Trouble Logging In?

Am I the only one who is getting Bad account or password message?
I can't even load the POTCO site properly.

Aliese 10-04-2009 05:38 PM

It's not just you. I keep getting the "There was a problem verifying the account ID" error.

Captain Del 10-04-2009 05:38 PM

Same problem for me. They might be adding the invasions as we speak, but may not. One can pray ^.^

bartholomew bladeroberts 10-04-2009 05:45 PM

Deadpool 10-04-2009 05:46 PM

Hmm.... Just tried with same results

moonspinner 10-04-2009 05:59 PM

I'm also recieving the bad account error. Glad it's not just me.

BayStalker 10-04-2009 06:00 PM

fireguru56 10-04-2009 06:18 PM

Same....... Update maybe?

swashbuckler II 10-04-2009 06:22 PM

Doubt its an update, while trying to update level 50 list, site was down....

Sarah 10-04-2009 06:27 PM

ToonTown is down as well. I think someone tripped over the big power cord at Disney...

Xhex 10-04-2009 06:28 PM

I like Sarah's answer.

There are several. So it's the game. :psmiley35:

Guess I'll be on test more today. :skull:

Botuu 10-04-2009 06:30 PM

Happened to me on all three of my accounts. Something isn't right, but I am sure the overseers will get it straightend out in good order,

Meg

swashbuckler II 10-04-2009 06:30 PM

Test IS working? Hmmm.... I think the test server is on another power supply or something if it is then....

Nvm, just taking forever to load...

I like this answer as well, bahaha.

Pixie Hollow is still working, by the looks of it.

Just seems to be ToonTown and Pirates.

"Pirates is currently experiencing an unplanned outage, we apologize for the inconvin "

Would it kill them to finish the sentence before posting? LoL

Oh wow I didn't notice that, but lol!
I'm hoping along with the others that they ARE adding invasions..I think my pirates card runs out by next weekend. :(

canadianbeauty 10-04-2009 06:46 PM

How long has it been down for?

There is NO way the invasions are ready to hit open. I'm sure it's just a burp in the system.

EDIT: It's kinda looking like POTCO and the site is officially down, both of them. It looks a little like it's been hacked or something... The error message is interesting: "Bad Gateway The proxy server received an invalid response from an upstream server. Apache/2.0.52 (Red Hat) Server at piratesonline.go.com Port 80" That upstream server looks like hacker activity or something, then again I don't know much about hackers. XD

While this stinks, that mistake is HILARIOUS. Something must have scared the person who was typing it out...
Maybe Jolly Roger materialized and terrorized the whole Disney staff!
But then... Then he saw the Disney fairies, and he was scared to death or something. XD
Then again, Toon Town certainly didn't scare him... XD

MacIronhawk 10-04-2009 08:19 PM

It doesn't sound like someone tried to hack them to me. It sounds more like their connection is broken. Invalid reponse from an upstream server sounds like a problem, not a hack.

I could be wrong, but to me it just sounds like they're down.

EDIT: I think I found out what it means.
Quote:

HTTP Error 502 - Bad gateway

A server (not necessarily a Web server) is acting as a gateway or proxy to fulfil the request by the client (e.g. your Web browser or our CheckUpDown robot) to access the requested URL. This server received an invalid response from an upstream server it accessed to fulfil the request.

This usually does not mean that the upstream server is down (no response to the gateway/proxy), but rather that the upstream server and the gateway/proxy do not agree on the protocol for exchanging data. Given that Internet protocols are quite clear, it often means that one or both machines have been incorrectly or incompletely programmed.

catherine sunhayes 10-04-2009 08:21 PM

Aw, someone would have to be really mean to hack disney of all things. lol.

True that! :piratetongueor4:

Jack Chainward 10-04-2009 08:30 PM

It doesnt let me logon but doesnt necessarily say bad account id and password

Lady Freckles 10-04-2009 09:04 PM

We're getting a huge amount of reports on TTC that people can't log in, and a few reports from the Pixies too. Some have managed to finally get on to TT after trying over and over.

Hopefully they will have the problems resolved soon. Doesn't Disney know how many Toons, Pirates and Pixies are all in a panic right now?

Fallingstarrz 10-04-2009 09:22 PM

Oh, thank goodness! I thought I got hacked or something.. great to hear that I'm not the only one experiencing this. Haha, Disney should really finish the inconvin.. makes em seem kinda.. non-proffesional? Idk, but it just struck me as odd. Still, totally wanted to get on today. Too bad I can't!:zu02zq: oooo well :P

Deadpool 10-04-2009 09:33 PM

I think I'm back in now.
After multiple tries it finally let me in

Aaron McEagle 10-04-2009 09:47 PM

Should i just keep trying?:pirate91:

Shnoodell 10-04-2009 09:56 PM

ToonTown is back up perfect and running, so I would be willing to bet that everything is done and fixed. (Disney works on Sundays?)

~Ignores Dead~ HaHa JK

Sven Osymthe 10-04-2009 10:31 PM

I guess i'm lucky.. i've had no problems logging in all day..

Captain Del 10-04-2009 11:14 PM

Able to log on now, so they might have everything back up and running.

MacIronhawk 10-04-2009 11:25 PM

I just logged on, so I think they got things working again.

Dockwrecker The Privateer 10-05-2009 01:17 AM

they changed their message on the offical site. says there may be problems logging in.

Benjamin Goldeagle 10-05-2009 04:16 AM

I emailed Pirates Online about this problem, and here is the exact reply I got:
Quote:

Dear Benjamin,

Sometimes we are required to close Pirates temporarily due to additional
maintenance needs. This is done to ensure the best possible experience for our
guests. We have been working hard so these closures will affect as few guests as
possible by timing them to non-peak playing times, but sometimes we do need to
close Pirates for emergency outages. While we do not offer credit for server
down time, please be assured that we are hard at work to reduce the time and
frequency of these outages, so our guests can get back in game as soon as
possible.

Thank you for your patience and we hope to see you in-game soon!

Oh well, at least it's back.
You know, they REALLY need to give us warnings. It's kinda odd that they don't...
