Ahoy Everyone, I wanted to see what you guys think is coming next for updates for the rest of this year (after the Tortuga invasions) and into January/February of 2010 onto test and then onto the live game? So please leave your responses below. :piratewheelgo2:

I think maybe the Kraken but i don't understand why would "we" want a monster that attacks our ship while we try to sail. Siling is hard enough(for me at least,lol) with ships throwing flames/bombs at us 0_o

I have no problems with the ones that simply use fury or cannon balls, but I hate the ones with fire/bombs -_-

The Kraken will probably not come into play as a regular game update. I think that if the Kraken appears at all it will be a plot point of Chapter 2, really. Because Maria is right - having a Kraken around in the main game would make sailing a real pain.

Personally I'd like ship customization and the ability to don navy garb and sneak around and not be attacked by dudes.

the padres del fuego invasion mate... sure of it

Most people say with the padres del fuego invasion's that new clothing and new weapons are coming too? That's why i made this thread. :) What do you guys think about that?

I dont want a padres invasion, but I assure you that there will be some.

Kraken, new inventory system, and a new story quest were SAID to be released this year back in January 2009............ PiratesOnline.com said it themselves, and if they don't release it this year, I will be extremely disappointed in Disney for lying to us all........

What do I THINK will be coming between now and February 2010? Well, I wwould guess:

--Wind that blows the plants, providing more realisticc scenery (especially terrific with the 3D glassses!)
--Smell-o-vision--now you can actually enjoy yer pirate's BO and bad breath
--A newe bandana!
--Invasions on Cuba

In other words, no content, no story quest.

If they said they would release it sometime in january and what is it now? DECEMBER!!! Disney has lied to us all.

Whatever it is, I'm pretty sure it will be the complete opposite of what everyone wants. I mean really, why start listening to people now.

Why so sad and angry, guys? Be more optimistic! What we have now is a great game and community and new additions of any kind should be welcome :)

Um Bart i doubt there will actually be a Cuba invasion unless the island is redesigned which i something i want

Based on Disney's past speed records, I guess I can give you a moderately good estimate:

- Early January: Tortuga Invasions end
- Mid to Late January, MAYBE early Febuary: Padres Del Fuege Invasions begin
- Late Febuary to Early March: Padres Invasions End
- Mid March to Late March: New weapons quests? Maybe, we'll have to see.

Of course you can throw in a lot of GM appearences in there, but really, I'm pretty sure thats how the next new months are gonna play out. I wouldn't expect anything big until AT LEAST Febuary 27th (late Febuary.)

Kracken maybe end of 2010?

I'll have facepalmed myself too much by then to live to see the Kraken...

Am I the only one who doesn't give parrot's squawk about the Kraken? Unless, of course, he is the final boss of a long, arduous and well crafted STORY LINE...

Bring on all the new weapons, invasions and clothes closets you want. They are icing on the cake. But the cake is a new chapter, isn't it?

From my experience this past year playing Potco i think maybe alot of next year will be more of them "redoing" stuff like swamps, forests, etc. I could be wrong though, hopefully i am cause i really would like to see new clothing, new weapons and the new story chapter on test by early February if not end of January 2010.

I like the swamps and forests there is rich color and details .... I do not think they will redo them. Clothes, weapons, bigger inventory, gm events, new enemies, ghosts, another treasure collection and free items are all small things that disney can do to keep people distracted.

The next story chapter with a tough boss battle is what will give purpose to the game.

they are going to redo them. you know why? caves and PR, torty, pdf have minimaps after redesigning, but forests, wild islands, cuba and kings dont have it. So it WILL happen

Here is what I think.
- Beginning of January will be new story chapter. But the kraken for the main point of it.
- Mid January Tortuga invasions end and PDF invasions begin.
- Beggining of Febuary new inventory and new weapons.

I wonder... What role do the Invasions play for the second chapter?

OK, the invasions are over, then what is the transition? I mean lets say I start a new pirate and finish my quests once the second chapter is already in, do I have to do the invasions too? Are they going to be included as a part of the story line? Should they be included?

Disney said that after the Invasions the chapter is sure to come right? How is that going to work?

That's a good question.

The way I see is -

Chapter 2 starts in a cutscene because Jolly Roger is furious he lost.

And then chapter should have something to do with a new plan of Jolly Roger's

but what of the Kraken? how will Davy Jones get entangled in this? It will involve everything from new islands to new weapons, the new loot and inventory system to possible new forests.

Heres what could happen. Dec 20th ( or Jan 1 ), test gets updated with a PDF invasion and other improvements ( possibly new loot and inventory ), after which the new story comes. Or new islands and forests with new weapons, followed by the new story

There are PDF invasions out now. I'm pretty sure hes after the towns main wall. Also I think the GMs don't like it when people ask about the kraken. A few days ago captin walter was on a quite sever, so it was only me and 3 other people. So my brother asks if he could ask a question on my guy and I said sure. So he asked Walter about the kraken and he said, 'Another pirate asking about the kraken? Trust me you don't want it to come. '
