Dagger Quest: Silver Ingots & Rods

Okay so I'm starting to feel POTC challenged...I've been *trying* to aquire the dagger and all was going fine and well until they wanted me to sink some Level 7+ EITC ships. Well...ok I have sunk them...lots of them and none of them are searching for the ingots and rods... I've even made it my current quest and gone sinking EITC ships...but yet there is no search for them therefore...I don't get any. And I'm stumped :/ Is this a glitch I should report or am I terribly missing something?
