What are the best builds for each weapon?
What I would like to request, and perhaps create, is a consensus on what everyone feels is the best end-game build for all weapons, sailing and cannons.
I would like to post reasons for each, and set it up as follows... Grinding build - builds for each weapon to maximize leveling ability (100 points) with each kill. Mid range leveling build - if need be, another build for each weapon when you are about mid-range to reduce the difficulty in leveling your weapons at this level range. End-game build - the final, best, most efficient or potent build for each weapon for end game use, including PVE and PVP builds if necessary. Now, I realize that alot of this is probably by personal taste, but there has to be an agreed standard....a build that everyone agrees is best for each stage for whatever reasons it would be needed at that point. As posts are made I will add to this post, eventually creating a guide that will assist those that wish to naturally level up to max level and have weapons keep pace. Thanks for your input. |

Master weapons Before doing any quest. After getting the pistol just start leveling...don't even start the black pearl quest till all weapons are maxed...of course you probably have to see Jack eventually when making grenades.

Thats a good idea...I was wondering if that was possible.
What I am looking for is what people consider the best way to spend points on each weapon, in three parts....initial leveling (what is the best build to level each weapon up quickly), general questing and end game/PVP builds. |

For leveling up, keep one point in each skill. That earns you the most rep out of everything. I prefer putting some points in attacks to make them stronger, so it goes faster though.
For questing, it depends. If you want it done fast, focus on 3 points in attacks, and place the rest in areas you prefer (bladestorm, etc.) For PVP builds, put majority of your skills in the final 2 attacks for sword, and leave the dagger 1 in each. Then put the rest of the points in passives, combat skills and throwing skills. Thats at least how I do it. |

Yeah give 1 skill point to each so u can get more rep and if u use a dagger dont do back strike it kills faster so less rep

Well.... everything ultimately zeroes down to PvP, as the enemies we challenge aren't much of a challenge. But I do suggest that a knock out or slowdown attack helps : Shrapnel/Grapeshot*Brawl. Apart from that Passive skills are definitely the MOST important.

End buildup - for sailing I have maxed out take cover, ramming and full sail. Why? because I think speed and protection is more important than firing everything as powerful as you can get it but if you can't get them in then you're no use. As for cannon I have fury maxed and most of the bottom maxed. ( rapid reload, barrage etc. ) I have NO chain shot and no grape shot, why cause grape is NOT USEFUL, I can't see anybody so it's no use and chain I don't care cause i got fury. Shoot is maxed because I fire much faster rather than that boom boom boom. now it is boomboomboom.

Round shot is more efficient than Fury since it is unlimited whereas one has to keep going to shore to get Fury... But Fury is still stronger. Yet still Round shot with all cannon passive skills makes it more efficient. Increasing Take Cover, Ramming Speed and Full Sail just increases its time. I wouldn't mind it for Take Cover but Ramming Speed puts u out of control for a while and when I out 4 on Full Sail I realized it would have done well with permanent Passive skills such as Windcatcher (speed), Tacking (turning), Taskmaster (reload), Treasure Sense (gold - not so needed now). But for mostly Grenade, Cannon, Pistol, Staff, Doll and Dagger Passive skills are the MOST IMPORTANT as it raises ur pirate's strength. As for the active skills only one or two should be maxed, such as, Voodoo Staff - Desolation or Flaming Skull; Dagger- Viper's Nest and the first one; Doll- Life Drain and Swarm; Grenade - Fire Bomb and the last BIG one.... Cutlass is an exception as every active skill is important. But some active skills that act in a passive way are very helpful - Brawl, Throw Dirt, etc. Grape Shot too, but it doesn't work now......
![]() One note : Lightning is extremely important for long distance shots and mast crippling, slightly more effective than Fury.... |

I have 1 an hack, 2 slash, 3 cleave, 4 flourish, and 5 thrust. Special is 3 sweep, 2 brawl, 1 taunt, and 5 blade storm. Maxed endurance and no parry. That is just for cutlass, i am way too tired to post anymore lol.

Ok, but soon all of those might be obsolete soon. I wonder how are they going to put the new moves in.
