Release Notes - March 29, 2010

• An AI crash when equipping sea charms has been fixed

Known Issues - March 25, 2010

• It may take several seconds for your inventory to load in. Please be patient.

• There are various client crashes that we are currently looking into. Fixes will be forthcoming as we find solutions to them.

• Equipping an item directly from the loot drop onto a slot that is full will cause a crash to the desktop. A fix is coming soon.

I waited patiently and still nothing. :'( :( :/ hey im not complaining but still...

Nice to see them addressing these issues.

Hopefully these fixes will come by the end of the week.

It doesn't say that the Mac Test is fixed and open. Is it?

Nope, so all you guys on the Mac are really lucky... well, I wouldn't call it luck, that you won't have to go through all of this mess.

Test is down again, but with a different message, I'm starting to wonder of this update will go live anytime this year.

Yup i guess they are fixing again i'm sure they well get the weapon back and alot errors. But remember it's just a test. We make sure is right before it hits on live :pirate2:

i hope its back up and running by morning eastern time it shouldnt take long should it for them to fix it i mean they did close test for like 4 days. Let's just keep our hopes up and be patient that its a quick and simple Maintenance.:piratewheelgo2:

My concern is that The Mac Testers are cut out. Which means to me that whatever issues exist on Mac Test might go to Mac Open.

I'm sure if they... wait, there are Mac only bugs?

Well, I'm sure if they fix the bugs for PCs that by the time they get it working on the Mac those bugs will be history.

I mean if Mac people can't play... Then Mac people can't test... And then Mac people on Open start having issues and the next thing that happens is that D is getting complaint after complaint and they can't fix it.

Then again, Moderators for their staff might be able to log on to their Macs and could be fixing problems there.

And it's back up again....hmmm... Sounds suspicious....

Yeah, a bit bored of waiting, but as people say here, all the best things come with waiting...

Aye seems to be working now. They reset everyting so have to relevel some stuff but no big deal, not so bad when ya getting cool new gear

The reason would be to TEST the bugs. This is the test server so I don't understand why everyone is flipping out about losing everything... Nothing is guaranteed on test.

:mickeypiratezd4: I do too. I do not understand the complaints about test. It is called TEST for a reason.

It's still up; maybe they're about ready to make the switch to Open. After hours ( days ) of Test being " closed for maintenance" it might finally be time...

I have a test account but it is only lvl one so I don't use it much (just to check out the new system when it was realeased) so can anyone tell me if the bugs are still there. I know from James that mac users still can't get in, sorry to here that, but "I'm Pride of Pearl, and I'm a PC"

and test is down once again for maintenance i hope they fix this soon :/

I reported a few NEWER bugs, from after the big fix that took 3 or 4 days. I think they might be fixing some of those... and hopefully I might ablet o log in to test again after days of waiting. I'm starting to lose my patience... but hopefully most testers will be able to get on soon.

The last time they were trying to fix bugs, they accidently brought new ones in, so who knows? I say that we are lucky... since we get to report these bugs... and the more of us report it, the more chance of getting a fix, the less chance of having these horrible bugs on live.like Jamesvsthekraken, I couldn't log in to test cuz it kept saying it lost connection to the servers. I inspected it, and it was downloading the islands, as i could see in the background, the top, right corner. That means I did not lose connection, so it was, after all, a bug.

Yes James, only Disney knows. However, an update this big needs to be thoroughly tested before it gets released. A few days is not thorough. Especially since mac users still can't log on (last I heard). It may come out soon, but don't get your hopes up. Personally, I think someone needs to get El Patron's sword that turns you into a ghost so that aspect can be tested before it is released. You never know what can cause something to go crazy. But, once again, who knows.

Actually, I don't think Disney knows yet since they keep introducing new bugs. They probably have a date set but will postpone it if there are major issues. I never had much patience in the first place, now I have less....

If the update is working the exact way they intended, that could be possible. But considering how long Test has been unavailable for people to test, I don't see this happening. The developers have been focused on the major problems with Test for a couple of days. Without testers having access to Test during that time period, only bugs that the developers themselves discover will be noticed.. so it could take longer than that.

Yes, the El Patron's sword definitely needs some testing. But who knows? It's the rarest weapon out there.... a tester might not get it for weeks, if not months. There is probably a bug on the sword, but no one knows when we will discover that one. If we had to wait for a tester to find El Patron's sword, then disney would have to make it less rare, which I don't see happening, or else we would simply get the update on live maybe even next year. Already, the update is delayed for live (3 or 4 days of no testing when there should be basically a lot of testing, and disney introduced new bugs during that? Seems like it wil be released later then it should be), so I don't think Disney have time for us to discover the rarest weapon in the game. If someone finds it before the open, then yes, Disney will probably delay it a little cuz of the sword, but I simply don't see that happening right now.

While I understand its test I was discouraged after it being shut down for a couple of days and when it came back up nothing seemed to have changed but Big D has been making progress pretty quick since it seems and they are closing often to work on the site so hats off to the Devs. I am betting they are putting in some big hours at work right now and look to be getting stuff done. So when is it coming live? don't know but looks like they are working hard to make it soon.

Um, I HIGHLY doubt that sword is even in the game right now. They didn't say you could "actually" find it from some random ship or enemy. I bet that sword will not be in the game just like another sword. I mean, only one pirate would be getting the sword, so I doubt NO pirate is going to get it. Because it doesn't say, "El Patron's SWORDS". It says "El Patron's SWORD. Unless the game is just going to have 100000000 El Patron Swords, then no pirate is going to get it I'm sure. There is only ONE kind of that sword, and I think if anyone is going to get it, it's going to be Beckett, Jolly Roger, or Captain Walter. And besides, if it would turn you into a ghost, then you wouldn't get hurt. And that just wouldn't be right in the game..... unless Disney makes it so you would still get hurt, but that wouldn't make sense at all now would it? That's just how I see it.

I think it's really important, as Beorn said, that El Patron's sword is tested.

I think they should give the sword to some of the higher level players to test just to make sure it works. We don't want this going live and then having a whole lot of problems.

^ I'm pretty sure the sword is on test, just VERY rare.

I think we (unlimited access people) will be able to have the sword and not just have it for one pirate because that would be like unfair. :(

Yeah, I see what you mean, but if there were more that would mess up the plot! I mean, it doesn't say El Patron had a million of them. Only one. So it would be pretty odd to see everyone having an El Patron's Sword at the same time. "This powerful blade once belonged to the famous conquistador, El Patron himself. According to legend, the blade was cursed with El Patron's last breath and his soul now haunts the blade." Now, I for one see a "this" at the beginning... not a "these". And a "the" in it. Not an "a". So It looks like there would be only one of them. It says he cursed IT with his last breath. Lol. So if more than one can have it, then it should say, "El Patron took all the swords out of his pocket and cursed them all". Am I right? I'm pretty sure no one is getting this sword except for Jolly Roger or some other evil guy or perhaps Capt. Walter. I very well could be wrong, but what Disney was saying about El Patron's Sword a few days ago, looks to be like proof that there is only one.

Buck, you have a really good point.

Now this is just a guess, but I think Disney isn't really going to take that into account, and every player will have the same chance to get the sword.(although it will be really rare, and we should be lucky to even find one.)

I for one hope they don't care about the fact there's only one sword, and we can all get it. Of course it'd be silly to see everyone with the same sword, but if you think about it, they can make the sword as rare as possible. It can be as rare as the clothing drops before the new inventory system. I never once was able to get a clothing drop on open, and if the sword is this rare, it will be worth getting.

Yeah, I don't really see Disney doing that. The ONLY way they could is if they give it to those you mentioned (the main enemies or Capt. Walter). If there is only one item, it wouldn't be fair to make it available to only one player, it must be available to everyone. That being said, just because it should be available doesn't mean it shouldn't be difficult to get. As Mac said, this weapon should be extremely rare.

Not really different from how Live currently is :laughks2:

Here's something I'd like to bring up. The Toontown Test Website is ALSO down for maintenance. Could there be some internal issues that Disney is having, that we OURSELVES don't know about?

As for the weapons, I hadn't come online since the weapons even came on, so I don't know anything. When I found out about it, the Test Server was closed ( Which was yesterday night - lucky me ). My guess is that this might last for some time.

The sword will most likely NOT be one and only one. Look at it from a solo perspective. You play the game as you and its YOUR adventure. therefore to you yeah it is his sword that you found and you wont find another one on that character. Many game developers break story line for the gear it has in play.

My guess is it will be a boss drop or a quest chain. If its a quest chain they could further limit to say Founders only or unlimited & founders only. just some thoughts...

It's very possible but toontown test wasn't down for the whole weekend, was it? I didn't see anything on TTC about it being down this long.

I checked the website about 3 days ago, and it was down for maintenance. It could have been for the whole weekend, but I am not sure. All I know is that as of yet, both Test Servers are down for maintenance this very second. All we can do is wait and hope for the best.

Yeah, at first I thought it would be out Easter weekend, but no I'm predicting the weekend of the tenth, probably Friday the Ninth.

Yes, I could be entirely wrong that the sword wouldn't be on the game for just a regular player. I just don't see Disney giving someone a sword that can turn you into a ghost. Perhaps they will do that, but I thought ghosts can't get hurt, and if they don't get hurt, well, then the person with the sword would be level 30 quickly going to 50 in a few days.

It could be like a break or defence attack. Maybe... :)

OH so it could be something like brawl or taunt, or life drain or shackles, or hex eater, or like a throwing asp to break an attunement. Maybe it could give you time to heal... !!!

The skills, from what I can now see now that Test is active, are pretty nice. I can't see the pistol, seeing as me not leveling my Pistol has struck back at me, what I CAN see is amazing. I especially like the High/Low Cut and other skills in that combo line.

Warning: This might just be me, but do not draw your pistol. It causes me to crash ( Others crashed me once - never again ), and it could happen to you.
Just figured I'd warn you guys ( It's a Double-Barrel Pistol, but it could also effect other types ).
