Level 58!!!!!
 

I was checking the leader boards and it says there is a LEVEL 58!!!!!! I have seen level 51 but this should be fixed! Now I'm not saying it's this pirates fault because it may be a glitch. But they gotta fix this because before you know it someone will be level 100. I'm reporting it right now.

Nah there REALLY is lvl 58....shes my friend and I have seen her with the 58 over her head. Shes redoing a quest glitch over and over again for rep.

I would love to be level 58. I wish I could do that. I know its probably accidental but pirates has to get this fixed soon.

I'm finding this glitch is going WAY to far. It may be funny to see a lvl 51 or 52 here and there, but when it starts to get close to 60, it HAS to stop, ESPECIALLY if people are using exploits and glitches to get up that high. Its kinda like a glitch on top of a glitch.

And what are we supposed to do after the glitch is fixed? Those who are over 50, as well as most likely their friends and guildmates, will want to have those pirates keep those levels. One word.

Having people over level 50, INCLUDING pirates who used GLITCHES and EXPLOITS, will most likely lead to these pirates taking advantage of this, and dominating the leaderboards. Fair? I think not.

Just a note....the leaderboards are broke because someone is speeding...not because of this glitch.

I saw a 55 at Thursday's invasion. I have to say I don't really care how they get that higher number. The cap is 50 it should stay that way. Speeding, Glitching, what's the difference if it still gets you to a level you know you aren't supposed to be? Not knockin your friend, just stating what I believe.

Disney needs to finally fix this. Plenty of people are abusing it... the part I find funny, a lot of those that are above 50 spent forever complaining about no new content.. and now they're giving Disney something else to fix, rather than focus on that content. I can see if you accidentally level, by healing someone. But even then you should only be low 50's, not near the 60's. And when your cheating to get to that point.. thats just sad.

I don't think speeding has anything to do with it. Disney's leaderboards have been broken a lot in the past, and speeding happens all the time. It wouldn't have a direct impact on it now.

Weapons
 

Considering you can get reps on any weapon at any time even if you are level 50 and the weapon is level 30 I don't think its a very big deal. If you wanted to weapons grind to 51 instead of quest glitch what would be the difference? When they fix it you will still be 50 and your time is yours to waste as you see fit. Standing around and chatting or quest glitching whats the difference? Once you are at 50 its all the same in the end. Just be patient and let Disney work their magic. All will be well once again.

I personally have no respect for anyone who cheats or resorts to game loopholes to level faster.
Its a game. Why cheat? Ooh... 58 based on a glitch, Im really impressed. Not.

I'm not impressed either Nelly. I believe in playing the game like it was meant to be played. I was never out to be the biggest, strongest pirate on POTCO...just to have fun & enjoy the company of my guild & friends. But, everyone has their own outlook on things, just like life..AYE?

More than one person knows this glitch, if you do too, it doesn't mean you found it first or anything.

Pretty sure it will be one of two ways, either they will take away the over 50's, which would be my guess, or they will raise levels, which is like a 1 in a billion chance. Or, possibly, third option, just leave them but lock them in, which I also doubt.

I see it this way, what will be will be, I'm not even 50, so it doesn't affect me. (Pardon the rhyme there. I be a poet, and oh yes I know it.)

Seriously guys they're not doing anything to harm you why are you people making it such a big deal it's just a small glitch get over it don't worry about them worry about your pirate first and if Disney bans them then so be it or if Disney fixes the glitch then so be it.

Yeah I know you are all saying its a harmless bug, but really, disney HAS to fix it so it is fair to every player. Doing a quest over and over again, that's cheating. Not acceptable. Disney should take away those levels and put it back to 50. I mean, if you accidentily hit level 51 that is one thing, if you abuse a glitch to get to level 58, that is just wrong. I reported the glitch. They have probably seen it by now and I really hope they fix this soon. They also had this problem last time correct? So they souldn't be messing it up. Anyone who is level 51+ shouldn't do pvp (unless its against someone that is their level) because it is unfair to the people who played fair. Cya later!

Personally? Id like to see people banned. This is no better than speeding, or using CheatEngine. Boot em. Games better without these kinds of players.

I'm reported it to Disney. I did not name any names, but I hope they realize that they need to fix this. I'm not making it a big deal all I'm saying is, going to a level above the max, is not good. Especially cheating to get to there.

I'm sure Disney will fix this, but, I wouldn't be TOO surprised if they didn't fix it JUST YET. They're probably gonna leave it in while they develop more stuff for the game, just to keep people from complaining about nothing to do at Lv50. If I'm wrong then, err... blame that guy over there.

Would be very nice if they would make fixing this a priority, it seems to cause alot of waves. Personally, considering that in all likelyhood any levels gained over the level cap of 50 will disappear when it is fixed.. its up to whoevers playing to how they want to play, as long as it doesnt effect the others. Now if its compounding player abilities giving unfair avantages in PVP/SVS environments, then it needs addressing even more quickly.

As for any 'expected' admiration or respect that these individuals breaking the level cap mark may expect for their feat? Throwin yer hat in the sand, and dancing round it is more likely to get my attention, and might even get a few pence for a mug O rum in that hat.

I checked the leaderboards right now and she now has level 59... Sooner or later she will find all her hard work was for nothing, heh.

The best way to make this a non-issue is to just report it and move on. The more people make a fuss the more incentive there is for this sort of silliness. Let it play out then we can end this thread with a laugh.:laughks2:

If i had to start over and level 59 I would be mad. But I guess thats what you get for abusing a glitch.

lol! i hear ya! for awhile there I always thought, well, we're pirates, we are supposed to take advantage of loopholes and such untill they're fixed! i personally dont see a problem with this, because the point will be moot when micky gets it fixed. the thing i do have an issue with is that these things are reported on the leaderboards. that really is an unfair advantage.

Really? I see it as a good thing they are on the leader board. In game, only a small number of players might see this person and an even smaller number would report her because, as stated in posts, she is their friend. When this appears on the leader board, I bet a lot of players noticed and complained. You can't hide behind your friends goodwill when you put your name out there like that.

@ Sven: The leaderboards can only take so much number counts per day. As far as enemies defeated goes, if someone gets over 35,000 enemies in one day, the data overload causes a crash. If someone were to actually rank, there's no way he/she can get over that amount in a 24 hour period (12AM PST - 11:59PM PST). I, as a former ranker, would know this.

@ Everyone else who may be concerned: Disney is well informed of this "glitch" and are working on possible ways to fix it. It is rumored that all of those who are above level 50 will be reverted back to level 50. I can't help but feel bad for all their "hard work".

There are ways to get to level 51 and up without glitching and/or speeding. You can simply rank. Plunder drops give off +25 notoriety rep as it always have. It's a GAME-side glitch that allows pirates to level up after enough notoriety rep has been accumulated. While some people may take advantage and exploit certain quests to level up this way, you can't overlook the fact that Disney forgot to cap the notoriety cap off well enough. In the past, I've ranked and recieved a plunder too many. Did I ever level past 40? Did any of the rankers level past 40? No. So don't solely blame the people who take time out of their days to get their levels up. Disney has it's share of faults in "glitches" and "bugs".

[Edit] The 35,000 enemies in one day is just a guess. I don't actually know the number it takes to crash the server. All I know is that it does. It has been tested before by someone who I shall not name.

She's level 61 now. Someone please tell her that she will be brought back down to fifty when they fix this.

rotl, 61? im sorry but that does strike me as funny. maybe she isnt worried about keeping it, but is just bored and decided to see how far she could take it. being pirates, why not have fun with it until its fixed? its not like its a hack or anything.

I don't want to see the look on her face when she is 50 again (if she already hasn't figured that out..).

And CCD, you're right, she could just want to see how far she can take it, but theres really no point to it... she can level and level and level, it will just go back down again. And if she is leveling the way someone mentioned earlier in the thread... I think she deserves to be knocked down.

as do i, but until such time as the glitch is fixed, i say enjoy! i would probably do the same thing for fun if i was a fully mastered level 50 with no quests to do. thankfully im not. im a temporarily basic, bored level 32 with other glitches to mess with.

I for one have been a victim of doing to much work and getting the plus 25 to throw me into 51... and i cannot tell you how much i'm getting tired of people calling me a cheater for it lol. now i know there are a few people actively trying to be as high as possible... but i really didnt mean to break 50 lol and i feel really cheap for being able to collect rep after 50 just because i entered the enemies competition. i did not mean to glitch... this is a total disney issue that they'll have cleared up in say... 6 months? lol it'll be swift just like the kraken we havent seen ;)

Yeah if your like a level over fifty and didnt cheat that is one thing. You just hit it. I admit I would like to be level 50 but I'm not going to cheat to get there.

I saw a pirate on Port Royal who was asked if he had Thrust by someone. He said he would do it, and he did. The problem was it was in a second. Then started spamming the CTRL button, resulting in 5 Hack swings in a second, meaning he was using the Speed Hack/Glitch.

I told everyone there that it was a Speed Glitch, and that the person should be banned or have his account held.
