Guildhall? Among other possible updates ***SPOILERS****

3 Attachment(s)
Well, I was looking in the phase files, and I found a guild hall, int and ext. The ext is the towers that are on Avaricia and Porc. The interior, has a stage and space for tables or something. I'll add the pic once I get a screenie.

P.S. If y'all want me to look for other stuff, just post it here and i'll see if I can find.

Zeke

Cannonfury 06-26-2009 11:14 PM

what are phase files??

Juliana Maria 06-26-2009 11:17 PM

Very cool TC, thank you for sharing!! I like the stage lol, good for karaoke night :D

Jack I 06-26-2009 11:19 PM

The phase files are where all the textures, audio, models, etc. are stored for the game. We can unload them because Disney made the program they use, Panda3D, available to the public. As I understand it, the original Panda3D was designed for use with Toontown Online and then released to the public where it's now used for a variety of things.

On the subject of guildhalls, it's an excellent feature that I would love to see implemented into the game. With all the guilds I've ran I always prefer to have ingame meetings, and this will help do that.

The Commodore 06-26-2009 11:26 PM

Something else I just found, was a VIP hall that could be added to taverns. Looks cool, but i'm heading out the door. I'll add it later.

P.S. If you wanna learn about the kraken, can't help ya much. Ironically, those are a few of the pics I cannot see, even when I move them around.

Chris 06-26-2009 11:34 PM

Im dont want to see phase files I want to see it in the game!!!

But those are cool thing im worried about is any real guilds left to use the guild halls. The way guilds are goign under now.

The Commodore 06-26-2009 11:40 PM

Well Chris, and not to go OT, but the rogues are still growing daily.

IMHO, I think the guild halls won't just be for the guild, but for friends and stuff. What I want to know, is how they'd be used. In puzzle pirates, multiple houses were in one spot. Will pirates do the same.

Liz Fireburn 06-26-2009 11:41 PM

Awesome:)! If only they would hurry up and put this stuff in game...

Crazypirate 06-26-2009 11:43 PM

On the founders association site there are pics of someone fighting the Kraken from the E3 show in 2006 you should check it out!

The Skirata Clan 06-26-2009 11:45 PM

If this are meant for guild which guilds get a hall? top guild or all guilds? maybe they are pirate hideout like TT.

Erich Uchiha 06-27-2009 12:25 AM

Aye Chris, many guilds are still growing The Rouges, BBK, HSP, Dueces Wild, And PIC's Legacy Partners N Crime. Sadly thats all I can think of xD

The Skirata Clan 06-27-2009 01:38 AM

and those are just 6 of the bigger ones here... lets not forget the smaller ones or the decaying ones. Or those that were created during unlimited weekend. I would rather have a pirate hideout than a guild hall.

This should be a great addition to the game. If it comes soon enough perhaps we might even see the guild "sail off". I think it'd be fun to have meetings in the game. (As I've never had any before)

Bartholomew Foulsteel 06-27-2009 03:06 AM

Me? I'd like to make my guild hall a bit nicer. Those look kind of...haphazzard.

The Commodore 06-27-2009 03:47 AM

Aye bart, but when yer a pirate, ye take what ya can.

BTW, I spun the pic the other way, and the front fits into the building it'd go in perfectly.

Machazzard 06-27-2009 05:13 AM

Can anyone tell me how to get into the phase files and PM me the link for the founders association web site?? thanks in advance

Eliza Creststeel 06-27-2009 06:25 AM

Cool! We used to hold our meetings out back of the old Kings Arm - the secret backyard.. lol

Chris 06-27-2009 02:03 PM

After thinking for a while I noticed those rooms are empty! So does this mean that with the release of guild halls that a craftsman store would have to come out as well so people can buy items to put in their guild hall. Such as a poker table or BlackJack table?

MacIronhawk 06-27-2009 07:44 PM

That's a good idea Chris.

If these "guild halls" do come out, we'll probably be introduced to building items. I'd like to be able to buy a long table that can be sat on by guild members. Maybe we'll even be able to start meetings and decide who comes and who stays.

Hopefully they'll be organized with something like this.

The Commodore 06-27-2009 08:15 PM

I'd like to see that as well mac. For my next trick, as soon as i take some pics of it, is the VIP room in a tavern. It's kinda weird, but it looks neat.

Wrong Trousers.
est 14 Dec 2007.

And who were these other guilds mentioned...?
:-)

Wrong Trouser, I though that was the bargain bin at the factory outlet :laughks2:

I guess nobody of importance.

The Skirata Clan 06-28-2009 06:12 AM

My point was that regardless of importance or members or date of creation, who is going to get a guild hall. To ME all guilds small or huge are important because they are of importance to their owners.

Now back to the thread... I can't wait to see those images Zeke.

For your viewing pleasure, the VIP room of a tavern.

Be warned, there's gonna be a few screenies. i'm giving u both the room itself, and the tavern, how it'd be connected.
The first pic, is just the tavern with the door leading to it. As you can see, this room will, or would have been in that weird, unused door.

The second pic, is a sideways view. As you can see, it's fairly big.

The third pic, isa rear downward view. You can see the size, and the location fairly

Pictures 4 and 5 are just views of the VIP room by itself. 4 is a head on view, and 5 is a view of the ceiling.

The VIP room may have something to do with the party hat textures I found in the files.

I can't view any models right now. It's because pirates is using a panda3d version that isn't out yet. Once they release the new version, the current phase files can be viewed. If you copied the files from a month(or two, I think.) then you should be able to view them.

Here's a picture of the party hats. The color of the roof in the VIP room looks like it could be a "party" room. Just a guess.

Commodore Larence 06-28-2009 09:25 PM

Party hats lol.... I am just shocked at that, I understand the VIP hall... but party hats...really? That has me wondering what they could be used for....

I have not tried to explore any of the phase files, but how long have those been in there? I kinda had a thought those could have possibly been part of the 1 year POTCO anniversary and just were never used.... I could be wrong though, I usually am lol...

Thanks for sharing, its a cool find.

MacIronhawk 06-29-2009 12:10 AM

I guess you could say the phase files hold the "make up" of the game. There's models, textures, animations for models, and audio in the phase files. You'll find all the interesting things in the test phase files, though.

I hope they do something good with the party hats, though. Toontown has parties and if POTCO does... we'll, there better be rum involved!

Dr. Zeppers 06-29-2009 12:21 AM

Love the idea of guild halls, additional buildings, etc.

However when it comes down to it, whats in the phase files and determining its application is alot of conjecture. Noone knows what the specific use is, or even if it will be used. Weve seen things in there before that never surfaced in the game.

Then this thing about "VIP" "Guild Halls" whos going to get one, etc. This is all an the EXTREME side of conjecture, we have absolutely no idea. For all we know they would be available to everyone. And there is not any one guild more important than another. I dont care what guild your in, your guild is NOT more important than any other guild. Doesnt matter when it was created, how many members it has, how active it is, where they stand on any stupid leaderboards. Pirates are pirates... plain and simple.

If anything it will hopefully come down to what you can 'afford' (ie in game economy, not more real money).

The Commodore 06-29-2009 12:33 AM

I agree Zep. If they will be used in the way I think they will be, it'll be for those who can afford. I think they could use this, and the vip room on shipwreck island.

To hijack my own thread, here is how I see it.

Shipwreck Island. TP Quest when you hit level 5. Simple go see Jack and you get it. It is an island for pirates, no.
On the island. Usual items for a major island, taverns, shops, shipwright.
But, option for guild areas. Would be a small area with shops and stuff, but there would be a guild tavern with the VIP room. It would be at the gm, or high officer's discretion on how it would be used at that point, party room, meeting hall, or off limits in general.
Then, across the way, a hall stands, similar to the one on porc and avaricia (the giant tower they are drunk on). Inside, there is a guild hall. This, must be opened by an officer, as it is a hall, and can only be used for certain events.

Total Cost: 65K, but the gm has to buy it. Figure, since most of us with a big guild have a ton of gold laying around.

James 06-29-2009 02:42 AM

Commodore, I don't think it is necessary to bankrupt the GM. That price would only be practical if the gold limit was increased. How about 50k?

The Commodore 06-29-2009 02:48 AM

James, a war frigate costs 60K. This is a pretty big thing. I think it should cost more, cause this place is something that would be pretty cool.

They would hopefully raise the limit and/or offer a means of guild members contributing to a guild bank so to speak.

Sarah 06-29-2009 03:11 AM

IF that's what D is heading towards, sounds cool to me. What else do we have to spend the gold on?

The Skirata Clan 06-29-2009 03:39 AM

maybe we can store our extra cash there too.

Eliza Creststeel 06-29-2009 01:02 PM

If they did truly make a guild house, where the structure would be specific for each guild - then I could see customization and even a place to have a roster or Hall of Fame would be excellent additions. Those elements are already there (via XD) and like the XD snapshot of your pirate - the VIP's could have their picture on the wall.

Would go a looooong way to help group cohesion and socializing, which is one of POTCO's strong suits.

The Commodore 06-29-2009 01:06 PM

Good ideas Eliza. This is something I'd like to see added. So, anything else y'all would like to see, or anything people have they'd like to post?

Captain Sammie Megatoon 07-01-2009 08:44 AM

What program do you use to see the phase files?

The Commodore 07-01-2009 12:06 PM

It's a program known as Panda 3D. I can send you the full instructions on how to get into them if you would like.

Jamesvsthekraken 07-08-2009 09:15 PM

this is cool. I wish they would hurry up and update already though

Well I'm buying me a Customized Royal Frigate, with 16 Outfits, and the latest Level 8 Weapons...

Oh wait - thats just my dream hehe :D

The Commodore 07-09-2009 12:23 AM

Stop making me drool max.
Agreed sarah, if yer a gm, or top officer, more often, yer close to mastery of the game. More often then not, the only time I use my gold is to repair my ships. I'd pay to get a guildhall.

Chris 07-09-2009 03:23 AM

Yea or even better I want my own Island >:D where I can set sail my custom built War Frigate!

Well, its not a "feature" to use in the game :) As Jack explains - you go get Panda3D then use that program to look at the files just to see what pics are in them (as updates are applied to the game - sometimes they add / change graphics).

musicalklutz 07-10-2009 06:24 AM

If we get guildhalls, I swear I will stand my pirate up on the stage and do karaoke over vent.

Now let's get this going, D :) Looks like a blast!

Aye, I've downloaded it and can't figure it out! lol, anyone available to lesson me?

bartholomew bladeroberts 07-10-2009 08:22 PM

ok how did you find that the only way you can view those are if you actually have panda 3d which the new version isn't public yet correct me if i'm wrong and I was also wondering what is

john scurvy 07-11-2009 09:33 PM

Panda has been public for a while now. As for that, I have no clue

KeeperOfTheCode 10-05-2009 12:27 AM

I've found several different things. Included, such things as seagulls, dogs, etc.

P.S. I found Seaserpents and Seamonsters Seperate from the kraken's files.

Captain Del 10-08-2009 05:59 PM

Guild halls, huh? Very interesting. They would definately help a guild run a little smoother when it comes to meetings, but I'm just hoping they are focusing more on the Kraken, 2nd story chapter, etc., instead of small trivial things like guild halls. Either way, I still think it'd be a great addition :)
