Old Islands?
 

Hey, mates. I was just thinking about the old Port Royal, Tortuga, and Padres del Fuego. I realized then that the remake of all of those islands have been around so long, I barely remember what the old islands looked like. Well, anywho, I miss them old islands, and I was just wondering if anyone has some old screenshots of the old versions of those islands, just to bring back the memories for me.

I believe I have some, but none that are uploaded at the moment, when I get time (and if I remember to) i'll try to post them :D

Before they changed PR I went through and took pics of the entire island. Sadly, I never took any for Tortuga or PDF though. Sorry for the picture overload.. Mods, if there are too many, just let me know and I will cut some out...

Seeing the images reminds me of when the game wasn't entirely boring :undecided:

I remember being able to play tons of games such as hide and seek back then.. til they went ahead and took majority of the wall glitches out, and good spots on the regular islands :sad:

Oh, my. Thank you so much for all of these screenshots. They really do bring back lovely memories. If anyone else has screenies of Padres del Fuego or Tortuga, I'd really like to see them!

I quite miss them too.I hope they will make a slightly modified layout of one a new island.Really want new islands not just remakes , although the new ones are very nice as well.All Tortuga needed was the added swamp there.Old PDF had a nice feel as well....

Sadly, I didn't find out how to take screenies until after the new islands came out, but I might be able to dig up something. Maybe I took a few by accident during that time.

By the way, I liked the old Port Royal because it had a more farmland feel. Rolling hills, a few bridges over creeks, and a small market just outside of town. Who agrees with me that the new port royal is too.... Urban?

I do like the urban in some cases but your right Keeper, old PR was mor open.I'm hoping that we could see both on upcoming islands.Perhaps Dutch style urban too.

I did like the PR layout. If anything, all they had to do was move the fort just a wee bit closer to the town, other than that it was fine.

PDF needed some sort of remodel, just some scrunching together really (the layout was a little to spread out) But it was still good.

Tuga, as said, only really needed the swamp. And in my opinion, they made Tortuga look too...
fancy? It shouldn't look so much like PR, it should have rundown shacks and drunk pirates!

ay, i miss those old islands! maybe a TIME MACHINE, yes, then we can go back in time (in game) and visit!

I really miss those old layouts too. the new stuff is pretty nice, but i still manage to get lost everywhere. and its a shame to go from knowing everything like the back of your hand to being an instant noob overnight. i agree with the earlier suggestion that if the mouse grants us new islands, i would much like to see similar layouts. all i have to say about the new islands is...blasted eitc and their lax incompetent powder keg guards.

the old one was better and has more space and fort charles....I'd rather say it was better than the fort NOW as you can see, the Port Royal of today, though seems much crammier and tight spaced since the update.It took up soo little space that, Port Royal is not nothing but a tiny town with NPC's that are much crammier as I said.

The update I think was for ppl with slow PC's that keep lagging that they kept reporting so D may have chance PR cause of that. ;D Happy sailin'!

Seeing these pictures heal many wounds in my soul. I miss these old Islands - Port Royal's mile-wide length, Tortuga's spherical land and Padres Del Fuego's volcanic, hilly look. Now I can't even explain what they look like.

And where's the logic in blowing up a while island with a volcano, then the island being repaired and the volcano just suddenly appearing? Did the EITC order Hollywood's Volcano prop?

I'll see if I saved any other pictures on my old computer's hard drive and post them too.

I had a lot of em, many from PvP Glitch, and the time before you could change your clothes, oh the good old days...
