PirateAhoy's Guide to Earning Coins!
Hello, and thank you for taking time to view my guide for earning coins! Please note that when I figure out new ways to earn lots of coins I will update this thread.
1. Blackjack and Poker games. You can earn lots and lots of coins if you are a good player. 2. Sailing. Go to Padres Del Fuego and launch your ship. Do not drive it, just go to a cannon and start firing at some of the closer ships. A lot of the time you'll get 1-2 Royal Chests per sinking, esepecially if a Navy Man-O-War is there. 3. Fort Charles. Team up with a group of people and get two who can heal with Voodoo. Go beat the Grunt over and over and plunder aplenty will be yours. More how-tos will be coming soon when I figure them out. Hope ye have fun in Phase 2! |
You also get coins (though small amounts) for killing cadets roaming the grounds.
Also, the other card game in Port Royale, Texas Hold'em is a good way to get coins. Blackjack is a little easier if you know nothing about poker. Also, sinking, and helping to sink, navy ships will get you a share of the bounty! |
Just remember before you spend hours doing this that it is most likely that they will wipe all the characters when they go live.

Very good point Nick.. but since I am at a little over 8000 coins and sailing lv 14 I am pushing for the 10k mark just to have the largest ship in the game for fun lol.. hey if I ever get the stupid thing it says it has 20 cannons and hold 23 crew memebers so i am hoping that means that in the live game this war frigate will become the guild ships.. I will have tell everyone here if I get the stupid thing so we can all go out and mess with everyone.. I can only imange what 10 broadsides can do lol
|
I need to spend way more time at sea...I'm great with the cannons. Can I sail with you WildTaz999? :)
|
I usually get 1000 coins per trip I take. Get a frigate or galleon and sail to Cuba. Circle the island and find ghost ships. Beat their sails first, knock them all down, and then sink it. You get AT LEAST 50 cannon reputation points, and every time you get 110 sailing reputation points. It takes about 3 ghost ship sinks to get 12-15 cargo, then dock your ship at Cuba's Port. You can pick up crewmembers on the beach there, and if you are in World 6, the Cuban Gang doesn't bother you. Goldskull and his fellow "JOIN US OR DIE" sayers hang out in World 5.
It is so fun because right now my guild is at war with the Cuban Gang, and once I was on a ship with just my captain and me, and I, alone, sunk the Cuban Gang's war frigate. |
Sailing-Get Max skill points
To Get the MOST skill from Sailing/Cannons
SHOOT THE MASTS FIRST! you can get 110 skill points EVERY TIME(only2 masts need to be down for full credit) also IF you are the CAPTAIN(at the helm)AND have at least one other crew member~ use the broadsides when along side ship...Leave cannon(esc)~Go to cannon and get masts down, Once 2 masts are down, go back to HELM(use broadsides again) ~wait for crew to finish him off this way you will get Sailing AND Cannon Points This is best done on ghost ships(cuban waters) for they don't shoot back |
I do alot of sailing solo. Why, when I go after the Nave for EITC don't get any xp. I take down the masts before I take it out but I don't seem to get any xp. Also, I've done a few of those Galleons that you need to board. There really isn't much xp in that either... hehe while I'm rambling. When I'm doing cutlass fighting don't seem to always get xp there either. I always go for the stronger enemies. Any idea?

Well since I cant go any further I go see the bartender on port royal by the beach (forgot his name) and I stock up on quests to sink ships and kill skels or crabs. I visit him all the time and get more. I can get 12 fortune quests each time and I also just go sail alone and kill ships to get more. I have a little over 10,000 now. but I was wondering why someone said they had all these Navy Medals. I have none. How do you get those? What am I doing wrong?

If you hit T. It has a bunch of what looks like pirate cards. Click on one. They have the items you have retrieved. |
I personally don't know how to collect treasures. I just do what my quest says to do, sink ships, and try to get my connection to go faster. But here's another tip: Don't try to sink Navy ships, because they're very hard to sink unless you have 3-4 crewmen.
Just updated the guide; added a third tip: 3. For hard but fun coin earning, go aboard a Navy ship near the coast of Port Royal that has a Pirate flag over it. Go on board the ship with another 1-2 people and defeat the skeletons that attack you. Sometimes they are level 7 and will give you up to 5 coins per killing. |
Collecting upto 10 of the townsfolk tasks and doing simultaniously i.e Beach clean up, Lost sea chart (easy peasy, kill couple of skeletons), ect. Gives you 100+ each time. (assuming they haven't bothered to change this yet)
Poker gives far more then Blackjack if you know how to play. War Frigates are far the best way to get coins from ships, Cuba was good place for this, however i hear the Cuban Boy's have taken over. Hold on didn't they make a rubbish record based on the 'Hamster Dance', which failed to reach the Xmas number one in the UK and were never heard of again :D That probs explains a lot, they didn't make much money there, so they decided to pilage the shores of Cuba, venting their frustrations on poor innocent pirates just trying to earn a honest buck. Oops I digress again, sorry. Yes back to topic. Yes all of above are good. 'Keep it Kool ' |
Thanks, Red Bull. I'll add those.
|
I just edited the guide and added a 5th way to earn coins.
|
i think doing townfolk quests are the easiest since they give you 10 gold per quest, and you can do 10 at a time of one quest. I do where you have to kill a skeleton, i get 100 gold, and i find a townfolk near the nearest skeleton so i can keep doing it so quick i can get 1,000 in about 5 minutes

Which townfolk can you get these quests from now? I haven't been able to find them.
|
The townfolk that you can get quests from have a glowing pirate flag over their head.

Thanks! Now I don't have to walk up to every townfolk I see :laughks2: |
I edited the guide yesterday. Hope you enjoy it. Remember to give reputation to anyone who helps you out in a post!

My tip for free players that are not the strongest:
Sink those Navy Bulwarks with the red flag on top. Those give out three crates and/or treasure chests combined. (two treasures and one crate, three crates, etc.) :12_1_138: |
Lots of Gold in Digging!
If you visit Sam Seabones just across from the shipwright's in Port Royal, he's got a quest to find a lost earing that's buried in a treasure chest. There are digging spots all over Port Royal and you can dig in the same spot over and over again each time getting from 7 to 15 or more gold pieces per shot! One night, I ended up with over 200 gold pieces just from stopping to dig while on other quests. As long as you don't find the earing, you can keep digging. (Don't dig behind the guard house in front of the Govenor's mansion or you'll find the earing, the quest will end and you won't be able to dig for more gold pieces)
|
Get some awesome gold from the Veterans at Kingshead. Stand behind the white long fence, and aim with your grenades at the center of the Veteran formation. They will all receive damage come at you, but if you back up enough, not be able to hurt you. Don't back p too much though; if you do they will either walk through the fence or go around the fence to get in. Back up just enough to not get hit by them or your grenades, if you decide to use them against the Veterans. You get about 15-23 gold per Veteran, and there are six.
|
just a reminder josie mcreedy on port rotal gives mercenary jobs they start out at 150 and so far im up to 205 a job.You can also go to the tavern outside of town on tortuga and get jobs from the bar tender there sometime you can get jobs from both at the same time but not always just keep checking back with them.
|
This is how i got my War Sloop. Basicly all you do is grenade the vet formation at kingshead. You get about 60 gold per round. But cheat cards drop Alot when grenading the vet formation (usally 9-ace). Then after u have like 10-20 cheat cards, sail to padres del fuego and go to the blackjack place. Bet 500 gold every round. Every card earns u about 500 gold.
