Cutlass
Every pirate's favorite weapon –– a heavy, curved blade perfect for slashing and parrying. Will Turner introduces you to the basic skills of Hack, Slash, and Sweep –– but it's up to you to practice and learn new skills. Get as much practice with your Cutlass as possible and learn to put your skills together in powerful Combos.

Cutlass Grades(Steel Cutlass is the only one worth it don't waste money buying an iron)

Cutlass Skills

Type Skills Description

Hack Combo A quick opening attack(Like they said great opening attack)
Slash Combo A broad slash(Worth a point or two)
Cleave Combo A mighty overhead cleave
Flourish Combo A series of fast slashes (Really good with 4 or 5 point thanks to the multiple slashes) Stab Combo A fancy finishing thrust (Also Thrust)

Parry Passive Parry enemy attacks –– chance to block incoming Combat Attacks
Endurance Passive Increases maximum Health (Good Skill if you want alot of Health)

Taunt Special Pulls enemy Aggression
Brawl Special Fight dirty –– this stuns your opponent
Sweep Special A wide circular slash –– hits all nearby enemies
Bladestorm Special Delivers a barrage of sword slashes (3 points is really all you need on it) __________________________________________________ ______________

Pistol

Use this basic Range Weapon on opponents who won't come close enough for you to hit them with your Cutlass. Practice with Jack the Monkey to sharpen your marksmanship.

Remember the Pirate Code
The Pirate Code strictly states that pistols may only be used against the undead (Jolly Roger's Skeletons as well as those unholy creatures he has cursed), and must never be used against people –– be they other Pirates, townsfolk, the Royal Navy, or the East India Trading Company Black Guard. (A good place to level it for lower pistol levels is Against Undead Brigands in Murky Hollow for level 5-10 pistol level.
Not surprisingly, there is an exception to this rule. Pirates become undead during Pirate versus Pirate (PVP) skirmishes. At these times, feel free to blast away all you like

Pistol Skills

Shoot Combo Basic shooting skill
Take Aim Combo Hold down the attack button for an Aimed Shot Increases accuracy and damage of the shot
Eagle Eye Passive Increases the maximum range for Firearms and ranged Dagger attacks
Dodge Passive Chance to Dodge incoming Ranged Attacks
Sharp Shooter Passive Increases accuracy for Firearms and ranged Dagger attacks

Pistol Ammunition

LeadShot Standard ammunition
BaneShot A cursed bullet (Better then Venom Shot)
SilverShot Made from solid silver
HexEaterShot Damages Voodoo as well as Health
SteelShot The strongest metal shot (Amazing with 3 points in it against Stumps and Davy Jones Crew) VenomShot Coated with deadly venom(Never seen it slow the enemy down)

VooDoo Doll

This is the essential Voodoo instrument. It is a formidable weapon when used against enemies –– undead creatures, the East India Trading Company's Black Guards, and Navy guards. When you use it on your mateys, you can heal them, give them a boost of speed, or free them of curses.


Attuning Your Voodoo Doll
Before you use your Voodoo Doll to attack or heal, the Doll must be attuned to a target. You can do this by holding the Doll over your new target and clicking the left mouse button. A purple vapor will rise from your target once it is attuned, telling you the Doll can now be used.

Voodoo Doll Skills

Type Skills Description
Attune Combo Attune the Doll to a target in order to cast Spells and Hexes
Poke Combo Poke attack
Swarm Hex Summon insects to attack the enemy
Heal Spell Heals a friendly pirate
Burn Hex Sets enemies on fire(There's no point in getting this)
Shackles Hex Chains from the graves wrap around the enemy
Cure Spell Removes hostile effects from a friendly pirate(Advanced Version of Heal)
Curse Hex Curses your opponent
Life Drain Hex Drain vitality from the victim
Focus Passive Increases your maximum Voodoo amount
Spirit Ward Passive Gives a chance to resist enemy voodoo attacks

Dagger

Rule Number One: Use the pointy end of this weapon on your opponent. Rule Number Two: Use Rule Number One a lot. The Dagger is also the only Close Combat Weapon that is also a Range Weapon –– you can stab with it, or throw it at a more distant opponent.

Cut Combo An opening cut
Swipe Combo A whirling dagger attack
Gouge Combo A powerful downward slice
Eviscerate Combo Delivers three quick cuts
Finesse Passive Decreases recharge time for Dagger and Cutlass Skills
Blade Instinct Passive Increases Cutlass and Dagger Combat damage
Asp Special Basic dagger throw
Adder Special Poisoned dagger throw
Throw Dirt Special Fight dirty –– this blinds your opponents temporarily(Good For PVP battles) Sidewinder Special Sidearm dagger throw
Viper Nest Special Throw a brace of daggers

Grenade

Give your enemies a little lift with this weapon. Just aim, toss, and wait for the explosion. Be sure to get enough experience tossing these so you know how to aim accurately when your survival depends on it. Remember, like in horseshoes, close is good enough with grenades. Any foe near the explosion will take damage. Fortunately, your mateys can't be hurt if your grenade lands close to them, but you can –– so step back if you're too close to impact.

Grenade Skills

Type Skills Description
Throw Combat Basic grenade throwing skill
Long Volley Combat Hold down the attack button to throw the grenade farther. The longer you hold down the button, the further it will go.
Demolitions Passive Increases the area of effect for your Grenade and Cannonball explosions
Determination Passive Increases your Health Recovery rate
Toughness Passive Decreases damage suffered by incoming physical attacks
Ignore Pain Passive Stun effect durations are reduced ( I don't know if it really works)

Grenade Ammunition



Type Description
Explosion A hefty grenade
Shock Bomb A weak but stunning grenade
Flame Burst A flammable concoction
Smoke Cloud A smoke grenade that can used to obscure vision(1 Point is pretty good)
Siege Charge A powerful siege bomb –– watch out, it is heavy(It is heavy when your using long volley with it you can walk while charging since its so big)

VooDoo Staff


The Voodoo Staff is more powerful than the Voodoo Doll, but it can be used only to attack. Because it deals out large amounts of damage, it requires more Voodoo Power to use.

Attacking with the Voodoo Staff
Unlike the Voodoo Doll, the Staff does not need to attune to a target. Like the Doll, the Staff works well from a distance. When attacking in a group, your mateys can engage the enemy at close quarters while you keep to the edges casting multiple hexes.

When you activate your Staff, you will see a meter that shows the power of the Staff as it builds. The Staff cannot discharge your hex or spell until the meter reads full so if you let go before a spell is fully charged, your spell will fizzle.

Voodoo Staff Skills

Type Skills Power Time Description
Blast Combat 0 Voodoo Basic Ranged voodoo attack - can damage enemies near the target
Soul Flay Hex 30 Voodoo 1 second cast Damages enemies in a line
Pestilence Hex 45 Voodoo 3 second cast A cone shaped cloud of pestilence. Inflicts acid burns on the victims
Wither Hex 60 Voodoo 2 second cast Hits a spherical area around the caster. All victims hit suffer take damage and suffer lowered attack power
Flaming Skull Hex 120 Voodoo 4 second cast Summons a flaming skull as the player charges the staff and launches it in a line. Deals strong damage to enemies in a line area
Banish Hex 210 Voodoo 8 second cast A powerful attack that is only effective against the Undead
Desolation Hex 300 Voodoo 12 second cast A devastating attack that hurts all nearby enemies, including you (It takes away to much of your health 1 point is enough) Concentration Passive Increases Voodoo Power recovery rate(Also worth mastering) Spirit Lore Passive Increases staff casting speed (Amazing when mastered)
Conservation Passive Decreases amount of Voodoo Power used by the Voodoo Staff and Voodoo Doll
Spirit Mastery Passive Increases the damage dealt by the Voodoo Staff and Voodoo Doll
