What Grade will you give POTCO?
 

This year in POTCO has been one of ups and downs. Things improved then slowed down. Taking in consideration game additions, remakes of places, GM events, Limited Quests such as Rott's and Fathers Day, and the Invasions. Leaving out all the fun you might have had with friends and guilds. Grade this POTCO year of 2009.


Keep in mind that the Non-Disney activities don't count because they didn't made them for you.

truthfully, I give POTCO a C. The reason why is because they did do kinda alot of bad things over the year and they came out with the invasions kinda at the last minute. But hey, im not saying that the invasions are bad! To me the invasions was the best update ever, on top of that, the option to have your game in 3D... Im pretty sure that maybe next year would be alot better, hopefully the kraken will come out finally

I said a B. POTCO did a lot of updates, that should help the overall performance for next year. However, nothing except leveling to keep me interested, I cannot give an A.

I would give POTCO a C, for putting out new weapon lvls and for the gold quests. But POTCO really didn't make the updates I think would make the game better, such as the Kraken, New weapon options for the already existing weapons, and most of all, new ships.
However for terminating my account and diminishing the Korsairs, I give POTCO an F. So my over all grade for them, D, the same grade I got in english last year.

Solid D. Nothing we have asked for has come to fruition. Only updates we didnt ask for or need.
New Islands, invasions, all well and good. But, nothing as simple as more closet space??????

C'mon! Seriously. LISTEN TO THE CUSTOMERS DISNEY! New quests, more storage, more to do with our gold. =P

I gives the last year a B+.

The storyline over the last year kept me engaged and I haven't had this much fun in a long time. The Invasions have really brought the pirate community together for a common cause. I made several new friends and guildmates during them. The after parties give us a chance to meet and have a good time. GM interaction was awesome and had just been getting better and better. I loved the Ghost stuff and trying to figure out what was going on there.

It's clear the development teams are working hard and I can't wait to see what's next.

So I'm guessing Higher Weapon Levels, Higher Notoriety, New, more developed areas, less lag, new weapon/clothing quests, etc. etc. is nothing?

I gave POTCO a C+. They still haven't done all we've asked for, and they tend to try and do something more diverse than what we are looking for, but they've started to get the ball rolling. At least they've started to try.

I vote B. 3 months ago the hue and cry was for increased notoriety and weapons caps and we have that. Not an A since our other plea is a new story chapter/boss battle and we don't have that yet. Also not an A because much of what the devs announced at the beginning of the year isn't here. But the revamped cave systems and the invasions have been very nice.

Well I gave an A as I'm happy with everything we got this year (theres still a few weeks to go till the end of the year and who knows what we may get before then.) We have had better game play, feats of strength comp, revamped islands, the stowaway option, invasions, the revive system, increased cargo capacity, mothers day and fathers day quests, notoriety and weapon caps increased, Casa del Muertos quest, higher level enemies, skeleton slayer comp, best guild comp, and endless fun at the GM role-playing events etc etc . I'm sure 2010 will bring us all even more fun. I can't wait!! No complaints form me.... I'm a happy pirate!!

In reply - yes, Id say they did NOT give the players what they asked for. Higher notor, and higher weapons is really a simple change from the programming point of view. Its weak.

We wanted quests, new weapons, and more inventory. Even THAT is a simple change they seemingly can't handle. (More room)

You can't please ALL the people ALL of the time. Overall, IMO I think what Disney have done throughout this year has been more than adequate , so I stand by my grade...A

Easy C in my opinion. It's a passable game, but after the Pearl quest, there's not much to really keep people hanging around. They should have had a second storyline quest with boss battle by now.

I give POTCO an A for the year. Maybe it's because I have too many pirates on live and test, and none of them are fully mastered. But with everything Disney has done this year, there has always been something new to do or explore again. Can't wait to see what 2010 brings to the caribbean :dancetl6:

C. It isn't terrible but it isn't outstanding. Just an average game.

Though one for me,I did vote B but in that considering I was noting what Unlimited members recieved as well,for basic its about a C.My fun week of Unlimited runs out this week ,but I could take a quick break from the leveling rush.One thing Disney need is when you need to go back to a previous word on the chat you can use you mouse to click there instead of waiting for that slow arrow feature to get you there.

Definitely C. The updates are good but slow, and the promised things havent come out.
I look forward to 2010 and the years ahead. And my guess is the Jan 30 update is the new loot and inventory. Pirates went a bit back in graphics for gameplay, but im sure theyre planning to make it better. I dont like certain things, like going thru players in the new update, but we shall see what is to come

I was going to give this game a C to C+, but after this last update, I'm giving it a D to D-.

Their "new and improved" ships make me sick, and don't get me started on the X marks the spot dig areas. I mean come on now, were people SO unwilling to search for dig spots, that Disney had to do this? I'm sure with the next update, everyone will have their own personal GM to do the defeating of enemies for them, that way nobody has to draw their weapons.

That last sentence was a joke, but the way things are going, an update like that wouldn't surprise me.

I chose B potco is good with a few nice updates here and there nothing that new or high tech I didn't count the update on the 10th because that was just a load of crud but potco is a B- on my opinion

I might have gone as high as a "C" but with the last update to the Test Server, I can no longer get my settings quite right. Everything is short, fat and dumpy. Circles are squished and so is my once tall and handsome pirate. :psmiley35: Getting tired of Disney REDUCING what we have while telling us it's "Brand New and JUST FOR YOU! Poorer Graphics! More Lag!! Now gimme 10 more dollars..."

These new updates make the game almost impossible to play, I'm shelling out 30 bucks a month for my family to play and what do we get? Oh just play it on low settings to reduce lag and blah blah blah so I can look at smeary blobs on my screen and try to play? Why have higher end settings at all if only but a few can use them, must be my sub disney standard computer that I have ( a quad core 2.2 with a gtx 275 card and 6 gigs of ram with a 12meg internet connection hmmm) I myself am barely hanging on, 15 to 20 min just to get to my pirate selection page then another 10 to get in the game? There are games out there that are more graphically intense and smoother running that are FREE or some that charge the same amount that are constantly bringing in new content and upgrades.
I know by Disneys words that their target subscribers are 12 yr old boys, but I would think even a 12 yr old would have higher expectations than what has been produced.
Obviously the money made from this game is NOT getting put back into it.

Also a word on Test, me and me mates have spent considerable time over there testing and sending in reports......none of it was listened too. Whats the point of test if we are to be ignored and content to be put on live just to meet a deadline regardless if it works or not?

I expected more from an iconic brand such as Disney. It's sad to see the bottom line is more important than reputation.

Just a C from me. Yeah, it's a fun game, but it really does need something to happen after the Pearl Battle. The new updates are half and half. Some are kinda cool, but then they went and fixed things that weren't broken, breaking them instead. So, ya, just a C.

Hmmm... This seems like one of those times in the middle of the year when everyone was complaining about the lack of updates and many quit the game. Then the good updates came! Now its Tortuga invasion, last time the updates were Tortuga then Padres' redesigning, so hold on for a possible Padres Del Fuego invasion, or an immediate release of a new story chapter! Or we can expect that after PDF invasion or next month they'll release new forests, new islands, new weapons, and then the chapter, or all three previous mentioned in different updates, or with the story chapter. And more delaying will happen with redesigning of Cuba..... <sigh>. The list goes on with different combinations lol

Updates are just updates. Some of us (who are still here by the way) are complaining about the lack of NEW CONTENT... I might hold on for a new story chapter. A good one. But more invasions? If I wanted to play arcade style hack-and-slash games I would. But I don't. I prefer RPGs and since this is a MMORPG, I thought there might be some gameplay based on that particular genre...Anyway you slice it, it's all icing and no cake. And yes. I am quite grumpy today.:ziwyvs:

I gave POTC an D. I never asked for anything, well maybe except the Kraken, but I am patient. The beginning of the year was great! New islands, higher level caps, the lag seemed to decrease for a while...etc. Then the invasions were fantastic and its was fun looking forward to them coming, great idea! And the 3-D glasses... AWESOME! But as soon as December hit, I could'nt log on at all. Some update made it so I cant even log on. :( This got POTC a D. You almost failed, but the early part of the year helped you pass.

Considering they haven't added much to the game it gets a B from me. Mainly because of lag that was fixed from 2008 (long time founder) and also some cool things were the new maps, and invasions are my absolute favorite
