Feb 19 updates
I am getting a lot of graphic issues inside the caves. Checked Misty Mire & Royal caverns this morning for the short time I was on. The water seems to be really messed up for me. Anyone else?

Have to see if things settle in some I guess. Some were having trouble being able to stay in soon as they logged in. To me everything seemed a bit sluggish.
At least Tortuga doesn't have like half a dozen wall/hill glitches now. |
Yeah misty mire has a graphics problem with the water for some, if not all.

Wall Glitches
There are lots of wall glitches in the new tortuga. Got behind the Kings Arm Tavern and there is a door but if you enter you are put in the middle of the room and when you go look for the door on the inside its not there. A true one way trip. http://www.piratesonlineforums.com/g...mbackdoors.jpg |
I am very glad to see the Crew List tab back!
|
So far for me, the game is running very smoothly. Not getting the choppiness I have been getting lately. I just switched back to DirectX9 to see if the Fireball colors were fixed but didn't have the chance to investigate that yet.
I like the new Tuga cause it's giving the game a new feel. But I do miss hanging out on the hill where I didn't get the endless "be my friend" or "join my crew" requests. Nice little hideout. I'm sooooo happy to have the emotes and the crew tab back. I still think they should make the friends list unlimited. I found the little note that comes up when you make a new friend rather amusing. It said something like. This friendship exists only in the Pirates of the Caribbean Online and only with select pirates. I told my pirate friends that have become RL friends that we weren't allowed to be friends anymore because it only exists in POTCOL. Haven't found the Misty Mire yet (as my time on was limited) unless it is that area where you go down those boards but there was no indication it was the Misty Mire so I'll be looking around for it later tonight. That other area only had Gators so I doubt that was it. I'm hearing mixed reviews from people saying they like or don't like the new changes. For me personally I find the changes refreshing. Gives a bit of new feel to the game because now I have to actually look for stuff and I'm discovering new things on the way. On another note - Just before this update, I was training nades on Kingshead last night, and Ed and I discovered that the Voodoo doll was not gaining rep or gold from healing friends. We tried several things to see if that changed anything and it didn't. I do not know if this was addressed in this update or if it was an isolated incident. I reported it last night but I dont know if other ppl were having probs with this. Also don't know if it was limited to just Kingshead or if that is an issue elsewhere as well. Chele Edit - The problem of pirates coming on as Lvl 1 with no weapons is still an issue. A friend of mine came on when i was on and he was freaked out by it. His name tag said he was lvl 16, but he said his Noto indicator said lvl 1 and he couldn't draw a weapon. He relogged and it returned to normal. And no I'm not talking about you Ed. This was a different friend and it was just this afternoon (after this big update) |
Finally made it into the Mire, and the graphics in there were HORID for me as well.
Compas is a little messed up. It's showing those gold tracking stars under all players and enemies on the mini map in town. Only happens on one pirate, only in town. At least they're not glowing under a tracking beam ;) So I guess til my report gets read, you are all my targets, muhahaha, look out.... http://i252.photobucket.com/albums/h..._13-42-8-1.jpg http://i252.photobucket.com/albums/h...11-21-20-1.jpg |

That wall glitch to me looks like old Tortuga, a little tangled into the new one. Something like finding a old alpha section in a game that slightly exists in some background. Hard to say, and I took a real quick look.
Tortuga had a unreal amount of wall glitches before though. The real simple one above the seamstress, but all other hills also inside the fences etc. As well as some behind walls, or in rocks. One next to the entrance to one of the caves, put you behind all the high rock walls. Not one of the greatest things if they do these things like curse. Think some post here I had some pic's of like 6 different ones in Tortuga. New Port Royal has a real easy one now, that can place you inside the rock by the ship right, on the sand crab side. One of those loaded zone areas people will go to avoid doll users etc in a curse type thing. I have a little time now, may get to checking some of that out, but from first glance nothing like before anyways. Got caught up on some invulnerability glitches, Jail door ones may have gotten taken care of, but that is like half way on those. Crew tab being back is nice I agree. Character inter phase think may be having some sort of problem, not sure what is happening with that yet. A few people are showing up as basic/offline, gray letters instead of blue. May have been just a isolated issue. |

I am nobody's target, I learned new VOODOO and know how to take care of any problems now.
Fence a problem. Attachment 1414 Voodoo the fence. Attachment 1415 Tortuga does have a few glitches. Attachment 1416 |
Yes, Rackat, the water is seriously graphic-challenged. I also noticed that it's the same way in Murky Hollow on PR.
Poison Elf - yes I had to report that voodoo fence too. Very weird one. Why am I the only one that can't find wall and fence glitches until someone else shows them to me? I've been all over new Tortuga trying to find them to report, and have as yet only found one to get in an empty pig pen. |

I must have submitted 10-12 reports last night in a very short time frame. We found some serious LAG issues when sailing as well....talk about choppy, you kiddin' me???

Enemy tracking is not 100%
I've been seeing lots of enemy tracking problems and the suggestions on where they are found are not always the most accurate. Here are just a few that I had today. Clearly the Fort was closer to me then Wildwoods ATM http://www.piratesonlineforums.com/g...etsarehere.jpg Misty Mire was way closer then a sail to Driftwood http://www.piratesonlineforums.com/g...absarehere.jpg |
Ah - good tip Edward. Thank you.
GreenGene - yes, the enemy tracking is seriously messed up. Between the rotten hints at where to find your quest object, to the multiple arrows, to the "flower" NPCs showing up on the compass. Staring straight at a sand crab in Misty Mire and the hint is telling me the closest sand crabs are on Devil's Anvil. ??? I'd hate to be a newbie with that kind of hint "help". |

The hints seem pretty off, and things like sand crabs on PR now a likely easy spot if ya have that teleport. New area like PR, and the question of teleport has to be a problem no matter what.
Bigger problem I see is it just not be right at all. Attachment 1422 |
^^Oh Geeze, that's awful. Haven't been on test in a couple of days, gonna have to check that one out.

One time last night, the yellow tracking star (the one that looks more like a dandelion) was larger itself, than the entire compass, when zoomed out. Zoomed in, it blanked the compass.
