If everybody is different, why should every pirate be the same?

There should be skill points like weapons, but for pirates! As the title says, everyone in game, in terms of battle, are pretty much the same. Find another pirate the same level sword and level. Both of you have same amount of skill points on Bladestorm, and are using weapons of the same rarity. You should do damage that are very close.
But with skill points, everyone would be unique! Every level up, you receive 4 skill points. You can choose to spend them on:

- Life : increase maximum life by 15
- Attack : increase attack by 0.5 %
- Defense : decrease damage taken by 0.5%
- Agility : Weapon skill reload time is decreased. (Take aim time for guns, Long volley time for grenades, casting time for staves).

Each of the 4 types have pros and cons. For example, tanking up on life would allow you to live through massive damage, but would take very long to kill a boss, as your attacks will be weak. Spending on attack will make you a lot more powerful, but very easy for bosses to knock you out. Defense would be a good build for healers, who will be able to survive if the boss decided to attack them. Agility is an attack based skill, so it would also make you quite easy to pick off. (call me bias, but in my opinion, a mixed between all 4 is best)
This will give pirates more choices for their own pirates, and make the game a tiny bit stratgy based, instead of just taking a pistol and hope for the best .
Each build will be good for different types of bosses, some boss may have low attack, but tons of LP, some masy have low life, but massive aoe (area of effect) damage.
These skill points can be retrained like weapon skill points. The price for retrain is 10 skill points for $3000 ($60000 for full retrain).
But this would also make pirates stronger, and will make the problems of enemies too weak even worse. So all enemies (include boss) lv 1-10 will have 20% more life, 11-20 will have 30% more life, 21-35 will have 50% more life, 36-45 will have 80% more life, and 45-50 120% more life.
Why have different increases? because lower levels will have less skill points, thus is less effected by skill points.
There will also be a new type of Boss gameplay, which I will post later in another thread.

That is the best idea you have ever had. anyways, it gets kind of lame how you look like other pirates in clothes and ships. i mean, you dont have a wide selection of clothes, you can't customize your ship, etc. anyways i posted a thread about houses. here it is basically: buy a house, pay taxes, if your homeless you wake up on the street with a groggy. not enough money? live on your ship, or rent a room in a tavern. oh and you should pay to have your ship tied up.
