The Elements and Compounds

In this game I will list an Element from the table and the response has to be a compound that has that element in it.Example:Oxygen : Water.Than someone else will list element and so on.Ill start:Hydrogen

combatlizzy 11-06-2009 06:07 PM

Peroxide
Element: Aluminum

Did I do that right?

gingeeann 11-06-2009 07:00 PM

Actually peroxide is just oxygen. Hydrogen peroxide would be the compound.

Response to hydrogen ....carbonic acid
Response to Aluminum .... aluminum phospate

Element: Nitrogen

The Skirata Clan 11-06-2009 07:15 PM

I think this game is rather hard mate.

Sven Niscadae 11-06-2009 07:16 PM

Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha!!

ahem I mean... Nitrous Oxide.

Iridium

combatlizzy 11-06-2009 07:51 PM

Wild uneducated guess....Radioactive isotope Been along time since Chemistry...lol

BTW I meant Hydrogen peroxide...didn't think I had to repeat the word

Carbon......

The Skirata Clan 11-06-2009 07:56 PM

...Monoxide?

Basil Dreadflint 11-06-2009 08:26 PM

To answer Sven,
Most Halogens are iridium compounds.

My element:

Astatine!

Dockwrecker The Privateer 11-06-2009 08:43 PM

Hardness depends on the element....astatine...idk...Everyone execpt TSC and I are doing better than expected.I'm going to guess some kind of paint thinner.Origianly this was going to be keep naming off elements one by one as we go but this makes me think on things. I may start one whre we list elements in atomic number's order.... Sodium

The design you set it up as is good. Just please everyone put the question element in bold so its easier to regognise.

Basil Dreadflint 11-06-2009 08:47 PM

1) "Paint thinner" is not a compound!
2) Astatine is not used in paint thinner.

Sarah 11-06-2009 08:48 PM

Astatine has no uses. Check Mate, game over ;)

Dockwrecker The Privateer 11-06-2009 09:03 PM

(Edit: compound for Astitine:Sodium Astatide...) I'll just go from here with Sodium.

The Skirata Clan 11-06-2009 09:12 PM

Sodium Hydroxide NaOH. Im good at balancing them and stuff but not naming them.

Dockwrecker The Privateer 11-06-2009 09:14 PM

Ok you need to make the next Q, ill do it this time: Potasium.

The Skirata Clan 11-06-2009 09:18 PM

Potassium Sodium Tartrate or Rochelle Salt (KNaC4H4O6) or Potassium Bromate (KBrO3) take your pick.

Dockwrecker The Privateer 11-06-2009 09:21 PM

Thought I spelt it wrong....Beryllium. (and please be kind to ask a question in bold as well next time you answer.)

The Skirata Clan 11-06-2009 09:24 PM

Beryllium Nitride.

Am I missing something?

Dockwrecker The Privateer 11-06-2009 09:26 PM

Gallium (and please Skirat)

Davy Keelhawk 11-06-2009 10:01 PM

ahhh, to complex! this new game should be called (just an idea) "beat who?: collage edition"

Dockwrecker The Privateer 11-06-2009 10:10 PM

Lol mate......I must be half good.Gallium

The Skirata Clan 11-06-2009 10:43 PM

Gallium Arsenide (GaAs)

Do I need to do something else? Name something?

Dockwrecker The Privateer 11-06-2009 11:36 PM

Your really lucky mate.....Cesium

The Skirata Clan 11-06-2009 11:51 PM

Cesium Perchlorate. It's no luck... It's called Skills.

Dockwrecker The Privateer 11-07-2009 12:08 AM

Will you ask me something? someone else might want a go. Lead. I know one to that mate.

The Skirata Clan 11-07-2009 12:15 AM

Sulfur.

Dockwrecker The Privateer 11-07-2009 12:22 AM

Sulpher Oxide.Bismuth

The Skirata Clan 11-07-2009 02:22 AM

Bismuth?

Bismuth Sulfide.

Selenium.

Dockwrecker The Privateer 11-07-2009 03:11 PM

yes i thought it might be bismuth...Selenium....hmmm there must have to be a Selenium Sulfate. Ununhexium

Cpt. Charlotte Doyle 11-20-2009 01:04 AM

The Skirata Clan 11-20-2009 01:59 AM
