Will you do the Casa de Muertos Guild Quest?

I know there is a similar poll out there but I figure now that we know we DO affect the way the story goes, that some may change their answer. So keeping in mind that whatever the majority of POTCO decides to do, whether that be to accept the quest or not, will you be doing the quest or not?

Kraken Guard 09-04-2009 07:15 PM

Yes. If these guys are working for Jolly Roger (Or Davy Jones) Then count me in on it!

Bartholomew Foulsteel 09-04-2009 08:20 PM

I have completed the quest on two of my pirates and am starting on a third.

The Skirata Clan 09-04-2009 08:24 PM

Is there a new quest out there by that good for nothing Walter? If not, I will be siding with Rott!

I know Disney implied that, but I read it to mean that IF pirates help Rott and his guild (they will) THEN the next story chapter unfolds.

These guys take a year to get to the point of getting ready to announce that they are going to eventually suggest that there could be a new story chapter coming out. I don't believe they are going to waste their time writing TWO story chapters (that would make no sense if they can only use one), and I would hate to think that the reason we don't have a new story chapter yet is because they were developing TWO and are waiting to see which one they will use.

I wouldn't over-analysze this one, mates. Do the quest, let loose Jolly Roger on Port Royal so we can have the next story chapter. Otherwise, all you're doing is NOT getting rep and gold.

I already did them on Matthew , going to on Isaiah later today , and possibly tomorrow for Chen.

Yes, they give good rep and good money so yes I will

combatlizzy 09-05-2009 01:02 AM

Hmmm........decisions...decisions. But no matter what decision this pirate makes, it doesn't affect the majority of pirates on POTCO. And the majority rules...Aye?

Captain Walter never offered me gold. I don't care if its handing myself into the navy, if its for gold, its worth it enough for me!

Cpt. Charlotte Doyle 09-05-2009 03:41 AM

Charlotte has officially started them, as has sirene. my other pirate, Stark im not sure about.

MacIronhawk 09-05-2009 04:16 AM

After doing the quest for level twenties and over, one of the guild members called me a fool. Never have I wanted so much revenge on an NPC before.

I wanted to help them and they repay me by calling me a fool? I want port royal to be destroyed. No more navy equals more fun for us pirates.

Stephen O'Malley 09-05-2009 06:20 AM

One of my friends came up to me and told me to ask my guild's GM if the Casa de Meurtos Quests were cursed. I had already done them all by then, and was perplexed on why he asked that. When I asked why he just said that a GM from TEST made all of his members not do the quest.

Still wondering will, or even IF, something happens if you do the quest. But for now, I'm enjoying my 10K gold and 5000 reputation :).

gingeeann 09-05-2009 10:25 AM

I might do the quest for my poor, low level pirate but the rep and gold are not really that much of an incentive for me. I prefer leveling my pirate's weapons up for rep and just doing quests for teleporation and weapons. My 41 Catherine did not quest much until level 35. My one level 20, Kat, has 0% done on the pearl quest. It seems to me that if your rep comes from weapons leveling not questing your health is better. I save questing for higher level when it is harder to get.

At first I was a little cautious, advising a few friends to not take the quest from what I've been told. From what I heard, if you complete the Casa de Murtos guild quest, you forfeit your "soul" to Jolly Roger and release the protecting hexes over Port Royal, allowing Roger to cast his curse of the Caribbean and begin his invasion. Despite the "consequences" of doing the quest, you get around 5,000 Rep and 10,000 gold. As the saying goes, "it's just good business."

Eliza Creststeel 09-06-2009 06:07 AM

Blurred right through them for Eliza and Bucky will do them soon.

Rnmusie 09-06-2009 12:45 PM

in my guild one of our officers was saying it was cursed and i still did the quest i thought she was trying to scare us but it might be true.....

JM Ohara 09-06-2009 02:54 PM

Cursed? Doubtful. Did I do it? You bet I did! I have 8 pirates. Of them, only my level 36 was able to do all the quests. One leveled up to 16 in doing them, so 2 did the fourth quest. Two more did the quests up to the 3rd one. Five of them did the level 9 one, one of them making it to 10 on it. And three pirates are so baby that they could only do the first quest. Was it worth it?

Let's see, all but my newest baby funneled their gold to Kat, my biggest pirate and the one currently in use. She started Friday with a bit more than 24K in gold. She ended the day with a bit more than 48K, me having blasted through all my babies as well as the first 3 on Kat herself. Yesterday I finished Kat and she now has 54K gold. I made 30K in just 2 days!! Worth it? You bet it is! You tell me another way to earn 30K with that little work. Took me literally 6 weeks to decide (finally) that I might as well buy a war frigate. It will be inside a week for me to actually earn the thing. :psmiley27:

Got a lot of glows doing this too, not just for notoriety, but for weapons on the baby pirates. Out of my 8 half hit a new notoriety level doing these.

So what if this brings down Jolly Roger? Let it!! Walter and his little buddies took far too long putting out new stuff. I may not have had to wait for it myself, but many in my guild did. If this is gonna hurry them up on adding a second chapter to the Pearl Quest, you bet I'm gonna help it along. :degen: (And the gold and rep were a very nice bonus indeed!)

For those of you who think that maybe all pirates who do it will end up undead, I'm not so sure, but if we do, oh well. :skull: Imagine the fun of mass PvP's on open beaches! Nother little side benefit there.:laughks2:

I don't think they can really do anything bad to us, cause as Dr. Zeppers pointed out on another thread, they gave no warning that anything bad would happen to anyone doing these quests. That's just my thought. What everyone else does is up to them.

However, I do think it's wrong for a GM to tell their guild members how they can or can not play the game. It's not a GM's place to say you have to not do a quest. Yes, a GM is in theory the most important member in a guild. They are also, in practice, members of said guild themselves. I would say if a GM tries to force players to play their way, even for something this small, than said GM better expect to see some of the guildmates leave for it!:7c810c6517:

Mates, look: Juliana Fireheart already asked Disney and GM Cayman Trench replied.

The decision to complete the quest (or not) won't change your individual outcome, however the number of Pirates that complete the quest WILL determine future events in the Caribbean. Good luck mates, either way you'll need it.
So ye see? Your choosing to do or avoid the quest will have no effect on your outcome.

As for what happens based on how many complete the quest, I seriously doubt that too. I believe this quest is just a setup for the next story chapter.

Do ye want a new story chapter or not?

Basil Dreadflint 09-06-2009 08:41 PM

Did it, Did it, Did it, Did it, and will do it again and again!

4 down, two more to go!
