Release Notes - March 25, 2010

• El Patron's Lost Weapons have been found!
• Hundreds of new weapon items can now be discovered in-game.
• Enemies and ships now drop loot containers, which contain a variety of treasure.
• Sailing Items can be found in loot containers, which can help improve your sailing skills.
• New skills can be found on some of these new weapons. These skills can only be used when the weapons are being used. There are also two new types of skills:
• Break Attacks - Powerful special attacks that can be used when you are in a tough battle. These skills only recharge when you take damage. Completing a Combo Attack also helps recharge a Break Attack.
• Defense Skills - These skills protect the player by automatically blocking incoming attacks. Defense skills recharge normally and cannot be triggered manually by the player.
• Pirates now have 4 Weapon Slots, so you can choose what weapons you have equipped.
• Pirates now have 1 Sailing Item Slot, which gives the pirate bonuses while sailing or using cannons.
• Some new items are also available in stores for purchase.
• Pirates can now change their clothes, tattoos and jewelry without having to visit stores.

Known Issues - March 25, 2010

• Mac users are unable to log into the Test Servers. We're working to resolve this soon.
• Crash may occur when collecting an item and placing it in a slot that already has an item. Work Around: Use the right-mouse button to collect items or make sure a slot is empty when plundering items.
• During the Barbossa pistol tutorial, you may not be able to shoot the monkey. You may press 'Esc' to continue with the tutorial.
• Some Spanish and French Undead may have weird motion trails on their weapons.

It looks cool, just got off test...wont understand it more till it comes on live and i can see how it works with my high lvl pirates, and unlimited.

Cool. i cant wait to try these cool new features out. :)

There are also new weapon quests according to a friend of mine.. i'm too low to know though.

OF COURSE it doesn't work for Mac. Of stinkin course.

I had weapon upgrade quests appear in my log, but they were ones that I already did. I am not doing Pirate lore again for nothing. lol.

Loot Plunder
Currently killing stuff trying to plunder some of the new weapons, no luck still. This is how you will be notified of a new loot.





New Skill
There is also a new skill in staff called Spirit Summoning where you just have to click on the skill and it doesnt charge at all. But once you get attacked, you cant use the skill anymore (probably until you log out)

I found a lot of new as well as old items. Got quite a few weapons, 4 pistols which required a certain level to use (various ranges, but above 15). I also found a doll that does -1 damage to you and those that you attune.

The only disappointing thing about the update is the addition of the crossbones bandana to the drops. It's nice to have, but it takes away the point of having it as a event only item.

Cothes drops appear to be much more common now got 3 in 1 1/2 hrs 2 common 1 rare whaling jacket, it was purple.

well test crashed on me..

this whole thing is confusing...also why is it that basics cannot buy tonics??

One of my pirates was last on Cuba before the update and now I cant use him everytime it tries to load Cuba the game crashes.

That's why I have a backup, Windows 7 on Boot Camp ;)

Since TT test is still down (for the 3rd straight day), I will be on POTC test this morning in the top ocean.

Also, I found a bug, appearently I was able to "purchase" the large pouch for daggers but it was never added to my character, I want my gold back!

why not much talk about the new stuff?? I remember times when stuff was released on test and there would be pages and pages of replies...

going on test now to test some things...basics still cannot buy tonics -_-

So far:

The weapons drops seem to happen often. Not sure if that will hold true on open.

Some weapons seem to be fairly common in the drops.
There have been a lot of clothing drops, too. More clothing drops in 24 hours, than I ever heard of in 2 plus years, TOTAL.

I'm not happy with the weapons belt. Mine defaulted with 3 pistols and one cutlass. Changed it all around to suit my needs, but still would rather have had the old F1 through F6 buttons.

It's not really all that intuitive, either.

As far as clothing goes, I could care less about if it's 42 or 49. I have 43 on one pirate on open now. If it goes to 42 plus the original outfit, (I heard this from someone else) then it's 49 total.

Truth be told, all my pirates wear their original outfits, except I took off their coats. The only time I change clothes is for special guild events.

Hmm another bug. Logged on and lost ALL OF MY WEAPONS. PLus my gold! I now have to start collecting all my weapons over again! This is just not fair -_- I found so many rare things just to lose 'em all. Yay. :(

I hope you're sending bug reports.

I was on yesterday and crashed 6 times(reported it).. haven't been on to see if I lost any inventory..

When is test gonna reopen again!? :(

On these forums we could only guess as to when Test will reopen. I would hope soon, but it seemed to me that the inventory issues are somewhat substantial. My guess is tomorrow (Monday) or Tuesday at the latest. Oh well, hopefully I'll have the Lost Sword of El Patron when Test goes back up.

I'm sure it will take a few for Disney to fix the problems, especially since it is the week-end. But the positive side is that when test does comes back up-the bugs should be fixed...at least for the most part.

Aye i just hope its tomorrow i mean it has been 2 days thats the longest i have ever seen test closed for.
