Reporting Bugs Is Bugging Me!

I'm a bit miffed again. Sent a bug report due to not being able to play Blackjack today; if I go up to the table it accepts my bid but I get no cards and it starts again at the next round. Poker is fine, it's just the blackjack and this is the first time it's happened to me; I've played a bunch of times before.

I get the following reply:

Thank you for your recent bug report to Pirates of the Caribbean Online.

Pirates Online utilizes the latest 3-D features of current video cards. It's helpful to stay up to date with your video card's latest software drivers.

The problem you reported might be resolved by upgrading to the latest version which can be found on the manufacturer's or vendor's web site.

The graphics card installed on your computer is the NVIDIA GeForce 8500 GT with drivers from 11/24/2004.

Thanks again for your email and we look forward to seeing you soon in Pirates of the Caribbean Online.




I know some issues could be due to out of date cards/drivers...but almost every time I report something I get that reply; we're not here to test our graphics cards, we're here to find bugs so the game can be at it's best when it's released. I just got that new video card a couple of weeks ago, the drivers are up to date and I doubt if that version of the card was even available in 2004.

If they're going to use standard replies, a "thanks for the report, we'll look into the issue" would be better than always being told our pc and hardware are not up to date (especially when they are).

I have the same messgages, it's like vmk in a way, or we don't get a reply lol. But yes, they usually blame our hardware instead of the game itself. They also say that if we don't give them a log and use report a bug, not contact us, then they can't tell what's wrong lol.

My lvl 17 pirate also can't play blackjack like you.
It's for the Nill Ofrill quest right? I tried all tavern on different world and still cant play it
but no problem with poker. So i was stuck at that quest and cant advance anymore.
Sent bug report a week ago and no reply (or fix to the bug)
So i had to dump that pirate and made a new one.
Fortunately my new pirate can play blackjack and finish that quest.

The only solution to this bug right now is to dump your pirate. Fun heh?

Eeek don't dump your pirate! They'll fix it sooner or later, hopefully. I'm also stuck on the rum quest and have been for quite a while now. In the one helpful reply I got they told me not to delete it, that there would be a fix. Haven't seen it yet, but eh.

I didn't know the blackjack has been an issue that long, I'm always playing Hold 'Em in Del Fuego where the big cash is LOL! Unless it's only an issue if you have a quest for it....interesting to find out if anyone else can play it.

I don't mind having a bug so much, I can work on building sailing or weapons up or run around and help the smaller pirates; I just wish they'd get a different reply to every bug report, more on the topic of us finding issues they need to fix rather than blaming our pc's.

Disney's bug replies are the same with Toontown. It's always your fault and usually your video card.

I know it's just wishful thinking on my part, but I would so love it if they would include a copy of what we write to them in their response. There have been times when I receive multiple responses all at once. I have no idea what "fix" or "bug" they are addressing most of the time. Just the other day I recieved 5 or 6 replies, varying from "it's your video card", to "it's your firewall", to "remember we're still in Beta and things happen". Funny thing was I hadn't played in several days, much less submitted bug reports! Hmmm... which bug is caused by what?!

Well I just hope they're reading all of them.

The one I get a lot is we need to know who what where and when. I get this when I submit discrepancies between the task description and the task itself. I send in a screen shot stating the task and the task description says different things, and I state what it says. I get we need to know who, what, where, and when. lol I don't know what more info they need.

Tonight I got a reply to a bug report; I haven't submitted a bug report in quite a while, so I have no clue what they're responding to, but I got the same old reply AGAIN:

The only thing I can think of reporting within the last few weeks was a question re: my bugged test character, which has been bugged since before Beta ended. Again, this is a brand new graphics card, put in in October. Drivers ARE up to date. Sheesh get a new reply, people!

Oh, and please tell me how the game not giving me complete tasks is a graphics issue!

My Test character has this bug too. I was fine still playing her for a while until her unability to play blackjack got her stuck on the Gunner quest. I've reported it a number of times without anything being done about it.

It's bad enough that she can't play Blackjack but I've tried explaining through my reports to Disney that it's actually quite a bad exploit since the bug I have also makes it so that I can't lose any gold in poker. Just like in Blackjack when I try playing poker my bid is not drawn from my gold. But I still get dealt cards and if I win I get my winnings. If I lose nothing is withdrawn. If I wanted to I could afford the biggest ship quite fast with that bug.

Really ticked off at PotCO right now due to this and many, many, MANY other reasons. I'm about ready to send a message to the Crew at PotCO and tell them my and everyone's frustration and even threaten to demand my money back.

Yep, same blackjack bug still on my test pirate. I also still have the gunner journal bug on both my test and open pirate that will not clear after completing. Reads 100% completed and I have finished the entire Black Pearl quest on both test and live, but there it still sits. Also, my test pirate at level 32 still does not have the voodoo staff quest.

If I had to guess, they fixed the bugs but it only has worked on those after the fix prior to reaching said level. That worries me as I continue through the game finding more bugs.

I recently sent an email asking POTCO to fix my pirates of said bugs as I am tired of my journal being flooded with the gunner bug, and got the response that I need to send different requests for each the test and open. Every response I get, when I do get one, always seems to suggest its my fault. All I can say is whatever and still believe the game wasn't ready to go live especially with the monthly fee.
