Horrible Lag

i'm not a computer expert,quite the opposite really lol so hopefully i can get some help here.Anyways POTCO has become so laggy lately that my entire gameplay pretty much consists of freeze frames and it's almost like reading a comic book...it's that bad;occasionally the game will freeze completely and go into a white screen saying "pirates(not responding)" that can last from a few seconds up to 10 minutes and has caused me to go to jail many times.Even the loading screens take forever,they get stuck at 75 and 81% and go into a white screen a few times.I don't have a clue what's causing all of this,any advice is appreciated.

I haven't experienced any lag that bad in a long time. When did this start? Have you run a speed test on your Internet connection? Any issues outside of Pirates? What Operating System? PC specs?

i'm using a Dell XPS Laptop on a home network wireless connection. I have Windows 7 and use the desktop launcher...the laptop is high spec with plenty of memory. The problems only occurred tonight and everything was fine this morning,

The lag tonight is the worst I have ever experienced....I have all the latest up to date drivers but I dc when i fight dark hart with graphics issues - it freezes and resets and i then dc...

I have heard someone mention that it may be a problem with my intel drivers?

i contacted live chat who couldn't really help so does anyone have any ideas?

Did you try changing servers? Have you made any recent changes to your PC? Any Windows updates install recently (drivers in particular)? Any programs running memory resident that can be closed?

I've also experienced some lag over the past few days....especially when sailing. The ships appear to pause and jump. I'm an experienced IT tech so I can tell you it's not on my end (Not with an i7, 8 GIG RAM, 1 GIG Video and hard wired into Router).
