Proof: The Kraken and more.
 

:th_shark: Davy is lurking, and now i have proof. Whilst searching the phase files, i ran across some interesting things. I found such things as the kraken's body, tentacles, and even his attacks sitting in the middle of a bunch of other stuff. Wierdly enough, I also found location names. To name a few, Hollowed Woods, Serpents Triangle, Shipwreck Bay, and Madre del feugo.

Indeed it is proof that they are, or at least have worked on it. Proof weve had for sometime now.
There have been kraken images in the phase files for months now, probably over a year.

Developers also tend to leave stuff in the phase files even if they dont use it, not knowing if they might again in the future.
There is definately some old remnants of data/images, etc in the phase files.
Its impossible to determine from the phase files the direction the game is going.

Madre is actually just a mistake on disney's part. For some reason or another all Padres Del Fuego files are listed as Madre_del_fuego instead of Padre_del_fuego. Hadn't seen the other two places in the files, I'll have to check that out. :mickeypiratezd4:

But yeah, as everyone else said the Kraken files have been there for quite some time, disney even posted a 3d model without textures a while back. Always neat to run across stuff like that though.

Indeed, the Kraken is in our phase files. I used them to make this picture last year.

shipwreck bay? sounds line an other of those movie locations put on a different island.or neer one i should say, i wonder if its a sea location like the hinerseas or boiling bay

Oh There were quite a few. Oh, by the way Jack, In the same list Madre and Padre del feugo were listed one after the other. As for your question Dockwrecker, more included: Sir John's Trench, Blade Bay, Puerto Nuevo, and The hall of cards. I also found , alongside the black pearl, the Flying Dutchman, and the Dauntless, ( The Interceptor from the first movie )

thx sounds like some nice stuff. do you think its just names or perhaps are there almost a whole lot that could be preped for the game?

This is clearly something they've worked on. i shouldn't be suprised if they brought these out in the future.

I agree. I would like to see some pictures of animation and other pictures of the Kraken. He was taken out of the files a while back, and I(and perhaps others) haven't been able to access the files because POTCO updated their version of Panda, so that you can't get in until they update it again.

i started to think on it... and perhaps madre del fuego is the old padres and padre del fuego listed is the new padres....also ive heard theres a bilgewater in there did you find that?

That's what I think so as well. In the mp3 music files, the old padres music is listed as madre del fuego. AS for bilgewater, i've seen it, but it's not much.

how do ye check these phase files an' all? and how do ye extract music from it. i want old pdf's music

better yet old Kingheads music. instead of making new music they might give each island a rotation of of its own music. with one song that plays the most as the theme. i REALLY miss the old sea music with the fife or flute or whatever the wooodwind insterment it was.

old kings can be heard by getting sheet music . but you haven't answered my question - what are phase files and how do ye access them?

i don't go in them, havent the program at this time.but mac and keeeper should be able to help you. i think you have to download panda 3d ,its a game engine.

The phase files are files named exactly that in the games files.. phase1, phase2 etc.
They are basically resource files used by the games programming code.

They can be opened (like unzipping a zip file), using a Panda3D utility, and then one can go through the files extracted from them.

This consists of texture and graphic images, sound files, sprites, and other bits of code called frequently by the game.

I believe some have a misconception of whats being seen in these files.

You wont open the files and find a picture of the Kraken for example, although there may be one small picture used in various places of the game. You can find textures of the Krakens tentacles, beak, etc. You can find sound files associated with the Krakens actions, as well as all the other images/textures used in the game.
You will not find a picture of an island, you will find various image masks and stuff used to create the image of an island within the game.

What im trying to say is, that opening and reviewing the data in the phase files is not all that some might think its cracked up to be.

Its developers information, and its not designed or organized for end user review. The files are not presented in an end user perspective.

You may also keep in mind that any image, sound file, etc in these files is not necessarily an indication of what is to come, they could simply be something that a developer was using in testing a concept, or could be a remnant from a prior concept they attempted to implement.

Rumors should not be started based on the contents of these files as any conclusions made are purely the hypothesis/opinions of the person reviewing the material. Doing so without any knowledge of POTCO developers game plan simply lays a path for uncertainty amongst the community and gets them ready for something that may never happen.

It's a shame Disney is so darn slow at releasing updates. Seriously, with their team they should at LEAST be able to do like two of those kinds of things a month.
Then again, I only have minor experience with 2D Flash games, Panda 3D must be much different...
Either that, or those Disney scoundrels are too busy drinking coffee all the time or something. XD :buds:

i think disney is foreshadowing that the kraken is coming next but who knows i hope im right and its not another teaser like in march with the green ocean what do you guys think and have you seen this?

Yeah its in the game for decorations on your inventory but that wasnt there before i am sure of it.

And how do you view the kraken phase files? liek you know view the picture of it.

Well, c'mon, guys, were you actually ever expecting them to not ever have the Kraken in the game? It was always planned. The question's just always been when they're gonna release it.

I found an audio file named Kraken_Sink_Ship. It was above the madre del fuego audio file. It sounds ominous. It was in the audio files of Phase_5. You should check it out.
