Attention all Testers! Players in the game have already been enjoying the invasions on Port Royal and Tortuga, now we're bringing invasions to Padres del Fuego! If you have access to the Test Server, log in now to experience this great new addition to Pirates Online.

What will we defend on Padres??? Why is Jolly attacking there??? Why did the Tortuga invasions not last very long??? Will there still be Tortuga invasions? These are some of my questions to ask while I'm waiting for it to update.

How about you guys fix the loading screen lag problems with all us using windows?

And how about that memory leak?

They shouldn't tell us what to do when they're too lazy to work on fixing a major, very old memory leak with Panda3D.

I doubt that they'll ever get around to it, so much easier (for them) to just tell us what should "help" their problem.

There solution doesn't even help me. When I first joined, and months after, I was able to play with pretty much no lag, regardless of how many pirates I had open (I managed to get 4 on at a time). But ever since they added the new islands, I am unable to play for a little bit without lag, on one single pirate. Even when its the only program open. Funny thing though, I have a lot of other programs open sometimes, because pirates is acting slow.. and theres no difference with, or without the other programs.

This should answer questions 1-2..
As for why the Tortuga ones were so short, they're probably in a rush to get new updates out. And if its like the Port Royal ones, they won't happen, or if they do, very rarely.

If the server loses to Jolly on Tortuga, you hear Jolly exclaim that Jack Sparrow fled. My theory is that Jack may run to padres, but idk.
I doubt that the tortuga invasions will be going on while Jolly invades tortuga. Can he be in two places at once when he is to come to shore?

Have a question though. I logged into test earlier b/c I saw this posted here, but didnt see an update. Asked a friend about it but they hadnt seen any invasions on Padres yet. Has anyone been on test for a Padres invasion yet? Or did pirates announce the Padres invasions on test too soon? After all, no updates, no info on launcher about the PDF invasion.

this "pdf invasion" is NOT on test. Idk why they posted that it was.

It sounds promising, but what I wanna know is how they're gonna structure it up.

Port Royal, the governor's mansion. The streets were all leading towards it.

Tortuga, the Faithful Bride. Again, the streets led towards it.

PDF, ?????? The entire town is on the water. Also, the only logical target I can think of besides the taverns would be Fort Dundee, but no self respecting pirate would be there.

Finally, and not to hijack the thread, but we've all heard jack was there, but did anyone see him? Maybe have Jack standing as an npc outside the bride/wherever on pdf, shaking his head or something. When Jolly lands, he goes in the tavern.

About less invasions on tortuga i think they ran outta time lol :laughks2: or jolly did ;) yeah its another disney "fail" they announce something too early get our hopes up and then crash them :( hopefully im wrong about this though.

Didn't someone say the PDF invasion sound files were in the phase files and arrived at the same time as the Tortuga ones? If that's true, they probably already put what they need to start the invasions in the update with the Tortuga ones, but haven't started them yet. Who knows.

LOL - close all other programs and play on low graphics??? I already close all other programs, the load screens are now ridiculously long and why do I want to play on low graphics? Everything looks ugly on low graphics.

This game was beautiful AND playable in high graphics once upon a time. This is not an acceptable response by Disney, IMHO.

My guess ukebec, is that they assume people are playing with standard comps. Using this assumption, they form a genreralized comment that fits enough people. I for one can play in high graphics, with chrome, iTunes, and other assorted items running as well. As for the load screens, only when tping are they long for me. If ur game is lagging, instead of closing all programs, try opening ur task manager and seeing what NON NECESSARY programs r using a lot of ram (things like web cam programs or Dell video chat for example)

Ok i heard its on their "test website" so what im wondering is.. Are we being forced into downloading the new feature of the "test website" to play there instead of the program anymore or are they going to add the padres invasions to the test server and the test site so you dont have to download the whole thing and yes i am very confused about this. :/ :(

The main problem (besides that I was only in a single Tortuga invasion, and now they're ending) is that there is nothing to defend on Padres. The only place there I can think of defendin would be the Ratskellar, but there is no way that can be it.

I wonder if they are going to invade Cuba? Or maybe lift The Embargo. Anyways Tortuga was a target for what... 2 weeks? Then what? Are they invading all randomly? Maybe the Padres Invasion will come from within Padres... Meaning that are the invaders going to come from the cave systems of Padres? I thought Jolly had an outpost at Padres. Disney is rushing yet again.

Theyre rushing because they want to get done with these invasions and start off with the continuation of the story and release all that we want. Padres definitely is the last invasion, and may be after this, invasions will be like the Muertos Moon, only happening very rarely...
On the note of Cuba, I believe it or Kingshead will have to be redesigned for an invasion, and that Cuba will have not the Pantano River but instead a whole new city. Thats how it should be IMHO, but the mentioned river will have to be moved to Isla de Pelegosto as that goes according to story.

I logged onto test this morning and it said i dont have enough space on my computer for something omg what is going on here?! :( I think we're being forced into downloading this new "web" thing.

James, that's usually a sign that you're out of hard drive space and that you need to delete some stuff. Having no hard drive space can cause a world of troubles for more than just POTCO. You might look at running Windows' Disk Cleaner (Start > All Programs > Accessories > System Tools > Disk Cleaner) or remove some old programs that you don't use anymore. The last time I ran Disk Cleaner, I was able to remove almost 500mb of temporary internet files that aren't entirely necessary.

They should be working on fixing bugs right now, not invasions.

I've crashed at sea for the first time today in over four months.

They need to fix the boxy ships when you see ships far away. The need to fix how fast masts shakes and how fast they fall down. They need to have tearing sails again so sailing is more realistic.

Until those are fixed, working on other things is a waste.

They also need to fix the new clothes bug that happens when you go basic.My original shirt is missing and it won't let any replacement stay on once I go basic again.

Yesterday, there was a Padres Invasion, Tortuga Invasion, and another Padres Invasion, all in a row (the Tortuga invasion got a bug or something, it never happened, like on the times with the Port Royak invasions,got a warning, but it never happened)

Tortuga invasions will be happening, and to answer the first two questions in more detail, Roger is after the Padres Wall.

But one thing that appears strange to me, is that the Padres Wall, is just a barricade, and yet, he wants to destroy it, and why would he want that?

They are in a rush to get new updates out? Then were is that new story chapter they promised would be released a year ago? And other updates they promised such a long time ago, and still don't have them? Why did they change the islands? they say they changed it to give us less lag, but to be honest, it gives way more lag now, it looks like they aren't trying. They have no idea what time and slowdown means. Oh, and I would have had 2 unlimited accounts if disney were a bit more careful about what they do with accounts... they don't care about anything, it's obvious they are just lazy, they aren't in a hurry, they just don't care that's all. I think it's time for them to get orginised and really start working, or they will soon lose alot of subscribers, I already know of a few ppl that know about these problems, lets just hope Disney improve.

So the Padres invasion did come with this update itself. Smart of them. The reason he would be after the Padres wall is probably because it is the only central area of the island, which he wants to conquer or rather spell in fear into the minds of pirates and townsfolk. The reason they are in a rush to get it out is obviously not because they're lazy as you claim, they want to release the next big update which would be one which they promised to us all along. And definitely there was a huge need to change the isles and caves. The old islands ( though i miss them a bit ) now seem so horrible to think of compared to the current state of them, which is fun to explore and also has less lag unlike what you say, and caves are completely much bigger and beautifully designed than the previous ones we had. They are doing well as the new ratings of POTCO by reviewers say ( getting 100% thrice ), but they only are a bit slow in releasing updates, and have quite a few bugs and glitches, and also some silly additions such as going through players. I have to say there is nothing wrong with the new ship designs as some say, and mostly their time frame is what affects the slowness in updates. They are working hard for a January release and much more after that.

Yesterday on test they had a tortuga invasion and padres 5 minutes apart:xshocked:

New updates to come i think:

• Weapons
• Clothes
• Story
• Quests

The target on PDF is to destroy the town itself - The wall is the attack point to destroy the town.

Many times they have done back to back invasions on test. They will run it several times - look at the feedback and do some fixes. That's what the test side is for.

Glad they are up and running, I will have to try and catch some of them.

It's obvious the current storyline does not contain Davy Jones or the Kraken so for those of you on countdown watch get over it. There will be no Kraken by the end of the year, its not part of the storyline. They have obviously gone in a different direction. Feel free to start your Disney lied, failed, whatever threads now.

Well, seeing as how Jack escaped Tortuga during the Tortuga Invasions, he might of fled to Padres? Or maybe Roger is trying to get complete control over Padres? I'm not sure, but I'm sure once they release them to open, Disney will explain it through lore.
