2010 Winter Olympics Opening Ceremonies

Ok, I've been trying since the Opening Ceremony to figure this out. Was watching the pre-ceremony stuff that NBC was doing. Interview, background info, etc. Well, I noticed that they were playing some very familar music. In fact I thought I was hearing things. For a minute I thought my husband had put one of the Pirates movies in or something, so I walked back into the room and NBC was still on. But, I WAS hearing music from Curse of the Black Pearl. It was the music titled The Medallion Calls. Very fitting considering they are there to win medals, but I am wondering how NBC got away with using it. I'm not sure if the whole piece was used or not. I know that copyright rules are strick about the ammount of a piece or song can be used before having to ask permission or recognizing the music, composer and source.
Did anyone else watch the ceremonies and notice this? Did anyone DVR the Ceremony? Let me know...
