Pirates are being summoned....

First time I've seen them send out a message about these EITC. Took them a couple tries to get it right though lol. There were a couple attempts before this but the message was mixed in with %20% etc. Wonder what its all about.... A servers are PACKED

I think this is the 6th time they have sent the message. Either someone accidentally keeps hitting the "send' button or something Big is going on....

Lol thats it POTC never has anything big for us :D

Basil Dreadflint 06-26-2009 11:44 PM

Give them credit!

They are trying to make the game more of a role playing thing. I think they have failed to get any new development done, especially since they made some promises earlier this year, and they are trying to give us SOMETHING to keep us active and involved.
Putting a few of their own 'players' into the game and developing a continuing story line is a touch that you don't see in other games. A live interactive person has to be behind the EITC face. Name another game that does this!!!???

Personally, I would rather have the new story chapter, higher notoriety and weapons levels, the ability to customize my ships, even just a little, bigger storage and gold capacity, etc., etc.

The real problem with an event like this, or any other, is that it has to be done on selected servers only, and those servers pack up so bad that the lag is unbearable.

combatlizzy 06-26-2009 11:47 PM

Thx pg09...idk but if ya look at the trail...Beware EITC dressed as pirates...The Marceline Guild crewing pirates to go after EITC...More Eitc ships around PDF (at least there were)...Maybe Big D does have a plan...I know I know...I'm a believer...lol

The Skirata Clan 06-26-2009 11:47 PM

that is true they are putting an effort. but to quote Master Yoda " Do or do not, there is try"

Juliana Maria 06-26-2009 11:51 PM

Looks like it was just another Role-Playing event. At first I thought it was going to be something big with all the messages they were sending lol. But Basil is right, they are trying to at least keep us occupied and I give Big D credit for that. And I agree with Lizzy as well, something tells me this is all leading up to something. Who knows?? Something else could happen tonight for all we know!! :D

I've seen a GM on one of the A servers on Port Royal asking for protection and to see the Deckworker.

Crazypirate 06-26-2009 11:56 PM

I got the message on my select a pirate dock intro!

I just got told that Black Guard is trying to arrest GM Hosts...Haven't been on site, yet to confirm it...

Crazypirate 06-27-2009 01:02 AM

I have been up and down the A servers and all I ve seen is alot of disappointed pirates waiting for nothin!

Juliana Maria 06-27-2009 01:03 AM

I believe it has either ended, or they are switching servers often... It's been awhile since I'd seen them. Event may be over.

Rapidy 06-27-2009 01:28 AM

At first I thought a guild was about to be suspended. lol

swashbuckler II 06-27-2009 04:27 AM

Disney is just leading up (hopefully) to a big event

What one can dream right?

Rapidy 06-27-2009 04:45 AM

It would've been neat if we all got a quest to help the GMs be protected by the EITC. Then track the GMs and the EITC.

The Skirata Clan 06-27-2009 06:10 AM

I would have sold out The Marceline Guild, if that would benefit me... I'm a pirate after all.

Eliza Creststeel 06-27-2009 06:23 AM

Amen, Darman

Commodore Larence 06-27-2009 08:43 AM

At first I noticed this topic and thought I had missed some big goings-on in the game today while I was out of town... I see I missed nothing lol.... If I knew where the Marceline Guild was, and who to tell I'd turn them in. This role play aspect is the worst attempt at trying to make the game interesting, we role play while we play the game (complete quests)... If it is up to me to come up with story lines, I would like to be put on the game developer's pay-roll list :laughks2:

:SkullBullet1:
Larence Tuppington

Using my imagination and waiting on my check from Disney...

If you ask me, they should have less fun and actually be working for a pay. I'm rather sure that Captain Walter is just a man who sits around and does nothing but mess around.

:pirate_flag: Fantastic summation Basil !! :buds:
I wholeheartedly agree with you and personally appreciate your constructive influence.

I agree we need some content rolled out, for sure, but I also see many things we have in Disney that no others come close to offering,.. we have several theme parks and a attraction named after the game we so love. I can tell you, as it was openly stated at the E3 Expo Disney booth by Disney staff, that Disney Pirates is around for the long haul and developers are diligently working on advancing the game and content.
Disney does not have a 400 person staff that Blizzard entertainment of the World of Warcraft has devoted to the one game of Pirates Online.
Blizzard / WoW is all and what they are,.. just the game. Disney is not just Pirates Online, as we all know, far from that, but a part of Disney..... a community of Disney, a MMO that is more than just playing, it appears they are building up a community of Pirates Online, more than just a game of offered content and distance, but trying to reach out and interact along side of us in the Caribbean world, like Basil said, name a large and known MMO that does that… it is just like Disney! (clap-clap-clap)
The interaction offered is just like what Walt Disney himself would have done, just like the way he would have run the game, and this is what makes Disney Pirates so unique and enjoyable for myself and my whole family.
I see some disgruntled Pirate who, as it seems, view this game like other MMO’s and do comparisons with other MMO’s, but I respectfully believe this view is a incorrect perspective in that our game is very different in how it is designed and structured, or even as it is continually being structured.
They stated in the blog previously, they are trying to incorporate players desires into the game as much as possible coupled with the delicate balance of continuing the chart of flow to the proper direction and goal, all of course working on staying within Disney’s code of conduct. This must a difficult and consuming task I would imagine.
Truthfully, in regards to Pirates, I have not seen anyone not jump in with excitement when addressed by a GM, called by name and requested their presence in the GM Crew when asked. It is a thrill for us all. I am with Lizzy, I too am a firm believer and supporter.

Last,…
Raikel,
Your comments toward the Pirates Staff and how they should not have any fun and “work” for their pay, as if they do not, is certainly your opinion, I for one believe they put in more hours than you can imagine and even weekends and evenings to accommodate the continuing of content and in game appearances. I for one, who is a paying member of several accounts, is pleased to see them enjoy the game and their jobs.
Your comment on Captain Walter is attacking him as a person behind the avatar and his work ethics.
Saying he is “just a man who sits around and does nothing but mess around” is a very careless and uncalled for statement.
