Test down for maintenance.
 

Triedl ogging on and it said it was closed to maintenance. Hope they're fixing bugs.

Test is back up. There is a rather long update too... however I don't assume it's anything major - probably just fixes, if that.

Well.. I was wrong. We were reset, again. A new load screen was added... and I don't know what else as of this post.

edit: All of the bugs i've experienced that are connected with the inventory are fixed (at least to me). Gold is now displayed above the tab (if it wasn't before - I didnt notice)

On top of that.. everyones body is now switched to the newer models.. at least in my case..

Bosses I have tried no longer drop ALL the time.

I spent all day leveling weapons...

So we can get certain treasures from the EITC fleets now? Well, probably gotta go after them to see or not. Hopefully this update is ready for live if there aren't any more bugs.

They reset everything back to the way it was prior to the update being released. I was level 18 at the time, reached level 20.. back to 18.

Was just posting one more thing, the amount of gold an item is worth is now displayed on the item itself (when the card comes up)

I was level 19, but now I'm back down to level 13. I'm really frustrated, but thankful that this isn't on the live server.

Man... and no one I know has been able to get any treasure drops from the enemies. Uh... I hope this doesn't mean we won't be seeing any loot drops for a while.

I've received around 7 loot sacs and 1 treasure chest since the recent update. *Got one while posting this.. lol

They are easier to get if you kill common enemies - not bosses. I got a lot off scorpions and in Fort Charles.

edit: make that 8 loot sacs.. that being said, only got 3 weaker weapons from them. No clothing, and a lot of cards.

Have anyone notied your body look different now?

Yep.. we all put on some weight it seems.. I don't really mind it though, it was odd seeing some people different than others.

Well I, for one, have just about had it.

Being a tester is a big deal. I get that. I have argued that testers just need to stop complaining and just test. Either that or go play on the open server. But this is just too much to ask. Set back a day? OK. A couple of days? OK...sort of. But an ENTIRE WEEK? Without so much as a thanks, sorry or "brace yourselves"?

Exactly HOW is this designed to make me want to keep testing ANYTHING? I really just don't even want to try because I know that it means nothing. This ridiculous Groundhog's Day loop has really just sucked the joy right out of this update. This is a standard inventory system that looks like it came out of a 1995 RPG. But these guys can't even spell "Khaki" without messing it up.

And this body change thing. Two years of looking at the same kind of pirate. And now it's different. Without warning. And, I may add, completely out of proportion. My pirate looks like he has a little bitty upper body tacked on to a comically large lower body. And for NO reason whatsoever.

I might feel different in the morning but right now? I have exactly ZERO use for this game.

Aye boss drop have gone down alot, as stated above get more from common. Quality of drops has gone down also but still getting them. I talked to a guy who had a Mac and had just got to log on, so welcome to the fun house.

P.S. I know this is a bit off topic, but if you watch the whole hour long video, this guy talks about animation in toontown and pirates online.

Does he explain why my pirate had to go from looking like a heroic, rough-and-tumble figure of a man to looking like an out of work house painter?

Sorry Mate, but they did say Brace yourselves. In previous release notes they said we may be reset while they fix the system. I took that to mean multiple times before hitting live and not just for the weekend chaos last week. Expected this to happen, and worth it for all of the good bug fixes.

I know. I get that part. And for some reason I want to point out that it is not the loot I care about. The progress though... going from level 41 to 42 and raising three weapons from 22 to 24 was actually a lot of work. I know what they are doing and I know why. But it is everything. Take that one quote out of context and I look like a test noob.

But it is the timing, the simple mistakes, the lack of communication, and the fact that no one at any time told me that my pirate was going to change shape. I am sorry but I really think that is what set me off last night. I don't get it. I don't like it and it might just be a deal breaker for me.

It's more than likely that the new body types are easy for animation than the older body types, and that's why they've been changed.

If it wasn't that, then there's no reason at all why they would take away the old body types.
