Music to Plunder by!
I was sitting here at the office, listening to my mix on Pandora - which happens to include a broad variety of music. After listening to the Dropkick Murphys and Great Big Sea , I begin to itch to get home and put my frigate to sea.
So, the question mates - what tunes, if any, do you like to listen to while sailing the Caribbe? |
I personally turn the music off.... just my openion . i just like to hear the other sound effect .
|
It depends on my mood. But if I'm in a piratey one I'll play my "pirates" playlist which consists of all 3 Soundtracks from each of the movies. Then I'll try and find a song that fits with what I'm doing (I.e. I'll play "The Kraken" when I'm sailing) ;)
|
Long Road To Ruin- Foo Fighters, and Beach Melody- Toucan Pirates :D.
|
I have both the music and sound effects muted by default - sometimes I turn them on, but I usually just find something in iTunes or play in silence. :)
|
Flogging Molly has a lotta good songs. Salty Dog and Tobacco Island make good ones to listen to.
|
Game sounds off... playlist on. Usually its My Chemical Romance, but theres a few songs I find good for grinding weapons. (Battleflag by Lo Fidelity Allstars - go censored version if language bugs ya!)
|
Dropkick Murphys!? Tessie...
I don't listen to music while playing as things are slow enough as it is. |
Well, I listen to a variety of music. I never listen to the game's music anymore, lol.
But what I listen to while playing usually depends on what kind of mood I'm in, lol. |
I usually have the tv going, so I tend to listen to that.
|
DMD,
It's funny you mention that. The other night Turner Classic Movies played Captain Blood, starring Errol Flynn. You watch that movie and just see TONS of things that the movie folks used or built on. Port Royal and Tortuga featured heavy in the film, etc. But seeing the ship battles and sword fights was cool background noise. |
i am usually serenaded by the song of screaming children.
|
Yep, pirate movies make me wanna scratch my PoTC itch. I notice gameplay gets heavy when history channel plays there shows on pirates.
|
Well if i choose to listen to music at all.. my ipod plays random from over 5000 songs...
Music from almost all disciplines. Even has an album of bagpipe music on there ;) (btw.. definately not my favorite.. but its there) |
Reminds me of a fun discussion I always have with MP3 owning friends...
What songs are ON your MP3 player, that you hate to admit are on there?? LOL |

My 80gig HD is about 3/4 filled with music ranging from classical to classic rock and country to contemporary, as well as rap. I usually go into my music folder, hit select all, and then let in play in random order.

There, I said it out loud. |
A great song for when ye be takin on the Navy an the EITC, Remember the Name, by Fort Minor. Personally I listen to the clean cut with all the cursin removed. I may be a pirate, but that don mean I like me music full o cursin!
|
Lizzy listens to her playlist...Usually turns sound off on POTCO...sometimes I just play in silence...Gives me time to think or not think...lol
|
i hate the music on pirates....... i turn it off LOL and get my ipod!
|
Most of the time I just listen to the game music.
But, lately, I've been listening to Metro Station. Well, actually, I usually listen to whatever song I'm really into. Or the radio. ps- Mel/James, I'm listening to that right now. xD You mentioned it, and I had to go put it on. lol. |
In all actuality I prefer NOT listening to anything while playing.
The sound effects in the game are useful queues when playing, and I dont like my music mixed with these things which they are when listening to music on my computer (where most my music is.. in itunes). Its hard to immerse oneself into a game and enjoy it with non-related music in me piratey head. |
i always turn off the sound....lol....i always listen to guns n roses and red hot chili peppers wen plundering
|
OK... songs to plunder by.... First choice has to be It's a Pirates Life by The Vandals. Second choice is Captain Hampton and The Midget Pirates by The Aquabats. And third must be The Seven Deadly Sins by Flogging Molly.
There it is my top 3. |
