Expedition Fleet has Launched - March 11, 2010

The EITC Expedition Fleet has launched ...March 11, 2010

Calling all hearty Pirates! Now is the time to join in the battle. The meddling mercenaries of the East India Trading Company have learned the location of ... El Patron's Lost Weapons!
Jolly Roger had been working with Lord Beckett, the EITC Commander, to find and share the weapons but Beckett double-crossed Jolly!

Lord Beckett had Jolly Roger invade Padres when the crafty Commander knew all along the weapons were not there. Now while Jolly continues to invade the islands in his search, Beckett is already sending his impressive and powerful Expedition Fleet to the uncharted island of Raven Cove -- the true location of the legendary El Patron's Lost Weapons.

Gather your courage, Pirates! Crew up with your mates, and set sail for a royal battle to sink this forceful fleet before it reaches Raven Cove.

And so much for the EITC-Jolly alliance.

Ben Lockshot 03-11-2010 06:26 PM

Mark bladeflint 03-11-2010 06:38 PM

Thats a big surprise :P ( Not really ). Oh well, looks like the fleet is out XD.

Midhav 03-11-2010 07:40 PM

WooHOO! Right on Cutlery Buckethead, show that Bonehead what ya got.

StellaInTheSky 03-11-2010 08:25 PM

So...forgive me for being a little behind here (and not having test)...are the Fleets going to be like the Invasions, at an allotted time and such?

Basil Dreadflint 03-11-2010 08:29 PM

It seems that way, Stella. They will probably make an announcement, and everyone will have a chance to gather and crew up.

They didn't do it that way on test, but they didn't announce the invasions when they first started on test, either.

I would doubt that D would just throw the fleet out on the sea, and not tell anyone. I would also doubt that they are there continuously. So, the only thing thst makes sense is to announce them.

StellaInTheSky 03-11-2010 08:32 PM

Aye, I figured it was sensible to do them similar to the Invasions but then D has always done things their own way, so I wasn't sure. LOL.

They announced them yes, but there is no delay what so ever. You see the notice get your ship out to sea immediately! I took enough time to ammo an missed the entire thing! There is no 30 minute warning at all. Not even 10. Totally stinks. Ain't even got time to grab a crew, just run. Sigh.....

StellaInTheSky 03-11-2010 09:20 PM

Well...that's just silly. I guess for the next little while I will ammo up as soon as I log in, just in case. LOL.

Jamesvsthekraken 03-11-2010 10:47 PM

i think this is only a temporary event/thing it says march 11th to the 15th on the pirates online site. This must mean Raven Cove must be next (yay :) ) or else something new perhaps? xD :)

Captain Whale 03-11-2010 10:51 PM

Ahoy,

Aye, Kat the fleet went down fairly quickly so I hope they bump them back up to the strength there were on Test before they weakened them. There are a lot more pirate ships showing up. Still I got in on 2 servers worth and it was a good fight while it lasted. They didn't get far though.

Best thing to do is run to your ship - launch and call for a crew enroute - either guild chat or just open your ship up. You can chat at friends on the way too. P)

Note: you may only open your ship, if you want to go instantly insane. JUST SAY NO!

As OK (weak) as these were on test, the release to open seems really bad. Instead of making them harder, they added more lag? Or is it just from speeders? I got to see the treasure icon (on test, that meant I was nearby the real battle.) At that point, my game locks up for 2 minutes (not sure what server that was.) Freeze ends sometime after the end of the battle.

Was if the basic pirates, level 2 to level 5 that boarded my ship that caused the lag? Was it speeders? Was it Disney, trying to make it harder? Man, this was unpleasant...especially compared to test - where things seemed to be ok.

Tom Sharkwash 03-12-2010 12:25 AM

So this is out on open?

combatlizzy 03-12-2010 12:31 AM

Just experienced one on open. Unfortunately, there were only 2 ships that came to fight. A war frigate & my galleon since my alt is only sailing 14. I acted as decoy & sat right in front of Mother ship & hit it with explosives. Didn't seem to hurt it at all. Experienced no lag & as to be expected I got sunk. By the time I got back, the announcement came that the EITC Fleet had survived and was on it's way to Patron. Oh well, better luck next time-hopefully more pirates will be on to stop the expedition.

This might be a temporary event, but pirates online site doesn't say anything about the Fleet only running thru the 15th. The announcement of the fleet launch has no dates listed in it.

And I agree with Captain Whale, D needs to up the toughness of the fleet to where it was when it was first released on test.

If you go to the main page of pirates online.com it clearly says the dates. :piratewheelgo2:

JM Ohara 03-12-2010 04:02 PM

Sure enough it does! Odd that they put over a week into hyping something that will only be 4 days long. It sure does explain the almost continuous run of invasions an fleets yesterday. Course after 4 days of that I imagine a fair few pirates will be going out of their minds sick of constant notices.....

This is very significant! I think pretty much ever since the game started, Jolly and the EITC have been in cahoots. Now, that's suddenly off. The possibiblities are endless!

seafox 03-13-2010 09:26 PM

GM fleet event(was 1:00 pm Eastern) today...

:leprechaun: Just had fleet invasion with gms Sandra Tew and Bonnie O'Bailey....they crewed after the alarm(Abassa server, Port Royal at dock), and by the time crowd calmed down, etc. annoucement that fleet had been sunk,,,so they found another server just started and announced it to crews, but only myself and a couple of others tp'd to it...very quiet server so couldn't crew anymore in time and friends were slow,,,too slow gettin there,,,but it was exciting and we took down one whole Tyrant...lol;) before being surrounded,,,and sunk...only ship there,,,so funny but not funny...I only managed a few screenies...:skull_bullet:

Jeremiah Gungrim 03-13-2010 11:57 PM

These fleets are a tough bunch indeed. They are especially tough for the pirate first-responders who are in the vicinity of the fleet as soon as the message of the fleet deployment pops up. I and 3 other mates each had a war frigate with full crews. All 3 of my mates were sunk within a few minutes of engagement head on with the fleet ships. Then an armada of pirates came in and we eventually sank them all but my ship was nearly destroyed.

Jamesvsthekraken 03-14-2010 11:27 PM

Even with Explosive it takes little damage. These East India Trading Company Fleets are tough. :stcry::stpatricksday2:
