The New Quest on Test

Well... as a note - Disney must be planning to have all this live on Open by Sept 4th, as the pop up says the quest will be available from Sept 4th to Sept 27th. Unless its JUST the quest, and not the other content.

Will update as it progresses. The quest is picked up on the beaches of PR from a Captain Ezekiel Rott - he mentions money, so who knows what the final reward is.
But, wanted to let everyone know about the quest dates listed in the popup at least - I will post, along with others Im sure - about the quest content as it comes!

Quest is called 'The Casa Meurtos Guild'

Update - there are FIVE total NPC characters on the beach. The Guild leader, and what I assume are 4 members. (In a line, somewhat) =)

I know, I know... first post is minimal info, but its some hey? Im a level 17 on test, so be patient! LOL Just a baby pirate! =D

Quest summary basically says 'If you work with them, expect large gold rewards, but also, watch your back.'

Sven Osymthe 08-21-2009 02:01 PM

I didn't pay attention to the message, but if so, I believe they'll have all the updates out by then. These quests, some of them are exploring the new caves, so they would be needed.

The quest starts with the Captain Ezekiel, then it divides into three individual ones. Its probably just money and gold, but its better than nothing :)

Jack Sunskull 08-21-2009 02:15 PM

The House of Dead Guild interesting, I some how see this guild becoming a role playing guild even they are NPC's right now.

Maybe with this quest you received gold and it increases your gold Cap.

ex8404 08-21-2009 02:29 PM

Can I be a stick in the mud for a second?

I asked a colleague of mine, a Spanish Teacher, what Casa Muertos really means.

If it is one word, casamuertos, it’s not a real word, but it would mean someone who marries dead people. "House of the Dead" would be Casa De (los) Muertos. Casa Muerta would be "Dead House"

Now... Caza Muertos (with a "Z") would mean "he hunts dead people." Cazamuertos (a great pirate or Guild name BTW) would mean "dead people hunter."

Anyway, a game is a game and as games go, POTCO is a lot of fun. I just thought that the actual translations would be fun to know. And each variation is as interesting as the last. Personally, I like the idea of being a Dead People Hunter.

Either way, I can't wait to get home and start exploring again. THANKS Disney Devs! :buds:

The Commodore 08-21-2009 02:33 PM

Has anyone found the barrel for the quest yet?

Jack Sunskull 08-21-2009 02:35 PM

Alright who brought the know it all.

Sven Osymthe 08-21-2009 02:39 PM

yes, its to the right of the stairs if thats the one you are referring to.

Sarah 08-21-2009 02:40 PM

I got the barrel up by the Gov Mansion just now.

The Quest is interesting. Five gents standing by the shipwright, each with a quest for you, based on level. I can get them all but one, and I'm assuming you need to be lev 20 for his.

Super easy so far, much like the valentines and FD quests. I have some pics, will edit when I get them up.

EDIT:

First Gent Finished
http://i252.photobucket.com/albums/h...nShot044-1.jpg

Finish with the first, and if your leveled enough, you get the rest. I'm guessing the last one is for lev 20+ pirates, can't get that one yet.

James 08-21-2009 03:04 PM

If anyone wants to crew up and explore test together, I'm on Amberassa at the Casa Muertos Guild, James lvl 13.

The Commodore 08-21-2009 03:44 PM

Ok, i'm stupid. I can't find the barrel for the first part of the first guy.

Sarah 08-21-2009 03:46 PM

Go up to the Gov Mansion, looking at the front door, it's to the right behind a cadet.

Thanks. Guess coffee doesn't work as well as it should... :mybadki6:

Basil Dreadflint 08-21-2009 06:08 PM

I'll tell you what the "Casa Muertos " means. It mean that Disney is playing dirty! The Casa Muertos guild is working directly for Jolly Roger! There are 2 hints to this effect during the first part of the quest.

1) They are in the direct employ of a ..... Merchant.
2) The slip of the tongue when you turn the first part in. "This means more poor souls for,,, er, nevermind that now."
I meant to grab screenshots, but got caught up in it and missed.
Disney is going to set us pirates up that the next bad thing that happens, Jolly Roger, is our own fault! Due to our own greed, we release the demon who then comes back to get us!

I smell a rat,,,er mouse!!

Sven Osymthe 08-21-2009 06:13 PM

Has anyone else found the digging spot in Murky Hollow for the quest? It says that the spot is near a couple of gators.. and no gators are in Murky Hollow. The spots shown in Losts map don't work either (plus a 6th one that wasn't marked).

Sarah 08-21-2009 06:13 PM

And I Like It! IF the story goes that way I think it would be pretty clever on D's part. ;)

And SOS, Can't find it at all. Going to send in a report, think that may be a bug.

The Skirata Clan 08-21-2009 06:13 PM

Is this the new quest set up? If so I like it.

Basil Dreadflint 08-21-2009 06:23 PM

OBTW. We pretty much proved that the new quest is slightly level dependent. Anyone, any level, can get the very first part. Search a barrel and defeat 12 cadets. Then turn that in and the next part is 5 Navy soldiers, any level, inside Fort Charles, and then search a shelf. Turn that in and you are done with the very first section.

Now you have the 4 Casa Muertos crewmates who each have additional tasks.

Starting at the right, and moving to the left, they go from easiest to hardest. The last one, the one furthest to the left, you have ot be level 20 or higher to get. Sarah was level 19 and couldn't get it, Lars was 20 and did get it assigned.

Each task is prgressiveely harder, requires higher level enemies, so it only makes sense that they are level dependent.

Also: I already sent in teh bug report about the fact that, After you accept a piece of the quest, you can't exit out from the quest giver unless you hit escape. Everyone should report that until it gets fixed.

pie_rat 08-21-2009 06:28 PM

anyone find out where the chest in thicket is?
MATT

Sven Osymthe 08-21-2009 06:31 PM

Yes, i'll try to find it again to screen shot it, if someone else doesn't already.

Am I the only one for whom the Murky Hollow dig spots aren't working? I've dug at every dig spot I can find and gotten "Nothing interesting" on all of them. I read other people discussing it in-game.

I agree with Basil 100%! My additional input is that each of the Casa Muertes Guild members has an identical skull tattoo below their left (on our right) collar bone. It's a conspiracy! We're being set up to work for Jolly Roger.

Meh...that's okay. It's something new to do and I love it. :piratetongueor4:

Yes between ingame discussion, and all those ive been playing with etc, that appears to be bugged. I submitted it via feedback for now.

Sven Osymthe 08-21-2009 11:20 PM

Yes, its a bug. I asked earlier, same reply. There are 0 gators in Murky Hollow, the quest says the chest is by one, meaning you can't get it. As Zep said, submit it via feedback.

ukebec 08-22-2009 12:30 AM

Excellent - I already did submit, suspecting it was a bug. Good to have it confirmed though. Thank you both!

Just thought I'd add onto your clues with a few puns and such I noticed.

First off, let's think back to last year for a moment, shall we?

Curse of the Muertos Moon - Jolly Roger cursed us by messing with some stone and the moon.

Casa Muertos Guild - Let's just list all the odd happenings here. First we're only attacking the living. We don't seem to be touching the undead whatsoever, which is quite odd for a bunch of pirates. As Basil mentioned, they're working for a "mysterious patron", who wants them to dig up the voodoo relics protecting the islands. There is also the slip of the tongue, and just by pun the last time you talk to him he says "Jolly good show." I know the last one is a bit of a stretch, but it's disney.

Aside from that, there are a few other strange going ons, especially with the chat of Bill Barrat. Aside from that a few of them are just creepy, either by look or name. It may not have anything to do with another story Arc, but I think we have an interesting Halloween, and fall, ahead of us.

Jason Swordfish 08-22-2009 02:02 AM

Good points so far! Also, as was mentioned earlier, most of the quest givers have some form of skull face tatoo. This should be interesting.

combatlizzy 08-22-2009 04:08 AM

Well I know some lingering Latin & the Casa Muertos means House of the Dead to this pirate...I'm with Basil...Don't think I want any part of this...Muhahaha! I have enough trouble staying alive on test...lolz

Cannonfury 08-22-2009 04:25 AM

Muertos?? or more like the Murderous moon? 0_o

swashbuckler II 08-22-2009 05:51 AM

on a side note, Casa Muertos means
Dead house,
Or House of death

The Skirata Clan 08-22-2009 06:46 AM

What is the requirements as in levels of Notoriety to do the quests? I read 20 is the highest (correct me if I'm wrong). Aren't these kinda low? At least raise it to 30. And keep in mind that Disney Spanish isn't always accurate. The first word might mean "house", "to marry", or "hunt" it all depends if the spelling is correct. The second word means "dead" plural. I wouldn't over analyze the translation meaning. I would pay more attention to the comments they make. It makes sense to keep them rather low if this quest is just for Halloween/Dia de los Muertos (Mex).

I disagree... this isnt a permanent quest. Its a temporary quest, which means, if it were limited to 30, alot of people would miss out.

Its not entirely working yet, so lets not get too excited. And the reward at this point is just notor points and money.

Dr. Zeppers 08-22-2009 07:51 AM

These quests seem to have a particular purpose in mind. Part of which will be to introduce the new caves.

I believe that introducing the caves, and putting the Casa Muertos Guild into the story line are the sole purposes of these quests which are not really that difficult. As it stands the game announces it will only be available from 9/4-9/27 or something like that. These are not 'permanent' quests.

It seems like a lot of pirates on test are having problems with finding the dig spots. I am too so it must be a glitch. I am hoping they fix it very soon. :piratetongueor4:

Me too. I also reported the barrel at the Gov's mansion since so many people have problems finding it.

Of course, in the old days ye had to run around searching ALL the barrels to fins the right one....

bartholomew bladeroberts 08-22-2009 02:18 PM

lets see an ideal update and quests that give such gold it appears that a new weapon is coming that costs money the sword thats in the on the horizon as it appears and the total gold and rep given is what is needed for a new weapon and the day the quest is over they release the weapon i think we will enjoy what disney is coming up with now

Aaron McEagle 08-22-2009 03:09 PM

Youve been reporting pirates for being um... slow?

No offense intended, just see pirates not finding the barrel are not finding it because of laziness (they arent looking.. they ask before they look).

Its in plain sight.
Cant fix peoples being so impatient they run past things with their eyes closed.

I dont understand how anyone can miss it!
Everytime im asked, and I point it out the pirate gives me a big DOH! How could I have missed that?! realizing how silly their mistake was from the start.

The problem is, it wasnt there before, and they arent looking for anything new in that area. Nothing can really be done about that.

I totally agree with ya Zep - I can't believe we've come to a point where finding a barrel is a Bug report! :)

Even I went "doh!" when I first went to find it... but its because we're so used to finding things in places. In fact - I found it refreshing that I DIDN'T know something and had to actually find it! :D

bartholomew bladeroberts 08-22-2009 06:11 PM

i also realized another pun the second crew member says quote (glad to see your alive well not dead) un quote it points that they are working on a jolly roger quest probably to introduce the new muerta sword they mentoned and in mexico halloween is named the day of the dead they are servants for jolly roger tough code to crack since most people don't speak disnees

Beorn 08-24-2009 01:35 PM

Out of Curiosity, since the Casa Muertos quest is not available anymore, and removed from my quest log, does anyone know if they fixed the Murky Hollow Dig spot? That was the only part I didn't do since it wasn't working. I am a bit nervous that Big-D is gonna release this stuff without it being tested. A non-working quest is a huge problem and I never heard if it was solved.

Sven Niscadae 08-24-2009 01:38 PM

As far I as saw last night before going to bed (1am EDT), it wasn't fixed yet. I know plenty of people including myself have submitting bug reports for it. They better not drop the ball.

Bartholomew Foulsteel 08-24-2009 03:24 PM

I tried it last night and no luck. Dig spots still glitched.

Sarah 08-24-2009 03:37 PM

I still have one section of the quest in my journal, finished it just now and for giggles went to see if I could turn it in. No such luck. Sent a report, will see if it's still in my journal later today.

http://i252.photobucket.com/albums/h...Shot003-11.jpg

combatlizzy 08-24-2009 04:06 PM

Maybe Jeremiah doesn't like to pay up, Sarah. lolz
idk...all these glitches & things...could it be Davy Jones is behind it all??? Muhahaha!

Dr. Zeppers 08-25-2009 12:58 AM

It does appear the drop option is available in your screenshot, I wonder if the quest could be dropped if unfinishable.

Nelly Darkpaine 08-25-2009 01:59 AM

Thats silly in a sense - why make a quest unfinishable. Even the Fathers Day one can be done later!?

Dr. Zeppers 08-25-2009 02:29 AM

Well in order to make it finishable, they'd have to leave the Casa Muertos Guild on the beach there. Kind of figured from their placement that it was temporary along with the quest. Thing is, all those other quests, did not require a final turning in of the quests, to the quest giver as this one does.

Added: I have noticed on both of my pirates that picked up the quests, particularly Bill Barrett's which remained on my journal as unfinished (couldnt find digspots that worked). That these journal entries disappeared on my Journal. Perhaps thats why the stuck a quest that couldnt be finished in to see if their code cleaned up after itself.

Nelly Darkpaine 08-25-2009 02:42 AM

That kind of is bad. Eh? Hmmm...

Sarah 08-25-2009 03:55 PM

I used the option to drop the quest, and it gave me the reward when I dropped it. SO, if you have one of the new quests still in your journal, finish it, then drop it, you should still get the loot and rep.

Luvbug 08-25-2009 04:42 PM

Has anyone else noticed the Spanish skel ship(s) lurking around PR?

Skip ;)

Makes a lot of sense...What doesn't make sense is not letting people know so that they don't send in a ton of reports on something that wasn't really even broken anyway. But I would rather they work on the new stuff than their people skills. :laughks2:

Do you suppose the quest will show up again when it goes live?
