Double reps.....now is the time to master grenades if you haven't already....trust me on this.

The Skirata Clan 04-15-2009 05:51 PM

why are they doing this again! Im sorry for all of those basics but, why not give triple rep for all the loyal players that have stayed with the game even though there is a serious lack of new content and important updates. Im glad that at least they are doing an effort to lure new paying customers, but you also have to hang to those that havent quit or cancelled their accounts by now.

The Count 04-15-2009 05:54 PM

I really wanted them to do the moonthing agai but i guess this is ok too.

Double rep is going to help a lot of people master. A lot of Master pirates means a lot more pirates with nothing to do. Triple rep would be three times as bad. :smiley-rpg028:

Juliana Maria 04-15-2009 05:54 PM

If I hadn't made my second character this would be a complete waste for me.. luckily Juliana could really use this lol.. The plus side is they are at least trying to fill in the gap between padres and next update.. Hopefully this double rep/gold weekend will happen more often as they try to occupy us :D.....

akamystic 04-15-2009 05:57 PM

We can only hope the % of new sign ups meets or exceeds their set goal. How they distribute the funds is another story. Hopefully much of it will go towards development.

:pirate2wn0:

Basil Dreadflint 04-15-2009 06:12 PM

It only says double rep, not double gold.

It's a marketing ploy. Tease the basics with free unlimited, so they can see the difference, then double rep, but only for unlimited.

I'm just glad they are holding this on separate weekends. If there was double rep on the same weekend that all the basics are unlimited, I wouldn't get double rep.

Jack Sunskull 04-15-2009 06:16 PM

Yay, finally double rep again now I can finally finish leveling grenades that I started a year ago. Watch out Darkheart here I come. Good thing it's next weekend too, because I am out town this weekend or else I would be mad.

Bartholomew Foulsteel 04-15-2009 06:21 PM

I believe I read, "Rewards for All in April - April 15, 2009." All, if I recall the definition correctly, would include the fully mastered pirates that have their weapons maxxed, as well as money and clothing/tattoos.

Ergo, my question: what about THEM? What's THEIR reward?

CaptainGreenGene 04-15-2009 06:29 PM

Haha

I get it!
It's just another Aprils fools joke on all of us.
As if the Swab thing wasn't funny enough now
they play this hysterical joke on us!
WOW Big D is such a funny jokster, my side is
splitting here, LOL ROFL.......NOT

Bartholomew Foulsteel 04-15-2009 06:38 PM

Why, CaptainGreeenGene, I happen to notice that you are level 40 AND fully mastered. Which will you be enjoying the most?

--perhaps the free upgrade to unlimited access?
--or maybe the double reputation?

CaptainGreenGene 04-15-2009 06:50 PM

reply

Why Bartholomew, I will be enjoying the fresh air and sunshine since I will be outside with my kids avoiding the entire event both weekends. Not only that, I would urge the rest of us mastered pirates to boycott those weekends also. There is no sense in participating in an event designed specifically to not favor us. Meet us in the park and we can throw around the football and tell tall tails of battles we fought when we actually earned reps of gold!

Rackat 04-15-2009 06:54 PM

Well my two fully mastered pirates, James Buffitt and Iam Rackat, will be "in their box" for this event so they won't get to enjoy it at all. I will however try to finish James Buffit Jr. and Iam Rackat Part Deux. The double rep should be enough for me to fully Master James Jr. and get very close on Iam Rackat Part Deux. Once they are fully Mastered, that will make pirates 5 and 6 for me that are fully Mastered. I sure would enjoy something to do besides start new pirates to Master.

Evie 04-15-2009 06:59 PM

Actually, I'm glad to see them doing this again. An event like this brings out a lot of people, a chance to master or work hard to level weapons, and to help guildies. Any reason to get together is a good one. Yeah, I'd love new content, but in the meantime, its easier to wait when they schedule something fun like this.

And I have a lot of Basic Access friends who will be coming out to play this weekend and having fun, so I'm excited to see this. :dancetl6:

CaptainGreenGene 04-15-2009 07:00 PM

Agreed

HAHA, I just started #7 and 8. I'm running out of unlimited slots!
Yet I see no real need to cram all those reps into a single weekend.
Why rush to master yet another pirate only to find there isn't a darn thing
to do when your done. I've decided the better bet is to just walk around
and talk to random players. At best I'll make some new friends and at worst
I'll entertain myself trying.

What I meant was... that why bother doing this... I don't care about mastery of my pirates. I know that a lot of you guys have all 4 mastered pirates. Who cares about Double rep. It is a weak ploy to keep some entertained, and in awe because of the caring and loving people at Disney gaming are so great to us. The need to stop this nonsense and get though. Reduce the amount of activities for basics then give the free weekend. As for the unlimited players give something extra, some thing that matters. not rep or gold. im sure they can do better. a lot better. I know that some have a pirate that they want to master or are trying to, then give the triple. Triple is as good as double in the sense that content isn't there either way. Im sorry for those that have mastered or don't care about that. They will be bored or less amused. But that will be the time to create a new pirate if you have the slot available or delete one and start all over. Some people are doing that.

League 04-15-2009 07:25 PM

Accounts are free: anyone can take advantage of the first. Either way, there is nothing to complain about: the same complaints here are the same complaints made everywhere. If someone gets a perk, I don't complain because I didn't get a perk.

If the bait is more attractive than it used to be, you can't (legitimately, of course) complain because you bit less attractive bait (the allusion used because you are already paying customers I suppose--non-paying customers have less reason to complain, though they could easily within reason tell why they aren't paying). Granted, I will be benefitting from the first event should I try to do anything, but I dunno.

I agree. I rushed to master my first pirate, and now I'm just taking it easy on my 2nd and 3rd. I'm playing it a lot more for the fun now, and the longer there's stuff to do, the longer I'll have fun.

I will however use the event to finish off Big John's grenades. Nades aren't fun anymore by level 22, so best to get them over with quickly. I am certainly thankful for an opportunity to do so.

Chris 04-15-2009 08:21 PM

/me claps

Well this is great for those people who are basic or need rep because I and alot of other players cant get rep anymore and already pay for the game so its of 0 benefit to me and my fellow pirates like me!

Raikel 04-15-2009 11:25 PM

lol, first off, I would kill to even play pirates at the moment...

Second off, double rep was awesome back in my day, Backside of Padres (The original and Better). Good ol' grenade training... Even my level 28 got his Grenades from level 10 to level 21... If you guys complain about Double Rep, then you aren't Pirates. This be one of my favorite events of all time...

Curse, I'm afraid was too boring for my skin... So I became Undead!!!

I agree with Bart, but eh, I can somewhat see that. At this point I'm thankful we have an event that will at least benefit SOMEONE, instead of a completely useless event, i.e., Jolly Roger's Curse.

The Skirata Clan 04-15-2009 11:50 PM

Totally agree there Hopefully this will get more money in then more updates- then more fun!

Ghostcannon 04-16-2009 12:33 AM

Yay!!! Double Reps!! coming soon!....This is good for those who wants to master a difficult weapon like Nades....Also good for Big D..because they know the game servers will be filled with new registered users...also good for the basic access people who will get a taste of being unlimited for a few days....the whole point of this is Big D trying to attract new people to the game and attract the regular basic users to become unlimited.... it works evenly for everyone.

Kaionai 04-16-2009 06:06 AM

I'm happy that this is happening yet im not...this is not a good sign in my opinion, it's just them trying to get more people to pay for a subcription so they can persuade people to pay, by them doing it could mean alot of things.

They are on a budget and not making any more money for the game to release more content.

They see that people are not active enough and trying to get there community up in paying terms so they meet a quota..

or they are just being nice since people are fileing for tax's and know that people some and few are getting refunds..:laughks2::laughks2:

davy redflint 04-16-2009 11:57 AM

aye if they add more content then they would keep ppl playin.....i m pay up for another year hopin for somthing new...i guest the the best big d can do is double rep and free week end for basic....which is good for ppl that need it. still waiting for somthing good to happen with this game....:sadmh9:

Nicholasfunstuff 04-16-2009 12:59 PM

Awesome! I might level my pirate to the max! Yea and not good lol, well if I level my pirate max and my weapons I will be bored but the good side is that I think soon the kraken quest is coming on so I am ready for that! But more to the point I like to max my pirate then I can focus on test and make a new pirate, hay can anyone tell me how much does it take to finish the game? Ohhh, I can make a poll of that lol. But for me first time it took me about a year or more or less I can't remember lol.
