When are they going too??

So majority of the islands have gotten a revamp, but when are they going to do Cuba? and Kingshead?

anyone have an idea der?

Sven Osymthe 01-15-2010 01:14 AM

The other islands were redone, more than likely because those were where the invasions were going to take place (and the fact that Disney views them as the main islands). I doubt Cuba will ever be redone, and although I want Kingshead to be redone, I don't think that is as the top of their list.

James Bladefury 01-15-2010 01:17 AM

I think the forests will be redone, they did main islands, then caves, forests next prolly.

Cannonfury 01-15-2010 02:45 AM

Kings head? redone? NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Kings head is perfect the way it is :)

Midhav 01-15-2010 04:33 AM

Everything must be redesigned soon, and they will be. First the main islands then caves. So Im wiating for forests, then Kings and Cuba, followed by wild islands. Why wildies? Becuase if they can do it for caves and wildies dont have mini maps, then yes it will happen

The Skirata Clan 01-15-2010 06:00 AM

Maybe Cuba will grow and might bring places to visit for the next chapter.

Jeanne Stormcutter 01-15-2010 06:32 AM

I don't know about that, but there are WAY more ships around Cuba suddenly, i wonder if it's just Disney adding them there for fun OR... Will it lead somewhere? *dramatic music*

I think what Kingshead could use is more use of itself. There's so much of it that unused and unseen by many. Not talking about the glitches, just the rest of it (upper areas). They could place some quests up there.

Midhav 01-15-2010 03:34 PM

actually i think that if they redesign Kingshead ( which ultimately will happen ), they will make the island more properly done. Kingshead as it is now is a nice explorable island. But can you imagine how awesome they would make it by redesigning it!? They could use the large island for a lot of questing, and i seriously believe that no matter how awesome kingshead is now, it will get a redesign. Why? You will all get to know when you understand that minimaps appear only in redesigned places. Kings, forests, etc dont have such mini maps.
I am really looking forward to such an update mates, it be good. Probably Kings will be more colorful, who knows?

Dockwrecker The Privateer 01-15-2010 05:35 PM

I think they may just be able to give current locations mini-maps.I don't think were in any need of redesigns but with the exception of forests....I want the Caribbean to expand with new islands myself....makes for more areas and new looks.(I would also like them to start arranging the islands in more of a Caribbean shape.....make some distace between some (Cuba and Jamaca ) while others are grouped (Like Virgin Is.) )Then there is the Cuba question:They could make it great but making a small road by the clothing shop to go in beheind to a new added town area near a more inland swamp, and there could be a trail that goes up into hills while other paths can take you to caves and forests.....that is what I would do.Disney also has areas and islands already created that should be about ready to add to the game.....there are some old.....shots per say :) . Edit,http://www.piratesonlineforums.com/g...ata/500/Island <here is one

Really no evidence to support such a claim.

If kingshead is redone, the only way people are going to like it is if it stays big. All the other islands have gotten smaller and bunched up because Disney wanted to fix lag. Hardly helped and if they do this with kingshead it's most likely we'll see kindshead go from the size it is now to 1/5th its' size.

I don't mind kingshead being redone, but it needs to stay giant like it is now.

Dockwrecker The Privateer 01-15-2010 07:04 PM

Well as someone here noted Kingshead still has unused space.....that could be something quite useful.....the secret back dock and there is a good amount of open space in one other area....There are many things that can be expaned without a whole redoo.2009 was a redoo year and some think it cost some other things from coming.....I do like the new towns but I would focus creativity of the developers to making more without taking away most of the old....I agree that something has to be done with Cuba ,some jungles ,and an expansion of Kingshead....they need to make that cave at the back dock......

Basil Dreadflint 01-15-2010 07:53 PM

Last time I looked over the wall, the back dock at KH wasn't there anymore. I didn't try to swim to it, so not sure if you can find it that way or not. I always knew where it was from above, cause you used to be able to glitch the wall hack there and land on the dock.

Personally I liked some of the older Islands. They were simple. London, England would not be simple. Simple island communities would be very small, with only a few houses around a village green. Port Royal would be more complex, but personally I think we don't need more complex, redone Islands. They've made bunched-up, dingy looking, crowded islands! I liked the old Port Royal. It had a small, simple town and the rest of it was green country-side. If not that, then perhaps a small merchant island. One Island they're missing is Hispaniola.

Midhav 01-16-2010 03:35 AM

I like all the redone islands, and especially with them being complex and all, so Im on Disney's side in this.

Actually there is evidence. Were any of us expecting a cave redesign? NO! It suddenly appeared in one of their Developer diaries.
Now, why would caves of all the uncharted places get minimaps?
Keeping that in mind, why not those ugly boring forests eh? There is a definite need to redesign them, as they all look the same. If caves can get mini maps, then why not Forests, and even wild islands? The current wild islands are not likable. They only mostly consist of a beach and some other area ( like a forest or cave ) inside them. These places too don't have minimaps.

Now lets view the other islands. We have TWO MORE main islands.
The humongous Kingshead, and the small Cuba. Lets first do with Cuba.
Cuba in real life was a Spanish colony, and a vast country. All they could put was a beach and the Pantano river??? First things first, the Pantano River is actually supposed to be on Isla de Pelegostos, leaving nothing else left on Cuba if removed when Pelegostos come.... Now, out of this a large spanish colony can be put....
Finally Kingshead and your other views. I have to disagree with your view that they made the redesigned places smaller ( excluding to some extent Port Royal (. The new Tortuga and Padres is much bigger than its previous versions, and the Caves are much bigger than its predecessors.
Now, someone said they should reuse the current locations. I expected for the old caves, that the new locations to the caves would just be added to the ones...
and they completely redesigned it. The Catacombs I feel, is TEN times larger than the old one, I love it.
So, Kings. Kingshead is huge as it is, but if you look at it, it consists of a Large map of no use. The entire front grounds is just a large plot of land. I don't mind if they make such areas cramped up, and at the same time make us feel Kingshead is huge. With a redesign Kingshead will finally come to some Quest use, and I really want that to happen. Now, this place being one of the Main islands, with NO mini map, will surely be redesigned, I gave my explanation on that above, with not expecting Caves to have that fate. And also that, as I said, they will not add a mini map to current locations. So, these are my points...
