Are you willing to do the quest Captain Ezekiel Rott asks you to, or are you
going to side with Captain Walter and NOT do the quest?

why shouldnt we do the quest? if we do, itll be an oppertunity for MORE content :D

What happens if we don't do the quest? If it comes down to: Do the quest and you one thing happens, or don't do it and another happens. I think it would be interesting not to do it. But if it makes no difference then I'd like to do it. So I'm a bit caught.

Well, quite interesting as all that seems.

Im quite sure that all pirates are being setup for the outcome, which is not likely an option.
I see it as all being part of the story, since they are only letting a few pirates know of these 'dangers', Captain Walter will put the weight of what happens on all the other pirates in the game. Rott makes his plight known to all with presence (hes standing on the beach with his crew!) and quests. What has Captain Walter offered to ALL the pirates of the Caribbean? Heresay, rhetoric, and information which lacks 'focus' (leaving all interpretation up to us pirates). I not be against Captain Walter mateys... but

Weve all heard the saying "Put yer money where yer mouth is..." and well, I havent gotten a cent from Captain Walter.... (not even a helpful hand or hint)

I guess there isn't a third option, you either do it or don't:laughks2:

I (at this moment) am not sure if I will do the quest. All I really get out of it is gold (and a "ok" amount of rep), this does nothing for me. I have maxed gold, and I will get all the rep I need when the next story line comes out. However, Disney will more than likely go down this route even if we don't do the quest.. so even if I chose not to, it wouldn't matter.

If I do go on at the time the quest is released to open, I will only do it if I have nothing better to be doing. Won't be at the top of my to-do list.

Is this quest only on test right now or open and test?

I'll be doing the quest either way. I like going against what Captain Walter wants us to do. Always fun to be on the baddies side... :)

Well they absolutely cannot penalize pirates in any way for having done these quests (on open), without having given some public information on the official site for everyone to have a chance to interpret. Really, should all take place in game, and not via the site, and for that matter not via any specially arranged meetings. You cant present choices that determine a players outcome without explaining the choices, or that they are even making such a choice that would effect them. Every MMORG I have played tells you when you are about to make a decision of any magnitude that will control your path.

I just don't like that good for nothing Walter! I owe my allegiance to the highest bidder.

If they dont announce anything on the site as far as this effecting your pirates path, then its just something else to do that they put a twist of their lore on.

I started a new pirate on test... afterall, im testing. With those quests, he was able to level up quickly, and buy a new ship real fast. Those quests are perfect for the new starting pirate.

I don't think he's trustworthy simply because his last name is Rott..... Rott as in "We will rot in the ground". Although, I do want my actions to doom us all... I mean... I want gold. So, yes, I will do the quest when it hits open

See , if everyone does the quest and port royal becomes full of skeletons ,
as it already is like in the grave yard , I see no problem with taking the dark path.

See being a pirate if we let Port Royal got to pot,
then we have a chance to clear it up for even more gold , so far I think I speak for all

He's not trustworthy. HOWEVER, I will do thee quest. I WANT Jolly Roger to show. Besides, there are plenty who WILL do the quest and whatever happens will happen.

I do not believe that our choosing to do or not do the quest will affect our position or the gameplay at all. Except that those who don't do the quest will have misse dout on an experience.

Its on test at the moment, it will be released to open soon (if you mean the quest).

The events in Jeanne's screen shots happened on live yesterday.

In this case Zep is correct - there's no cause for concern to your RL account for doing the quest, its all about the story :) D isn't going to put out a storyline which actually hurts accounts (and their pocketbook) ;)

the new chapter is going to be introduced saying that because some pirates helped JR and his minions the new evil has been released to the Caribbean.

I don't think it will alter the course your pirate takes.

Not like the name is lost on us folks...

But honestly, I never was a HUGE fan of Captain Walter's.

Probably will have something to do with a Halloween event, maybe those who did the quest become undead for a period of time and those living pirates can attack and kill them.

Unfortunately, they didn't fix the bug for Bill Whats-his-name (Find two chests in Murky Hallow, which was not working) and took Ezekiel and his men out before we had the chance to do the quests :( And they had nice rep points to! :P

More than likely my 7 little pirates will pick up the quest. Kat, my biggest, will not. She's already a level 33. What rep she could get from it would be a drop in the bucket with her.

As for who I side with. I don't side with Jolly Roger, that's for sure. Nor do I stand with Captain Walter. He made my friends wait far too long with nothing but cryptic messages and deceit. I stand with my guild, the Dueces Wild. I stand with my friends, no matter their guild. I stand with those who stand on the side of what is right. I stand with those who owe their allegiance to Pirate Kind! Not to Captain Walter, the snake oil salesman who would have us all his little lackeys. Not with Jolly Roger who would have us undead. I stand for right, justice, and honor. I stand for the Pirate Code! Where you stand is up to you...

I stand on the quarterdeck. Unless I'm in port, and then I stand (wobble) at the Skellar.

I'll do the quest regardless of Captain Walter's warnings. I just look forward to doing a quest again... no matter how big or small it is!

What we must remember is NO ONE has been able to dig up the last 2 relics on test so we dont know the outcome of taking the quest to the finish. I think they only wanted us to test it so far and deliberately left out the finishing pieces so it will be even more of a surprise.
Won't be long now mates, Ezekiel himself said he'd be back to Port Royal "in a week, maybe less", then we shall all share the fate of the Casa de Muertos Guild!

Whats going to happen is going to happen regardless.

If there was a reason they made that quest broken, it was likely to test their code to clear up the journal when a quest expires.

I believe bones is stating a theroy, like everyone else does and has done here for the last year hehe ;)

And it is a good one - maybe if they were all done the second quest would start? Though it probably was a bug and used to remove code - if it was attached to the start of the quest then it is a way to prevent it from happening... in either case (quest removal or preventing the quest starting) - both are legit reasons :D

I really hope they fix the part where you have to find two treasure chests near Gators in Murky Hallow when(And if) it goes live.

I believe that the developers at disney would not have put so much hard work, time and money into a quest that no one is meant to do. I know that when the time comes for open server pirates to make a choice, that i may just see how much my services may net me from these brigands. and as any good pirate knows, there be plenty of ways to turn a bad situation into a good one if you be willing to look.

Whatever mateys, Im on the side of that rotten being - for the easy money and to make sure that the islands are invaded. Though i might fight off the invasion i shall definitely show me allegiance to the East India Company and the army of Jolly Roger, and if i do get the opportunity, I shall join the invasion. You see, the EITC and whomsoever they are siding with are in the end going to win the war and the only way to survive is to sadly break off from being... a free pirate... ever

E-zeke-You'll Rot. That's what his name plays out for me. Still, nothing will happen to those who don't do the quest, as, regardless of whatever Disney does, they'll have to bring it out on all players. I think they may do the Muertos moon again, but say that this time some of the other players have caused it. Who knows?

I'm all in for "every man for himself", but betraying? That's going off the deep end.

I love a good story, I do like to follow along with the storyline/lore.

I can enjoy folks following along with it in good spirit, and taking it for what it is.

What tends to bother me, is that some do not realize that not all members take things for the spirit in which they are intended, and will take a statement claiming there could be terrible consequences for doing these quests to heart.

Storyline wise: Rott is untrustworthy, he and his crew are definately up to no good and are likely to be the catalyst of the new/upcoming content story line as it continues.

Game wise: Without providing us pirates with any advance knowledge of the reprecussions of making the decision wether to do these quests or not, they cannot penalize any of the players for having performed these quests. Now some will say weve gotten some notice, but this is through private channels, special events/gatherings, that although perhaps available to public, were not announced publicly (ie on POTCOs website) to give everyone a chance to follow through. Even these GM visits of Capt. Walter, Rott, Etc in the live game are not being advertised on the site to be enjoyed (or taken into consideration) by everyone.

Have fun with it everyone, that is the main purpose for it all!!!

Added: And they still may announce more info on this on their main site. Full of surprises they are. Just wish they are all pleasant ones. ;)

Rott, you shouldn't have agreed to help Roger ( coughdreadragecough ). He's a bad, bad person, and he'd probably kill you again when you successfully remove the Voodoo Relics.

I too attempted this quest on test, and was frustrated like all other pirates when I was not able to complete it. I also felt that it would not be a good idea to do the quest when it came to live because of the possible out-come. But after reading the posts here, I agree, bring it on. My main pirate has 65K but he will still do it. Along with my other 5 pirates.

I will have to see if I can find where I saw it, but someone said that this here Rott was killed in the battle with Jolley Roger and that now he may be aligned with Davy Jones! Still with all the rumors about Jolly Roger and Beckett wanting old voodoo artifacts put out by Disney this seems more to the truth of the matter.

Also Halloween is coming as Jack said ealier and this would a perfect time to open the new High level quests or some other bad business by Jolly and Beckett. Hopefully it will be an interesting few months. P)

I will probably split me pirates on the quests. Just to see what may befall each.

Started the quest again this morning on test. And wouldn't you know it, picked up right where I left off. Didn't have time to see if they fixed it. Sure hope they did.
