Ok, Im affically fed up with no new content, the patheic black guard visit was the last straw. Until POTCO gets it act together im not paying good money so i can sit in boredom on a online game.

I will remain on POF forums and i might return to POTCO when they give us what we have been paying for.

Fair well for now Count.

Your blog dated 4/30 (10 days ago) says you are getting closer to level 30... so I'd venture to guess that you haven't quite finished with the CURRENT content? No need to quit yet mate, at least not for lack of content. :) All the same... farewell.

The right people arent getting the message here.

IMO which counts for absolutely nothing, a simple re-wording of the forum description might do the trick. The current description is pretty vague.

Not sure I get your point here, the forums welcome/goodbye forum is for forum welcomes/goodbyes.

Those that are here in the forum, continue to read a persons posts if they havent left the forums, so its not goodbye to us here in the forums, its a good bye to those playing the game. So theres not really any real point to posting just a goodbye to the game here, as those that read the forums.. are not actually being said "goodbye too", however, thats fine.

I was merely suggesting that posting it on POTCO's Grog Blog helps to make a point of the person leaving the game, getting the message to those that it could impact, like POTCO management.. and perhaps get them to moving on new content, etc (whatever the person leaving the games reasons are).

I agree with you Zep. How many players quit because of that reason. To my memory at 10 players here that were very active. It seems that at least 2 or 3 per month quit or stop playing for awhile post here. There has been more departures than arrivals. At least in those that we can count due to the posts here. Out of those departures that we have on record 95% are because of lack of content. We should post those at the Grog Blog too. Because we are not counting the departures of all those that are not members here.

My point is that the "description" of the arrivals/departures forum does not specify that it is only for POF hellos/goodbyes.

So, what I thought you were getting at was the fact that people were misusing the forum. But what you were ACTUALLY getting at was the fact that it's pointless to post POTCO goodbyes here, and if posted elsewhere they could have more of an impact.

We just weren't on the same page I guess.

your not going anywhere . if you continue to read the forrum means you still want to play ....and besides if you only have 1 pirate not even level 40 then your heart is not really in the game ....I have 7 pirates ..6 of them mastred and 1 not.......so untill you reach higher standards i would not trash this wonderfulll game that so many of us loves ...if you dont want to play then just quit and bail out like the rest , and dont even read the forum ....Why read it if you dont even want to invest the time to get to 40 before you start trashing the game ..

I agree with ya Scruffy. I only have one mastered pirate, with stuff to still do on him. While it's sad to see any pirate go, stay the course for a bit longer.

I had the same feeling too of leaving, but then I created a second pirate and realized some of funs things I missed and hated about questing. Plus I hit level 40 on my old pirate before all the changes were made, so since the new changes it made things quite entertaing and sort of fun to do again. Plus for only $9.95 a month it isnt that bad.

You must of not known but that acount was deleted because if POTCO finds a error they make you start over again

This I heavily disagree. My main pirate is at 37. Done all quests, mastered sailing, and that is as far as I will go with him. There is not more challenge than to fight for the sake of fighting. I have other pirates one at 33 close to finishing the Pearl. And it does get boring at times. Getting 40 means nothing when the only quest of the game is done. I like the game, and I will continue playing. I do think that stating your opinion is not trashing. I do spend more time here at POF than at POTCO. Here is where some of us get their hopes up when we see a new thread that reads TEST UPDATES. What The Count is implying is that he might return to POTCO someday. Many POF members are like that. I do think that if someone is not happy with the way things are going they should speak up their minds. Sometimes a good revolt may bring some good.

Well said TSC. I recall a post that once spoke of a pirate who didn't work toward the ultimate goal of lvl 40, but instead, just played the game. But if one gets bored with just playing well then they really can't help that.. And you don't necessarily have to be lvl 40 to be bored. One can be bored with game.. But not necessarily with the people they encounter (I.e. Here on the forums) Therefore, I can understand wanting to stay on the forums both to keep updated and to keep up with them pirates ye've met along the way ;)

I guess i was misunderstood....i agree with the forrum is here to vent....not to trash this wondefull game.....let me make myself clear.....

trsut me when i say this....Disney is not going to invest all this m*oney and let it die.....I knwo for a fact that there is alot commign out...Peopel are just impatient...This is supposed to be a kids game...but the adults have taken it over and Disney in the begining were not ready for this...I do speak with some personal experience in this.....

Now trust me they( Disney ) are on board and I know what's ahead and they are good things comming ...Now...with expressing ones openion i feel everyone is intitle to... YES....

But if your pirate is 37 and you say why get to 40 ..its borring...well i perosnally dont feel that your hart is in the game....Because in order to advance to 50 , 60 or 70 ...what ever Disney decided to do ..you will need to get to 40....so why not get to 40 now while its not that hard before things change even more.......why site back and trash the game ...

Now i did the same thing with other games , Meaning ..i am quieting and not comming back .....but i will remain on reading the boards.....to my prevouis guilds and and about the game its self.....( Which i will not mention ) .....its non sense ...Either you want to play and be a part of this wonderfull game or not....its simple...

This game has to many peopel in it right now that are being childish and are adults....and i
know some kids that play that are more grown-up then the adults that i know........so if i offended you ...sorry ...i was stating my openion as well and you should show more loyalty to a game that you like ..

Unfortunately I believe you are wrong, from over a year and a half of personal experience in the game. The game was designed for family, not kids. We have already seem them 'kiddie down' alot of the original games dialogue because of the volume of younger players they did not originally expect. Some of the funniest stuff in the game had adult theme to it, and has since been removed. Just look at the content that remains, poker, blackjack, rum, women standing on street corners... this was never intended as a kids game, they wanted it kid friendly, so the whole family would play, but it wasnt designed as a kids game. (I know some kids that are frightened by parts of the game as it stands)

If this was meant to be a kids game, they went about it all wrong, as if they were not experienced in making kids games, which I know is not the case.

Welcome to the club Count, I still read the forums but have not logged into the game in probably a month. I don't find any entertainment in constantly leveling more pirates, and doing the same thing over and over again. If there were more options (classes of characters) it would be more entertaining to have more than one pirate, because each character would have a different story line to follow.

I do not see this game as a kid's game, the movies certainly are not directed at kids. Most of the humour is very adult, and Jack Sparrow is a womanizing rum soaked scallywag, not exactly a do-gooding Power Ranger or a pointless Pokemon.

I will continue to wait on content with you Count, hopefully my ships are not dry-rotted by the time they get to hit the seas again.

Well i had a meeting with someone from Disney ...i will not mention who....and it was meet for it to to be a family like you say ....but kid oriented... not mainly adult.. Because disney is family . and mainly kids.....They are not in the adult things.... Thats where the sony version of the game is..... Now . I agree with you that they have turn around to a more of a young teen/ adult to try to keep them interested..... I perosnlly play wiht my teenage daughter and my wife and myself play all the time.. SO its a Family game like you have said and i agree .. But there to besaid a adult only game , i will not agree becuase if it would be adult only then there would be no restriction on chat dialog and no one would be getting band for launguage...

Even thought they have tone it down some on Dsney's part. refrence that . but they are still banding pirates for bad launguage , obsence , etc etc....

Disney was not ready to let this game out just yet when they did , they just wanted to get it out before Sony's verison of the game thats why it came out and now it looks like to alot of people that its kind of dead game......Its not a dead game its just that the programmers ar a little slow in getting things out... and i kind of take offense to some people when they critize a perfectly great game, and put it down for things they no nothing about . ..

Thats all . , but its ok... for those who are here we will enjoy the game and for those who have left.. then they will not...LoL.

I dont really see the point of making a new pirate its basically starting the game over with a diffrent face

heres what ive been doing.....PVP YOUR HEART OUT and indulge in the drama in abassa.....But now that i have a test account i had to start over and im taking it slow with all the wonderfull people on test server that disney has hand picked. Not as many people and better people that are willing to work together make it great.. it passes the time till new stuff comes out....should be out within the next couple of weeks if disney keeps there word. (to test at least)
