Which movie was better?
 

I liked the second one over the first one.

I liked the original better. It didn't seem to drag on as much, and the second movie had too many unimportant scenes showing monsters.

But I did like the jar of dirt. ^_^

I thought the first was better because the characters were a fresh surprise. In the second you expected JS to act as he did, as well as the others. Don't get me wrong, I still enjoyed them both.

The first movie will live in my mind as the better of the two, but I wonder how much of that is predicated on the fact that there was so much hype the second had to live up to. That, and the second clearly was a setup for the third.

In any case, I enjoyed both.

I loved the second movie - great special effects without being too obvious about it and I loved the ending. My jaw dropped when it WASN'T Captain Jack Sparrow who appeared - Bring on number 3!

Although the first will have a place in my heart forever, I'm personally voting the 2nd movie. I got to see that one at the El Capitan in Hollywood and Geoffrey Rush at the end. That was the BEST! People in the theatre were just shocked, you could hear a collective GASP. :)

Dead Man's Chest was definately a lot better. I remember not being too fond of the first one the year it came out, but as soon as I saw the sequal, I loved it ;)

I personally liked the first one better. I think it had a better story board, and like some others say, it didn't drag on and on and on.

Second one all the way. Though you can't help but love them both.

I prefered the first; it was so much more fun to watch, and I had no idea what to expect with it.

I like the first one better, it's a classic. But the second one is really, really good.

In my opinion, the first movie was better by far. It was funnier and had a better plot... the second one dragged on a bit and... it seemed a bit more... un-piratey? That's it, I suppose... it's hard to describe. :)

Agreed, agreed. The first was great, but there's just something about the second that makes it so much better...

First one, definitely. Better story, didn't drag out forever like the second one did.

POTC2 was a lot better! Not only did it have more of an original storyline, but it was longer, made more sense, and had tons of more action. It was great!

I would have to go with POTC because that movie was good throughout the entire movie, while I did not like the beginning and ending of POTC 2. :)

I would have to pick the first movie because, it has a great theme. Yes POTC2 has a nice theme, but if you think about it it's not done yet POTC3 is going to be out soon. So, I can't really be rating POTC2 until I see POTC3 but right now I like the first one POTC!

I liked them both a lot, but to be honest, I liked the first by far. Though the second was clearly more intense and action-packed, it didn't have the same humor and great plot the first had. The second had its moments, but the first was much funnier and generally more entertaining, so I'd have to say the first.

LOL Captain Blood. A great movie, but it really shouldn't count as it has absoluetly nothing to do with the actual POTC Universe. I voted At World's End - I can't believe that I'm actually more psyched for this than DMC!!!

I'm not going to vote until I've seen the third one.

My favorite would have to be Pirates of
the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black
Pearl. The special effects are really good.

The first was one was a lot more fun, in my opinion.
Elizabeth was too confusing in the second one >_<

I love both movies and I am really getting excited about the third one! But I like the original best.

I preffered the first. The second movie really got long and tiring towards the end. I can't say wether I would have chosen Captain Blood, however, as I haven't yet seen any Errol Flynn flicks.

I have to say out of all three that I have seen, I choose the second. I just didn't get the third one when Tia Dalma was talking all the time, she was just next to impossible to understand, and there was one part where she just talked for a long time, that was crazy. I will buy the third on DVD and use the sub-titles to see what she said, once I have seen the third one again, I will probably say that one. But for now, it's the second. On the first movie, I think it had plenty of action, but not nearly as much as the second and third, but none-the-less, a great story.

P.S. I think the third one was more funny, even though Pintel and Raggeti weren't as good as they were in the second and first.
