Think about Manfred Albrecht Freiher Von Richtofen. He had 80 confirmed victories (and as many as 30 more unofficial wins according to some reports). But, he got tunnel vision, followed a lesser pilot across into enemy territory, and was shot down by AA fire. Had he stayed behind his lines, as was his practice to do so - fought prudently and logically - he might have ended up with twice as many victories. Whose to know, right?

I have a sneaking suspicion that some of those "high bounties" were communicating with their fleet and using their bounty as bait. I know a few times this weekend when the bounty on a ship I was on crept up the vultures would be on us like flies. If you had a decent level of participation from the other ships on your team you could use that as a distinct advantage (i.e. knowing where the enemy would go / chase, and then falling on the weak points).

Something to ponder before the next trip out to sea.........

I guess I wasnt thinking too much on the strategy end of things, since I had little control over it (by choice.. im sure I had a voice in the matter), I just fired cannons getting some SvS experience in, as due to all the glitching, id avoided it.

It is a rather piratey way to do battle at that... just was frustrating, hehe.

I had fun, but really want Disney to fix the glitchs. Not knowing, who and who isnt glitching is half the frustration to begin with.

The other "big question" in my mind after this weekend is - "Where do all the other ships on our side disappear to?"

It's nothing to hit the "~" key and see 10 vs 10 and think "AWESOME" only to pull out from the shore and see all 10 bad guys - but only one or two on your team. Where are the other ships? Have they all absconded to the ends of the limitless sea? Are they off somewhere parked in purgatory while the owner eats dinner or finished their homework? Why isn't there an inactivity clock on these guys. Come on, there are people queing up on the beach to get in sometimes!!!!!

Can you tell I had a bad weekend?

AFTER FURTHER CONSIDERATION BY THE REPLAY OFFICIAL: Going to add that I have had a sneaking suspicion that some of the loop-sided sessions have been the result of "spies" from guilds working together. I find this very, very piratey.

Guild member "A" tells noob "b" to join team "S" whilst "A" joins team "F". "B" parks his ship in the nether regions and "F" has a distinct numeric superiority / advantage.

Best part, how can you prove it?

this contest is a farce. you can bet that most of the top got there with glitching. i dont even enjoy privateer anymore because of the glitching that i encounter.
