2nd Annual Dueces Wild Halloween Party

Sooo, Next Wednesday is our Halloween Party.

Be ready for a fairly long evening!
Start as soon as people can get on-line. I'm shooting for 8 Eastern.
Most of the night will be sponsored by the "DW No Rep Players". (In other words, we don't plan on doing a lot of rep earning stuff.)

List of events:

Mini Scavenger Hunt! This one is different than one of our normal ones. No Teams! I will provide a list of items, and it will be every pirate for themselves. It will also be a TIMED event. So, the person who completes the most items, and earns the most points, will be the winner. More info to be posted in this thread over the next few days.
I plan to start this at 9PM Eastern.

No Halloween party is complete without bobbing for apples. Since we can't do exactly that, I have a game called "Bobbing for Enemies". Not giving away all the details, but this will be played in teams of 3. Another timed event. Plan on starting this one at about 10. Again,, more info to follow, but I won't give out the final instructions til the night of the event.

Costume your pirate!
Around 11 Eastern, we will all gather together and vote on the 4 categories.
The categories are:
Best Costume - Whoever disguises themselves the best
Worst Costume - Just the oppposite of above
Best Dressed - For those who can't be 'creative' in making a costume, just dress smartly
Worst Dressed - Worst look in the guild.

If an invasion happens during our events, I plan to ignore it! We can beat old JR anytime! Besides, it might be fun to have everyone running island to island in that fog!

Please talk the evening up ingame for the sake of our guildies who don't check here regularly. Point them here before the event. It will be hard to explain what's going on once we get started.

JM Ohara 10-23-2009 07:25 PM

I'm thinking what I was planning on ain't gonna work for a costume, but I just got a brilliant idea for one, so it's all good! Really looking forward to this one Bas. Man it's great to be a Duece!:pirate2:

Sarah 10-23-2009 08:22 PM

Yay!

Already have it on the "Don't bother me tonight" calendar ;)

Costume ready! As always, thanks for keeping it entertaining Basil.

Bug 10-23-2009 08:35 PM

Sounds like lots of FUN!! Yippee!!!!!!!

JadeMacbones 10-23-2009 09:05 PM

Oh sweet hopefully Johnny and I can play. We are on PST, so we may be a little busy with kiddos. We'll see though. Sounds like fun.

Aliese 10-23-2009 09:27 PM

Can we have a rule that says Jess can't go as me? LoL

Vicinni68 10-25-2009 07:27 AM

I might actually get out of work early enough to get in on some of the festivities !!!! Ya Hoooooooooo !!!!! :jack-sparrow1:

Richard Ironskull 10-26-2009 03:22 AM

I have planned on making this party, but I honestly don't know if I can. Busy week. I'll be there if I can.

It sounds like a blast.

chelle_p 10-26-2009 04:41 AM

sounds fun, i hope i can make it!

Basil Dreadflint 10-27-2009 12:13 AM

Schedule update: all times eastern.

For the mini Scavenger hunt:

I will post a list of items here on POF at 9PM.
Each person will have to go out on their own to find the answers.
PM me here by 10PM with the answers.
(I know the clocks here are off, I will adjust my times to compensate.)

For the Bobbing for enemies, I will give instructions ingame, but you may want to team up for it here, first. If you have a team of 3 persons and want to post it here, please do so.

Basil Dreadflint 10-28-2009 01:53 PM

TONIGHT!!!

I plan to get ingame around 8, but just in case I can't:

Scavenger Hunt!
I will post the Scavenger Hunt list at 9 Eastern. I will make note of the time stamp here when I post the list. Everyone will have 1 hour to go find as many answers as they can, and PM me with the answers. Due to it being a short time period, and a timed event, everything will be just questions and answers, no screenies required. Your answer PM must be sent to me within the one hour limit. I think that the list can be done in about 30 - 45 minutes, so it shouldn't be too hard to do.

Bobbing for Enemies!
Again, this game is played in teams of 3 pirates. Team up early, if you can. It will save time getting it started. At 10 Eastern, we will all gather together, and I will give the final instructions then. This will require at least 1 screenie per team be posted here on POF, but it can be posted later, or even tomorrow. The screenie is just for verification, and amusement.

Costume Contest!
At 11 we will gather again for pics and voting on the 4 costume categories. Remember:
Best Costume
Worst Costume
Best Dressed
Worst Dressed

See you all tonight!

Sarah 10-28-2009 05:38 PM

Be on asap tonight! Who wants to bob for enemies with me? LOL can't wait ;)

Crazypirate 10-28-2009 06:41 PM

LoL I lost power for ten minutes as I was reading your post.

Oh, and your dance isn't working! Dance harder!

Sarah 10-28-2009 09:18 PM

OOps Wrong dance...

Looks very pretty though!

Kid Heartbreaker 10-28-2009 09:54 PM

I hope my DSL behaves tonight. I made it on just in time for 2 Invasions this afternoon - then changed into my Garb.

DSL has been acting up with a lot of Downstream CRC Errors. I was doing some website work just now and got hit with over 5,000 Errors and lost connection.

The provider made a software change this morning and it was so-so durring the day. But, with that many errors at a pop, the line needs to be looked at. Too bad they can't do that until Thurs morning.

I'll keep my fingers crossed - wish I could keep the wires un-crossed!

Basil Dreadflint 10-28-2009 10:46 PM

Is it snowing in the south? No? Then the dance is working. Laws of probability though, if Sarah's dance keeps the snow out of her area, it has to go somewhere else. Looks like you got the nomination, Piper.

Happy Halloween Dueces!

Basil Dreadflint 10-29-2009 01:27 PM

Results from the Scavenger Hunt and costume voting will be posted tonight or tomorrow. I have a bunch of screenies and stuff to post, but that's all on the other puter.

Suffice it to say:

We had a great turnout, and everyone had on exceptional costumes. Some really stood out. You guys and ladies are the best!

I think that DW is the only guild in the Caribbean that would go out and kill enemies using nothing but head butt as a weapon! (No one else is nutty enough to even think to do something like that.)

I'll score the Scav Hunt today and tonight, and get everything posted ASAP, but give me just a couple of days.

Thanks everyone for a fun night!

Sarah 10-29-2009 08:14 PM

Alright, gonna have to call you out on 1 and 9...

Bronze John's house has 7. That whopper of a thing on the floor in front of the shelves is a jug, it has a handle ;). Did you catch the bottle of poison rum all the way in the back in the barrel? There were four on the shelf, and one on the table. Bah, now I need to go back and look through my screenies...

As for Soloman's, there are six distinct bottles hanging in the back, but there is a bottle on the shelf that is deffinately a different color than those six :P

EDIT!! OH, John Smith! That bandana doesn't cover either of his ears, you can see both of them.. The FLAP thingy is over the left, but it ain't covered....thought that may have been your trick question, LOL

*runs
:)
