Slay a Skeleton Competition

Do you have a yearning to defeat lots and lots of those undead boneheads? If so, now's the time. Why? Thinning out Jolly's ranks is one way to slow the invasions and weaken his hold in the Caribbean. So why not make a sport of it?

Help even the odds during the next invasion - defeat as many skeletons as you can!


Much like our popular Strongest Guild Competition, every Pirate must try to defeat as many undead skeletons as they can! It's fun but also, you'll be doing all the Pirates of the Caribbean a service by evening the odds in the next invasion. If you experienced the invasions - you know - there's just too many of them storming the beaches! So start planning today - and may the best Pirate win!

What: Slay a Skeleton Competition
When: Nov. 12 - Nov.17

The Details: We'll rank the top 30 Pirates daily. At the end of the competition we will recognize the Pirate who has defeated the most skeletons and he (or she) will have the honor of calling themselves the Skeleton Slayer of the Caribbean!

Just any old skeleton or skeletons during invasions?

My take is any old skellie.

so we have to kill ONLY undead skeletons or we can actually kill anything?(like gators for example)?

Good question Grizz. As of this morning they were not.

Sorry D, but killing thousands of level 1 skellies for hours on end just doesn't seem like a good use of time to me. I think I'll find something more productive to do. Like learning to drink milk through my eye.

In any case just another sad, sad example of Disney wasting our time and energy for nothing.
Even if this only refers to killing skeletons during an invasion(which would certainly make more sense) I can not see wasting my time for nothing and as the post implies there is no reward. I already have the honor of calling myself a "Skeleton Slayer of the Caribbean." I can also call myself slayer of just about everything else in the Caribbean and I don't have to spend valuable time to prove it, LOL

So all i win is the right to say i can kill a skeleton???

Or, you can just not participate. Just like the Strongest Guild competition, nobody is forcing anybody to do anything. For those who are interested, please don't rain on others' parades.

I for one will do my utmost to rank as highly as possible (probably won't do great, but hey--why not try?). Nobody should really care one way or another whether I want to do this or not.

Besides... doesn't it state that this will help even the odds for the invasions? Seems to have a purpose to me....

I do that Port Royal graveyard all the time.Getting old ,I think I have dropped out.But I still plan on leveleing up with them this week.

I'll try to do this one to the best of my ability, but it comes at a pretty hectic time for me, so I'm not gonna take it as seriously as I did the Strongest Guild Comp.

about the amount of rep earned by playing the invasions.

This contest is to reduce the Skeleton population, so that JR has less at his disposal for use during the invasions.

Does this contest lead to fewer skellies attacking the beaches during invasions, and thereby decreasing the amount of rep given out during said?

Just a thought.

A purpose indeed mate - that may be the trick of it. How many in total across all the guilds be taken down.

I agree with a point here, that UNLIKE the Strongest Guild Contest the GM's don't have to ask all their members to crank out kills.

For those who want to spend the time to generate the kills - I so go for it. I remind our members of the contest - but won't ask or demand they do it.

so ok, i didnt not find out about this contest till the 13th. And i see that the contest started on the 12th, and I saw this scoreboard up on the late evening of the 13th Was this the scoreboard for the people who slayed this amount on the 12th? or on the 13th? If it was for the 13th, why put it up so early? like 6pm central time and was there a scoreboard up for the people who slayed on the 12th?
