Able to use the kraken???

So.... when this kraken does come out and you beat this boss from the quest wouldn't it be cool if you could now USE the kraken as a skill on your ship???
I mean, davy jones gets to use it on his ship why not us if we "capture" it or "defeat" it.
Maybe even use leadership OR kraken icon as number 8 while sailing....
If you get a crew on board your ship you can go to the middle and press shift to start turning the wheel to release the kraken like in the movies.
The more crew members on board the faster it comes out.
The kraken will attack the enemies ship near you and do a TON of damage.
It takes twice as long as leadership to come back but its a hoot to watch it!!!

These are just ideas. You may comment on what ever you would like.

I sorta like it, but I don't see it happening. Its a nice idea, but it would also be bad. If your on a crowded server, plenty of ships are there.. what if everyone uses the skill at once?

The Kraken played such a temporary role in the films, probably the shortest role in the film. Spotted in the middle of the 2nd movie, swallows Sparrow at the end of the 2nd, and its only appearance in the 3rd movie was it dead, rotting on the beach! The Kraken was Davy Jones "pet", and did his bidding and noone elses. It was also killed off in story by Davy Jones himself (as stated by Lord Beckett in POTC#3).

They would also need to give us a means of defending our ships against it because it would be available im SvS too.

It would be neat, but I dont believe that its feasible from the story line perspective, the playability perspective, or the performance related issues pointed to by Sven.

I like this idea but it would be hazzardous in svs such as the kraken sinks a light sloop in 1 go every time.

Since D is now looking to push out a storyline post-haste :D and the kraken I don't think is ready yet - I wouldn't expect to see it with the upcoming storyline (and its not mentioned with Rott's Crew in chat or in any recent Disney story releases...)

Not to say I'll be missing him - if it means we get a second quest soon without him he can come along later :)

Once he does arrive though - we already have Cannon Shot for it so it is ready to go :)

What if this movie/action scene only happens with you and the other ship???
If the other ship can defend off the kraken for X amount of time then the kraken dies for X amount more time than usual???

That sounds like a better idea :D

this would be SO FUN to use, imagine: your on a light sloop, oh no, a juggernaught, RELEASE THE KRAKEN!! and the jugger sinks! but, i would ban it in svs, we would be able to switch out the leadership and kraken hammer for number 8, using both at once would be unfair ;)
AND the kraken would just go straight forward so you have to aim, if you miss, you need to wait until it recharges to use it again

Mates! I was trolling the waters between Kingshead and Padres Del Fuego and spotted an ODD dot of light in the water. A couple of my gunners also saw this object.

Now, I know they talked about the Kraken appearing near Tormenta WHEN it ever comes but I wonder if this dot is possibly a place holder...

I have seen smoke, fires, lights and a few other bizarre things while sailing.

I usually consider them graphic artifacts the server has lost track of, like a ship that had been sunk their earlier, and the wake created did not completely dissappate.

It sure would be interesting.. I like the idea but like it's been said, most likely not going to happen.

I can't wait to see this Kraken, I have a feeling it's going to be worth the wait.

I think thats just a fury cannon ball that got glitched out on the ocean, it happens to me all the time when I'm sailing.

Probably a glitched graphic in your game cache then. Lets be honest and realistic here. They are not going to have this mystery spot in the middle of the sea as a secret indicator of where the kraken is. As it is now, they are hyping the new cave environments before they even get put on open. You think they are NOT going to be hyping up the Krakens upcoming arrival on their news?

I agree with zep all that is is a glitched fury cannon ball. Besides why would the kraken be a white orb?

However to clarify my point.

Im fairly certain they do not put visible "placemarks" in the game. There would be no point to it. Besides the Kraken in a fixed position would make no sense.

Just not seeing this as any reason to start a rumor, obviously based on imagination, and no facts. Meanwhile many have experienced exactly what is being displayed throughout the game, these experiences seem to contradict the imaginative theory in this case.

Well, maybe it seemed like a place holder, because if you notice that while your forging in Halo 3, each item gets a small glowing place marker until you actually begin the game either on xbox live, or custom games. Thats what made me hope. What server and area was this marker located? If more people have it, than it could be?!? ;)
