maxing out blade storm, do u think its good or bad?

bladestorm is definitely powerful, but thats just the thing. its powerful from the start. personally, i put 3 in bladestorm, but 4 wouldnt be bad either. 5 will make it super-strong, but in my opinion, its not really worth maxing. just my two cents.

Nack 01-27-2009 01:03 AM

ok thx maybe ill try that

Edward Edgemenace 01-27-2009 02:22 AM

I found rank 5 blade storm to be very useful.

akamystic 01-27-2009 02:32 AM

5 points in Blade Storm puts the nail in the coffin....I like it.....

mlratto 01-27-2009 11:01 PM

i choose to put 2 points in all the combat skills (for rep purposes) and put everything else in passive skills. once i got bladestorm i put 5 points in it.

as akamystic so eloquently put...it certainly does put the nail in the coffin!

Not a bad idea. Course, by the time you max bladestorm, yer sword is near mastered, so it's not much use for rep anymore. I think 3-5 is good, enough, I maxed mine. Fun to watch stuff die.

CaptainGreenGene 01-28-2009 04:10 AM

5

I put five on mine as soon as it opened up.
I saved my points up and as soon as it opened
up I maxed it out. Never had a regret, its worth
using even now that I'm mastered to dispatch
the annoying cadet or gravedigger that slows
your step and helps take out some of the bigger
bosses.

I did have bladestorm at one time but decided to unlearn it.... I had no use for it even in pvp, just for me atleast.

Poison elf 01-28-2009 06:21 AM

Its always going to be up to each individuals play style. Characters I have made since the locked out skipped combos, blade storm is the only thing in attack I end up with 5 points in. Most other points I put in passives, and don't even unlock several attacks.

Nack 01-30-2009 03:19 PM

i also did five in stab if anyone wants to comment any other kind of cutlass skill on this thread your welcome to

Edward Edgemenace 01-30-2009 09:45 PM

As I see it, there are seven different builds:
1) Leveling (one point on each thing)
2) unlimited non-PvPer
3) unlimited PvPer
4) basic (former unlimited) non-PvPer
5) basic (former unlimited) PvPer
6) basic non-PvPer
7) basic PvPer

For builds 2-5, max bladestorm is helpful. Max THRUST is only good for build #2. Cleave and flourish never seem to fly in PvP, so hack/slash/cleave are the combinations to play with, depending on which build (above) you are doing. Passives are essential.

Nack 01-31-2009 01:24 AM

thats always a way to put it

i dont think its nesessary... id much rather (and i did) use all those skill points for endurance. total, it boosts your health by 125. im over 2000 health and im lvl 34

At higher levels, 125 health is very insignificant. One good HACK will wipe that out in PvP. By the time endurance is unlocked, it is not needed. (I haven't retrained - I still have 5 points there - *blush*)

Good point Edward.....that extra 5 points can be useful elsewhere. I do suppose it's all a matter of preference. I have 4 pirates on open and one on test with different configurations. I'm still undecided on some things! I must have spent well over 40,000 in gold retraining skills on my first character (sigh).

P.S. Bladestorm ROCKS! LOL

nice, akamystic

Cutlass I never liked much, after skipped combos were eliminated, I really find it the most terrible skill now. Maybe from the start with so many cheats used in it in pvp got me on this track. With all the jump attacks and things still going on still don't like it.

So if you plan to go pvp then its a entirely different world.

If not I would disagree putting points in other stuff but passives. I like 5 points in blade storm for side issues. Some one runs something at ya, you can switch and take it out in one deal, and go back to what you were doing type thing.

It also depends if you don't wait on blade instinct and add damage. most that I do at the end..

Though it doesn't matter now much with bosses, the 125 did matter when working grenades on something like urchinfist.

Juliana Maria 02-26-2009 08:54 PM

I have blade storm maxed.. depending on the level.. it can do some pretty hefty damage!

League 03-02-2009 02:34 AM

Endurance is still worth the points if you don't use the cutlass though. Parry is a real good skill, worth the go. I'm not sure, but maybe a build could be done using just the combos?

I agree with Elf (was good before the combos couldn't be skipped), and I don't know if what Ed said can be verified, so eh.

POTCO fan 04-13-2009 09:36 PM

I put 5 points in bladestorm it hits a good old-fashion 2.1k.(if i get a good combo before it) I tested it out on the kings assasin boss and with my full combo I take almost a quarter of his life a way.:knife:

League 04-14-2009 06:55 PM

Perhaps a Sweep and a Bladestorm can kill someone in PvP? Anyone able to verify?

Not unless both skills are beefed up and you are fighting someone muchhh weaker than yourself. ;)

And even then, I'm not so sure.

apollo272 07-14-2009 04:45 AM

i think it is worth it because it does tons of damage

furballbuckeyes3114 08-29-2009 01:07 PM

I put these:

1 hack
1 slash
1 cleave
5 flourish
5 thrust

5 sweep
1 brawl
0 taunt
5 bladestorm

0 parry
0 endurance

I find that Bladestorm is EXTREMELY helpful for the fact that it can do ove 1000 damage, and it doesnt take too long to recharge.

Just my two cents, because i pvp alot.
