous news item is finally pushed to the public servers.

This isn't the first time they've goofed by about a week. The "defeat a skeleton" contest thing was announced on the last day of the week-long event...presumably so the "winners" could be informed in advance, while nobody else knew about the contest until it was over. Was it coincidence that they broke the leaderboards around that same time?

Eliza Creststeel 04-22-2010 03:04 PM

LOL!

Silly me! I had to update the event on our guild's site to fix the dates. Interesting. Wonder why they decided to postpone the event from last week.

Mark bladeflint 04-22-2010 03:12 PM

Ooh, does this mean that we have to find a magic time traveling staff to teleport us all back in time! ( I'm being sarcastic fyi ).

Blah, well I was probaly not going to go to it anyway, too many 'WHEREZ DA KRAKN" people.

Captain Seafarer CO. 04-22-2010 04:22 PM

I can just see annoying noobs drawing their weapons constantly, pestering, getting KO'd by the GM's,,, nah, I'll pass,,, meeting GM's for a story telling it's gonna be as much fun as getting sunk at the very end of an EITC expedition,,, and missing it while you are breaking out of jail....

BTW, can I purchase the time warp sloop from the shipyard or is it fight drop?

Midhav 04-22-2010 05:07 PM

Okay. A few hours ago I left them a comment pointing out their mistake

Now I just checked and they've updated their news item : it is 24th and 25th, confirmed.

OP has been updated to reflect the date change on the official site. Thanks for the heads up. ;)

The Skirata Clan 04-22-2010 07:29 PM

Wait! So now the rest of the posts won't make sense.

Midhav 04-23-2010 03:45 AM
