Why I still don't trust DXD....

edwardburnskull 10-01-2009 11:34 PM

?
*gasps*
a glitcher!

Sarah 10-02-2009 12:11 AM

For a while in 2007 dxd would show pirates at levs 41 and 42. Probably the same bug it had back then, and something to do with the cap raise. Shouldn't take D more than a year or so to fix it....:)

Sven Osymthe 10-02-2009 12:13 AM

I was looking around and found a screen shot posted by someone else (not on pof)

Click the image to view the full version

Not sure what went on there..

swashbuckler II 10-02-2009 01:43 AM

Time for a level 51 list? XD

Chris 10-02-2009 03:26 AM

Wow that is weird I know DXD marked level 40's as level 41 and 42 but that was only on DXD. To actually have it say 51 in the game is weird.

swashbuckler II 10-02-2009 04:08 AM

I think I might have already found this glitch... still need to do some testing though...

swashbuckler II 10-03-2009 07:59 PM

Uh oh, nother level 51 out there.....

Cannonfury 10-03-2009 08:31 PM

I wouldn't assume their hacking, as that would probably mean changing various codes to make them appear to be a level 51.

Also, if you were to change codes to make yourself a level 51, because you know how panda3d works, odds are you'd be banned. I'm sure Disney can detect hackers and stop them.

Also, why are we coming to a conclusion that people hacked? How do we know this isn't just a bug in the game? We see level 50s and people call them cheaters sometimes. It could be due to a bug, or Disney actually wants us to earn rep after mastering our weapons. I just don't think coming to the conclusion that people hacked is good considering there are other ways this could have happened.

swashbuckler II 10-03-2009 11:58 PM

Sent a bug report to disney, and got back with this

So If anyone knows this glitch, either send a bug report to disney Saying how to do it.... Or PM me saying how then yeah, Ill send it to Them

swashbuckler II 10-07-2009 01:38 PM

ok well, this doesnt seem like a glitch you can do, you just "Hit" level 51 after you build up alot of rep...
btw, sercees is level 52...

Maximvs 10-07-2009 04:32 PM

Well I would calcualte that L51 would just be the next progression of REP from 50 (where's all the math folks areound here... they could tell you what REP is needed from L50 to 51 :D )

If theres any 'bug' to it - its that they didn't lock down the 50 into the 'Pirate Master' Circle again... but if anything like last time they will just cut everyones level.

Maybe this time though - ya get to keep L51 ;)

Cannonfury 10-24-2009 12:05 PM

I know someone who is lvl 54.

Chris Stormshot 10-24-2009 02:08 PM

Well, the Notoriety level bar doesn't stop at Lv. 50, so why should they stop at Lv. 50? =P
CS~

true...but some people dont like the way some lvl...by speeding.

Jamesvsthekraken 10-25-2009 10:36 PM

two words.. Disney fails lol:laughks2:

Captain Seafarer CO. 10-25-2009 11:38 PM

I saw a lv 50 whose card showed lv 51. I told him, he seemed the least interested about what I was telling him, the jerk, anyway,,, there you have it, sometimes on a list or card it's shown as a higher level than they really are.

Cpt. Charlotte Doyle 10-27-2009 06:01 AM

but if you look at the screen shots offered, its not only the game card that's doing it. it is also the level displayed on the name tag...

joere444 10-30-2009 06:52 PM

It's something my friend at school told me about. It's a cheat engine....

Basically you have to download a certain program that is used to activate certain cheats. It's a specific program though. My friend showed it to me but honestly I don't like the idea cause if you can lvl tht fast you wont have any fun.

CarribeanThunder 11-01-2009 09:51 PM

This is a bug. I had seen a Lv53 founder during one of those Ghost GM things.
Also, cheat engine users ( although are rude and dumb to speed the process of getting rep ) have nothing to do with this.

To those of you who do reach Lv51, congratulations. I'd like to see someone at Lv100 :laughks2: ( It'll be impossible, don't you worry ).

benjamin_warmenace 11-16-2009 03:42 AM

leveling after 50

Hi, i'm "level 54" lol. I have NEVER used any cheat engines or glitches to level (besides that Esquago thing that happens every now and then where the enemy ships don't shoot back...). I actually hit level 51 on accident. It surprised the heck out of me when it happened. I was killing vets at kingshead working on the enemies defeated leaderboard and BAM i glowed! It is a glitch, kinda sorta... but it's not a hack or a cheat. I reported it to Disney, and i'm sure they are working hard to fix it... here's how it works....

After you hit level 50, when you defeat enemies, Notoriety points no longer show up, because 50 is "the max." BUT some rep DOES count, it just doesn't show up. Here's what i know so far:

1. the 25 notoriety that you get from enemies that give you valuables (like chess pieces or navy decorations) still counts. So if you defeated a few thousand enemies a day (like me :D ) you can level at a pretty quick rate.

2. the rep from invasions still counts! this is the fastest way to get rep after 50. It's how i've done A LOT of my leveling.

That's what i have so far. I hope that was helpful :) (sorry for the long-windedness of my response)

Fair winds!

Maximvs 11-16-2009 03:50 AM

Well I'm not going to push too hard - after seeing L41's and 42's get cut back to 40 a while back - I'd hate to intentionally work towards higher than 50 only to watch it get taken away with an update.

I'll work the other pirates once this one is 50, and continue to do so until they officially raise the bar :)

hector wildbones 12-13-2009 07:56 AM

I was on piratesonline.com and i looked at level leaderboards and the highest level pirate on it is level 62

Angel Seafish 12-13-2009 05:07 PM

Nope. It was 63 I believe.

AngelStormsilver 12-15-2009 02:55 AM

lvl 51

I seen someone with a lvl 51 and when I clicked on his character for info it said 50 on his card. How do you explain that?

Then I saw someone else who was lvl 40 with a basic membership. I figured they had had an unlimited membership in the past. I guess that is possible?

cheeseperson 12-21-2009 10:23 PM

It is not cheating.

One of my friends is a level 51, and the way you can become one is mastering notoriety first before weapons. Then, with invasions, he became level 51 because you still get reputation. Same thing with a guy who is level 64.

Merry Christmas!
:xmastree: :xmastree:

CaptainElizabeth 12-23-2009 08:20 AM

OMG i know someone who is 51 too! My GM(Spartan) he is level 51!(:
How is that possible???

swordshot 12-23-2009 01:01 PM

OK,I ment a lvl 51 in RL.She said its not a glitch. All you do it kill and do quest and everything else. You dont see the rep going into the rep bar the tiny letters counts it though. So its not a glitch, just playing the game. :)

Yes I don't get groggy with me Master pirate no more! It makes invasions a real blast!
:piratear:

Aaron McEagle 01-16-2010 02:10 PM

As soon as you hit level 50 you cant get groggy... kind of like a reward :laughks2:

Cpt. Charlotte Doyle 01-17-2010 01:21 AM

ha, you'd think a mastered pirate would get groggier...

Same. Took a pic of them during the Feats of Strength competition. Freaked me out until I realized they weren't in my race, hahaha.

Ham 03-10-2010 02:24 AM

Cool. Getting there by accident or just playing the game, I like. Your most likely to do so. But cheating to do so, I HATE when people do that. What makes it worse, Rep stealing.

Midhav 03-10-2010 08:12 AM

i think its a glitch that came with the huge Invasion rep....

skullduggery bones 03-10-2010 12:31 PM

I turned level 51 during the defeat a skeleton competition. believe me it is a shock and there is no warning it was going to happen. From level 51 on you can see your rep again, and if you look at my pic you can see I have stopped now nearly 27k into level 52. It seemed treasure dropped gave you 25 rep (if you looked quickly you could see it disappearing off the top left hand side of the screen when it was dropped) which was added to notoriety even after all weapons were maxed and notoriety topped. And ALL rep from invasions counted. The cap was fixed quite a while back now but some are stuck at notoriety over 50. With the early invasions giving a decent amount of rep it was quite easy to level up quick (took me 4 days to get from 51 to 52) Not everyone 'cheated' you know.

Ham 03-13-2010 02:26 AM

I wonder if the same glitch works with weapons too.

Eric o rackham 04-28-2010 11:08 PM

That would be a cool idea, if somebody would figure out how they would eventually have a lv 40 pistol, sword, etc.

sushi064 05-06-2010 01:16 AM

I've seen level 54...

pmwaker 06-25-2010 11:31 PM

i saw a guy lvl 55 and 56. they said they were brothers and told each other how to get that high. i dont know if its a glitch or if you can still get notoriety after lvl 50.

Nick The Titan 08-22-2010 08:04 PM

Ya ive seen people like that but they have fixed the glitch but it would be awesome to go to lv 100

Maybe time to change the level caps on everything and new skills for the weapons while there at it.

JM Ohara 08-31-2010 12:41 PM

Honestly I think that another cap raise may be coming. With this new island and (possibly) a quest or more with it then all of us with mastered pirates will want to be able to actually get the rep for it.

Am I looking forward to another cap raise? Not on your life! I have several pirates beyond my mastered pirate, 3 of which are closing in on 40 or 50. If the cap goes up to say 60, then I, along with a lot of other people, wouldl have a lot more work to do.

angel 4ever 08-31-2010 02:42 PM

i think it be fun! haha poor poor jm will have to bring all ur pirates out again lol

Tiberius Fireskull 09-01-2010 01:33 AM

I personally can wait for another cap raise.... think about how much rep it took to get to lv 50. Now think about getting to lv 60. 70? 80? 90? 100? Im not even going to imagine how much rep you will need to get to lv 100, but I'm guessing that it would have to be at least 200K. Maybe if they changed it so that after you hit level 50, you level up based on how many enemies of a certain level you kill. It would just take way too long to level up at that point
