Problems with Capturing Althea...

Nevermind all. I was able to capture Althea right after I posted this topic. But thank you all for your help. It's very much appreciated!

Hey Guys,

Does anyone know which EITC flagship I have to board and sink in order to capture Althea? There aren't many EITC flagships to begin with, and the few I've actually been able to board (the Barracuda and Ironwall near Driftwood Island) didn't produce a captured Althea. Can anyone help me out on this one?? Thanks.

I remember having to board quite a few EITC ships. There's usually quite a few flagships near Padres Del Fuego

And it doesn't always work on the first time. I had to capture 3 navy frigate flagships (centurions) before it gave me who I needed to get once.

I'm on the same part of the quest. I need to get a bunch of level 20's to come with me :)

I am on the Althea quest and nowhere does it say board an EITC ship. It does say capture Althea, am I to take the word "capture" to mean I must board the ship?

I have sunk about ten EITC ships with no Althea so I am guessing I do have to board but just checking to see what y'all think about this wording.

Im stuck on this task too. Did you capture her yet?

Nope not yet, I can't even find an EITC ship with a flag. I found one but by the time I got to it someone else had already boarded so that was out.

edit: I must be a blind man. I just read the "description" of the quest and it clearly says, disable and board the ship to capture Althea, haha.

EITC Flagships??
 

Ok I too am stuck on this quest. Where are the EITC flagships. I have seen not more then 2 while sailing around but as soon as I board the ship I am killed by the enemy that are level 20-25. Any help where to find the EITC flagships or a trick to completling this part of the quest?

I too am stuck here. I think the trick is to get a big crew with people who have high level cutlass or dagger. I have seen the flag ships around Cuba too.

Yes, flagships are different. They have flags above them, and to sink a flag ship you need to board it and defeat the enemy crew. :)

sounds like a good plan. I have managed to find a few EITC flag ships and have been able to hook them. I have used the grape shot to defeat the ships captain as that seems to be the only grunt that you can hit before you board.

Once I board though there are still two grunts level 20 or higher and there is no way I can defeat them alone. I have tried 4 times and am dead in a few seconds and that is even after using a tonic to regain strength but the tonic does not recharge near fast enough to beat these grunts.

If y'all want to get together and try I would love to join in.

Count me in too-I have all but given up on this particular quest. Ill check in the morning to see if we have a crew.

I notice today the wording on the capture Althea task has been changed. I don't know if that means you do not need to board and defeat an EITC ship now or you just have to sink one. Going to give just sinking a ship a try and see what happens.

Nope-you are correct. I tried to whisper to you when you came online but dont think it went through. I was shocked to see that my quest was updated at the first EITC ship we sunk. (Non-flag) I think a lot of people must have sent in bug reports to Disney asking why this task is so hard. Im so relieved to finally be able to proceed in the game. Phew!!

wow I am looking forward to moving past this task.

On a side note, I have a mast and sails again and I am not on fire and my speed is back to full strength, cool. And in the time it took to write that note, I got attacked and sunk, lol.

Does this mean I can just sink a navy flag ship and move on in the mission??

When I was on that quest it just said 'EITC ship' no flagship no boarding. I went out and took on a few huge level ships and died several times. I finally got Althea on my 3rd ship and as soon as I sank that EITC ship some navy ship got me and sent me to jail. i wonder if they word the quests a little differnt? What do u think?
