Anyone planning on playing Star Trek Online?
 

I know it hasn't officially been released yet but I was wondering who else is planning on playing the game? Anybody get accepted to beta yet?

I might, but I never really liked Star Trek. Once it is released, do tell me how good it is. I might try it out, depending on if it is good or not.

Star Trek Online will be awesome. Thats what I am waiting my whole life :p

Its a little bit like POTCO, just in space, plus you can modify your ship have 4 NPC's fighting at your side. It will rock :D

My Guild supports STO as Main Game now. Because we are all trekkers :p

I may actually try it out to have a look - though my budget at the moment only handles one MMO and thats pirates.

I am hoping to see it really turn out as good as the previews show :)

I was on the site.... do you have to buy it at a store or download it?Also is it like POTCO were there is diffrent rooms and you can chat with people also play with them fight with them?Well if u have to download NO if its free YES if you have to buy in NO

You have to buy it like most games.

Honestly you cant do anything in POTCO when you dont subscribe to it. So its basicly the same.

I was halfway through applying for Beta when I realized it is a PC only game.

Yes... Same thing with the Star Wars Online game. I will be using the Windows partition or might even get a PC.

The good thing is I do have a PC.. for the time being. Bad news is, Im not sure how much longer it'll last. *crosses fingers* But was still hoping to use my Mac for it :/ Oh well. At least I have another option.

Yes, you pay, you buy it at a store. It's $50 bucks, way prohibitive, but yes, I'm saving up to buy it. I've seen some of the adds, it looks phenomenal! Anyone gonna play as Federation feel free to shoot me a PM. Seriously, you guys should see the trailer for the alien creator!:psmiley27:

I have a beta Invite so I will try it, and let you Know. I like Star Trek, and Star Wars. I was disappointed with Galaxies. What have I been reading and looking up online it looks promising.

Idk i might depends but ik i am going to play star wars the old republic. looks fun! i might just have to look at trailors now lol

I don't really like either. A pirates like for me. I'm really not a "Space Cadet".

Actually the first Star Trek series came out in 1966. The first Star Wars wasn't till 1977. Anyway, they really are two totally different things.

I agree with you Hawke. They are two very very different things.

1. Star trek is competing with SWTOR and releasing way to early just like pirates did
2. I was under the impression that it was a one time $50 dollar fee to play online, but i recieved an email today asking me to buy there lifetime sub ($240!) or look at there "great" monthly fees, now i dont know about you but i think a mmo should either pick, buy the disk, or download and pay by month, so it may or may not be a good game but it is not worth the risk of buying it and not liking it because most game stores do not accept pc game returns because of how easy it is to burn a pc game.
