Alarming fan speed
Hi,
My computer is an Acer Aspire M5700, a pretty powerful computer, but whenever I sailed in POTCO, I get a top fan speed of 1242 RPM and Flight Simulator 10 of 1510 RPM, which is full power on my computer. Is this safe? Would running the computer like this for too long damage it? Thanks! |

Yes, in the long term, it has a chance of breaking and making your computer overheat. But it is only running that high because one or two of your computer components are working very hard. They are most likely the graphics card and your RAM cache. But don't worry, they are meant to withstand heat. Your computer will probably not break, explode, or spontaneously combust. Just remember to clean it.
