Dueces Wild: Scavenger Hunt #3
 

It's time for the mania to begin again...

Time for the Third Dueces Wild Scavenger Hunt!

Participants: Dueces Wild Guild members only.

When: Wednesday, June 17th and June 24th. Approximately 7 pm Central.

Preparation:
Each team/crew must consist of 4 pirates. In each team, there must be at least one pirate level 20 or less, and one pirate at least level 34 or higher. The other 2 pirates can be any level. Each team should have at least one member who was not a DW member when we had the last Scavenger hunt.

Teams must be formed and registered here. Post team member names, prior to the posting of the Scavenger list.

Chat:
Each team should use crew chat for all in team discussions, and use guild chat to chide, mislead, and generally harangue other teams.

Of course, there is also the chaos of the Vent server.

I will be unable to talk with you on Vent.. so don't ask me any questions. All chat from me will be on Guild Chat.



The rules: (as borrowed and butchered from the previous hunt rules)

1) Absolutely NO using glitches to cheat (ie macros)! Anyone caught immediately gets their entire team disqualified! (Exception: I don't care if you pass through a wall to get somewhere.)
2) Absolutely no outside of guild help! (For new members.. that means no having friends out of the guild helping you search or giving you answers to questions)
If anyone is caught getting outside help, their entire team will be disqualified.
3) I have rearranged some of the hunt (actually decreased some of the screenshot requirements). Screenshots will be required as usual. Pay attention to the rules for each night. Some will require all 4 members of the team to be visible. Crew HUD/bonus always required. Some shots will need to be taken by each individual.. but not as many as I originally planned. Submit all screenshots by the deadline.
4) There will be portions of the hunt that just require written answers. Answers must be PM'd to me before the deadline. Any postings after then will not count as a completed task.
5) No swapping pirates during the course of the event. You must play with the pirate that is registered in your crew here in the thread.
6) I will post the team scores as soon as possible after the Scavenger Hunt. Cut me some slack as this is my first time organizing or tallying this stuff. I promise I'm going to be thorough and fair. Having stated the that, please remember that I am the scorekeeper. My decisions are final. Any debate and I'm taking away your rum. Any serious flack and I start deducting points.


Strategy:
1) Pay attention to screenshot requirements. Designate someone to be the primary photographer for group shots.
2) Some screenies will be individual screenshots. Post em on time.
5) I will be in-game to monitor for difficulties and disconnection.
6) You can change servers all you want, but Kelly will be on PDF on a quiet server when she logs in.
8) Again there is no official "End" time to each evening.
9) Allow time to post the results!!


Prizes
1) 5K in gold to each member of the winning team.
2) Bragging rights!
3) The ability to berate the losing teams.
4) Experiencing the camaraderie and support of your fellow OCD friends.
4) Satisfaction.. if this goes the way I hope.

If you would like to just post your name, I will keep a running list of who is intending to participate here on this posting. You can visit here and then meet with other guildies in game to form a team.

List your pirate name, and their current notoriety level and if you are new to the guild since the last scavenger hunt.

Rules and date may be modified slightly between now and the date of the Scavenger Hunt, so check back before the beginning of the contest.

Toby, spanky and gabby are lv40 and osprey should be pretty close. If need be, i suppose I could use my basic, Matthias Corvinus who is a lv16 but I'd rather not have to since he is just a basic. If anyone needs a big one, I'd prolly use gabby

Is there a time limit on this or is it a stay up until you get it all done type of deal? Cause there's a real chance that I may have to work those evenings. If that happens, I won't be able to log on until about 10:30pm EST.

Sven.. you and Grace can team up ... no problem. :) I figure it would be more of a problem if you were on different teams and one of your pc's started acting up. Either you would fight over the remaining pc or sabotage each other.

The game ends for your team when you are all exhausted and start saying enough already. With everyone in different time zones, I can't say when you should end.

Give yourself plenty of time to post the screenshots!!! That is the important part.

And biggest piece of advice....remember...

I want to remind everyone... that you don't need to have a team in mind before signing up to play.

Even if all the other teams have 4 players.. we will find a team for everyone to play on.

My littlest pirate (Dr. Zeppers) is a level 30... (might be 31 or 32 by then) would that work out? Not sure how it all works, but thought id try and participate, havent done much with the dueces lately.

Ok I guess I got to take matters in to my own hands. This was already supposed to be posted on here by someone. I might not be able to make the first day of the scav hunt. The charger to my laptop is wore out and i need a new one. The waranty covers it but I have to wait for it to be delivered in about 4-8 business days, the 4th day being wednesday :(.

So Booty's Gone Wild needs another member to go along with Thunder Kiss, Elizabeth O'Scarlet, and Lu Lu Shorecastle. The DW noob and and sub lv20 is takin care of so any level will do.

Hopefully UPS or FEDEX gets the lead out on this one and gets it here sooner than later.

Wait utnil the night of the hunt!!!!
Then you can't get everone together, They won't listen as you post any late changes, the people who don't check POF regularly will want in and you have to ask/assign them. I made a brand new team for one of the hunts just from all the latecomers, and we have never had a hunt where the teams were only the original 4 members, always adding 5th's and sometimes 6th's to each team.

Then, YOU, have to watch the chat logs to see if anyone is having disco problems, and make sure you keep track of the logouts and logins so you can 'adjust' any scoring.


Not to mention answering questions, clarifying instructions, adding late players, re-explaining the rules.

Why do you think I'm so happy that someone ELSE is running it this time? LOL.

Would it be possible to have a few glows before we start the hunt Thorin is 2 pts from 40 Richard is ready to hit 40 and Beth is close to glowing her last glows on all her weapons? I am all for avoiding premature masteration but 3 weeks is a long time to hold it!

If you make me hold it for three weeks I will definitely have some premature masteration.

How about a Tuesday night Glow fest?

It would be hard to take away any long period of time from the Scav Hunt.. The OCDness would kill some of the guildies. So, I suggest Tuesday this week and next to do our normal Glows, Mastering, and BB's.

I'm up for that if I can get Richard there in time. I think I might have to log on tonight for a while after all then.

I should be able to get on somewhere around 5pm. I had to adjust my sleep schedule due to the move. We are getting settled here for the most part and I can catch up on sleep some. I'll do my best to be there for ya guys! I'm back to unlimited and ready to rock! Even went out and sailed a bit last night, and I still own the big ships with my war sloop! :) BTW I need some fill in, what is OCD, BB and glow fest lol.

Hey Kelly, right now it doesn't look like I'll be able to make this first day of scav hunt. The tracking number shows the scheduled time delivery is for the 11th :(. Can I still be there for day 2?

I would also like to mention that if Jade doesn't show tonight I won't be able to use Richard, I think, maybe, I am going back and forth on just mastering without her. I don't know anymore. I don't think I can wait very long.

Regardless, I would feel more comfortable being placed on a team the night of than promising I can help and not make it there myself. Until you find another member, I will replace enrique, but if you find another member I am backing out. Sorry.
