Good Vs. Evil (A Story Game)
How to play:
Each person, the very first time they post in the thread, has to declare if they are good, or if they are evil. Once you declare a side, you stay with that side the entire time. No changing sides. Each time you post, you add at least a line or two to the story, but not more than a few lines or a short paragraph. Then you say what the result of your post is. Each post is worth one point. If you are on the side of good, you add one point to the total. If you are on the side of evil, you subtract one point. The game begins with a score of 50. If the good side gets the score to 75, they win (the ship reaches port) , and the game is over. If the bad side gets the score to 25, they win ( the ship sinks) and the game is over. If there are any questions in the ruling of the posts, I will (as the OP) make the final decision. Keep your posts within the guidelines of the forum rules. I.E. no trolling, flaming, double-posting, and only PG rated. EXAMPLE HOW TO PLAY: The first person who posts declares themself as "Good". They post something like this: "I find them floundering. I can't help much, but give them a spare bilge pump to help them keep the water out of the ship." Plus one to the score. Score is now 51. The next person also declares themself as "Good" and posts: "Following behind (Whoever just posted) I give the Newlife 5 yards of sailcloth, and point them in the direction of the nearest island that has fresh water supply." Plus one to the score. Score is now 52. Another poster comes in and declares themself as "Evil" and posts: " My ship is moored at the island and refuses them passage or even allow them to land for the water. I send them packing." Minus one to the score. Score is now 51. The Story to start with: The Colony ship, Newlife, bound to the Americas with a full crew of 17 hands and 91 colonists is caught in a hurricane and driven way off course to the south. It ends up lost somewhere in the Caribbean, badly damaged. The sails are torn, one mast is totally destroyed and a second one is damaged. Food and water are running low. The colonists are relatively poor folks who have spent most of their life savings on outfitting the ship for the voyage, and the few tools and other supplies that they could bring with them in order to establish a foothold colony and a new life. The ship, Newlife, is only lightly armed, and is privately owned. It's apparent that the ship was over burdened and carries too much weight. The Current score is 50! I declare myself as "Good"!

Evil Shall Conquer.
I throw some of the tools and supplies overboard. To "lightened the weight". Minus 1. Score is 49. *Something like that? |

The lighter weight makes the ship more bouyant, and some of the weakspots in the hull are no longer under water. The leaking slows, and now they can keep up with it. Keeping the seawater off of the remaining few supplies.
Add one to the score. Score is now 50. *Exactly, TSC.

Me crew and meself are about to attack the Newlife, when we notice the white flag flying form their single remaining mast. We grapple alongside and behold the wretched mass that is her crew and passengers.
Me crew turns and says, "Pirates we may be, but if we spare these wretches, they may remember our deeds in the future and aid us when we need it." I figures that may be wise counsel, and offer to trade them meat, fruit and water. In return they offer up almost all thier remaining powder and shot. It is a fair and equitable trade. We part ways with them vowing to aid us, should the opportunity ever arise, and a few extra barrels of gunpowder in our hold. Score is now 52.

My ship approaches the Newlife and before we could attack I decided to trade with them instead. Since they had so little I offered to give them a crate that contained old fruit with insects among which it had termites and a keg of rum with the remaining rats of our ship.
The rats scattered in their supplies room. -1 Score back to 51 |

A gentle ocean breeze pushes the crippled ship to a very small island. The crew finds a few tall pines, a water source, and some coconut and other assorted fruits. Iguanas and birds can be found, also.
The passengers are set about to gather fruits and coconuts, catch birds and lizards for meat, and bring in water. They also emtpy the ship of all the contaminated food and catch all the rats. The crew uses some of the tools brought aboard by the colonists and cuts 2 of the largest pines to fashion makeshift masts. This process takes a months. Score is 52.

Natives attack the colonists of the Newlife while they are fixing the masts. They are forced to leave the fruit and animals from the animals. They couldn't finish the repairs and were forced to leave the island before they could finish.

I talk the women of the Newlife into believing that their dresses were looking raggedy. Then they decided to make new dresses with the materials that were destined to make the new sails.

I supply the crew of the Newlife with cloth necessary for sail repairs, from the tailors of the Caribbean, free of charge. +1 Scored 49 |
