Revive system and higher lvl enemies released to open

The enemies in tormenta are much higher(up to lvl 50). On outcast there are now twisted stumps and sometimes get lvl 39 or 40. There are now fly traps on outcast too. The revive system works well, its really cool. Also the ships now carry more cargo. There are higher lvl enemy ships too. Enemies on KH are higher too.
There is a boss gator in el suderon also, tonic count is the number of all your tonics not just each type. Going to explore some more.

I think there may be a glitch, a friend killed herself with nades and as i was revinging her "poof" it took her to jail.

I know on test they were working on reducing enemy agression, but seems to have been released on open set at ZERO. I can't get anything to attack me unless I strike first.

That's not right...

The groggy timer is going backwards, and somehow I have 20 roast beefs. Atleast I don't have to suffer from the small chat in basic windowed mode.

Sarah 07-30-2009 01:31 PM

You don't have 20 Hams, that's your TOTAL tonic inventory, including the hams.

Sven Osymthe 07-30-2009 01:36 PM

Nice screens Sarah. But not to worry.. some of them have aggression... that stump did not like Swash. He also attacked me while putting this together :psmiley35:

Oh... I see it now thanks.

Cannonfury 07-30-2009 01:48 PM

I love the revive system :D

Sven Osymthe 07-30-2009 01:52 PM

That was.. mean Sarah. Either DH likes you and dislikes me.. or you lied!

I simply stood next to him... then he attacked me..

I swear SOS, couldn't get a thing to hit me. Perhaps DH finished his coffee break by the time you reached him, or Sarah has magical beastie repelling powers. Will try again later ;)

At least his aggression level is low enough that he didn't Kick you while you were down! LOL

Sven Osymthe 07-30-2009 02:37 PM

LOL true... but he did just walk away like nothing happened..

joker78217821 07-30-2009 03:54 PM

A couple of days ago I was leveling on DH and about every third time I fought him I would shoot him once and he would walk up to me and do nothing. Good Rep.

BigJohn 07-31-2009 12:16 PM

Can I just ask the question, why would you walk up to an enemy and see if he would attack?? Personally if i am going to kingshead/caves in Padres or tormenta I am looking to kill something and get the first punch in so to speak.

They did that to test out the reduced (or in this case non-existent) enemy aggression. This major change, IMO, will make the game way too easy now. I sent in bug report. This isn't right at all.

On the revive thing... which is nice... I'm already seeing an abuse of it by baby pirates who feel like they can just charge after bigger enemies and have others foot the bill by dishing out tonic after tonic.

Had two of my guildies go into the Catacombs (both under Level 10) and keep begging for help. The officers kept telling them to go some place they could handle. Finally, after spending a lot of our gold to keep healing them - they were cut off to serve their jail time.

Basil Dreadflint 07-31-2009 02:12 PM

I agree completely. This is an abuse of your guildies when used improperly. Personally, I have often told newer players that they should NOT expect any help from the guild if they consistantly go after enemies who are more than 3 or 4 levels above them in Noto. Once in awhile it's ok, or even necessary, but to do it all the time and expect others to bail you out is asking to much from the guildies.

Besides, you can only get 100 rep ( plus crew bonus) from each enemy. Doesn't matter if they are 2 levels or 20 levels above you. Proved this by sinking a Behemoth with my light sloop. 189 broadsides, but still only 100 rep. Why bother, when you can get 100 rep from a Sentinel?

I was September of 2008 when they raised the aggression level to the level most of us are used to. I remember thinking that it made the game that much more difficult, that much more challenging. I thought I hated it but I grew used to it and, as I leveled up, appreciated it.

Now, as I walk through the Caribbean and almost nothing triggers a battle, it just feels a little empty.

And I also like the revive system but after dropping three heals on a level 2 crew mate who was playing on Isla Cangrejos (!?!) I just let her wake up in jail...The potential for abuse exists but a few gentle nudges and it will be a fine addition.

Dr. Zeppers 07-31-2009 06:17 PM

The aggression has definately been toned down, but not always consistent.
I noticed that once I defeat an enemy when it respawns its aggression towards me is considerably toned down if not non-existent. A couple battles later and its attacking me if I take a step. Seems some 'variable' has been implemented, and any one enemies 'aggression' seems to vary.

Eliza Creststeel 07-31-2009 06:21 PM

I will say though, having the recover for ship boarding - IS SWEET!

Had a crew seige a Spanish Blood Scourge and two of our boys went down... once the fighting was over, we tended to them. As soon as the potions hit them, we all swung back.

No more leaving mates behind!

Captain Seafarer CO. 08-01-2009 01:01 AM

I just posted a thread on the bugs section of what I think is bug linked to the revive feature.

BigJohn 08-04-2009 12:24 PM

Yeah Revive is nice! And man are those level 45 Seabeards tough!, nice rep though, lol...
