POF banner not aligned

I'll keep it short-

Other Disney fan sites with similar format look fine...

but on POF, the banner is displaced and it sort of throws the site alignment off for me. The content is on left, but banner is way over there on the right.

Anyone know why it looks like this? And if so, anyone know how to fix it (if possible)?
I'm running Firefox on a Mac. Site looks fine in Safari, but Safari is incompatible with various sites I need, so I generally don't use it.

Not sure if this is what you mean:

*Removed pic, needed the space*

But if it is... Then perhaps its because your screen is minimized.. If it isn't (which it probably isn't) Then I think I better leave the technical things to those who know it best LOL.. Sorry if that was completely off :laughks2: Ahh well I tried ;)

This might be a mac only problem, Ill try on my mac tommorow to see.

Yeah, that is what I mean, but no matter the size of the browser window, the banner is still out there to the side...

And I still don't get why the other sites look just fine. O_o

Mine was like that a few days ago, until I removed some add ons to it. That might not be the case however.

That is wierd.
I would attest it to some issue between Firefox on Mac computers, and handling of CSS coding. Have you tried any of the new skins? POF has new skins, and may be using some more recently established coding specifications. Unfortunately Mac versions of applications tend to be a bit behind in updates, as they are a much smaller target audience. Nothing wrong with Macs, thats just the honest truth.

Yeah it must be. The site does looks normal in Safari so it's got to be something about Firefox. Anyhow, I'm not too bent out of shape about it because it doesn't cause any real problems, but I was browsing the other sites today and it struck me as odd that the other sites appeared fine.

I gave each of the other skins a try, but no luck. :( The banner is still out there, although its position varies slightly for each skin.

I reviewed the header coding and it looks ok to me. I left a note for Nick to take a look at the problem. Hopefully, we can resolve this minor issue soon.

As I said before, the site does look normal in Safari. However, Safari is incompatible with some sites that I have to use on a regular basis, so I almost always run Firefox.

The same thing happens to me here when I use Firefox on Windows. If I use IE, it works though... So I'm guessing it has to do with the configuration of it with Firefox?

I'd suggest checking the settings for Firefox. Many of our mods use windows with FF and they aren't experiencing any problems.

That makes me think its a setting in Firefox maybe somewhere, I dont use Firefox (one of the few that does not like it). But I know there are many others that do, including some of the admins/mods, and havent heard any mention of this issue.

Andrew 05-02-2009 06:42 PM

Im using it in Opera and it appears fine

I've also opened it in Ie and FF and it appears just fine, so its gotta be something on your end.

monkeefriend 05-03-2009 03:48 AM

:sadmh9: The banner on my FF browser is exactly the same as you post/describe jason davy...it starts right to the right of the DOW Wiki drop down and down a click.....its been that way for a while now but it don't bother me so i just let it be lol weird tho right? :piratear:

swashbuckler II 05-03-2009 04:08 AM
